Private Jet Charter Zurich to Larnaca

Zurich to Larnaca is a 2,505 km sector of about 3 h 34 in the air, flown non-stop out of Kloten with the cabin full and the hold loaded. It is one of the few pairings on this website carrying a price of our own rather than a broker’s: a whole charter on a Legacy 600 at €24 500, published for the leg running north. The hour of departure is the thing to settle first, because Kloten takes no movements overnight. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; our desk at Larnaca answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.

The working half of Switzerland’s Cyprus traffic — a boardroom at one end, our own airfield at the other, and a landing met by people who work at Larnaca rather than by a subcontractor three telephone calls away.

The route at a glance

Very little on this pairing is booked for pleasure. The Cypriot shipping, fund and corporate-services economy keeps Swiss counterparties, those counterparties travel on weekdays, and the southbound leg is the one that finishes in our own yard. Two things govern the planning, and neither of them is the distance. Kloten is shut to movements overnight, which fixes how early the day is allowed to begin. And three and a half hours in the air turns an afternoon departure into an evening arrival — unremarkable at Larnaca, where our desk is manned at every hour, but worth deciding on purpose rather than discovering.

The published peaks for the pairing are the Mediterranean summer and the Alpine winter; the first one fills this direction, the second mostly fills the other
Distances are great-circle figures between airport coordinates in the OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026, so the track actually flown is longer than any of them. The flight time is a modelled estimate rather than a measured block time. It comes from a model fitted to flight times this website already publishes, it draws no distinction between the two directions of a pairing, and routing, upper winds, slot allocation and the aeroplane itself all move it. Our own published example for these two airports shows 03:30, four minutes away from the model — a useful check on the arithmetic, not a promise about your day. The schedule written into your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

One end of this decision is nearly always settled and the other genuinely is not. Almost everything on the Swiss side leaves from Kloten, and the only real reason to look at another field is that Zurich is not where your week has been. The Cyprus end is yours to choose, and what it decides is how much of the evening you spend in a car.

AirportCodesGreat-circle to LarnacaWhat it means for you
Zurich (Kloten)ZRH / LSZH2,505 kmThe default departure and the field every figure on this page is measured from. It recorded 25,866 business-aviation movements in 2023, and private traffic is handled at a general-aviation terminal away from the scheduled halls. The airport is slot-coordinated and closed to movements overnight, which on a departure page works on the front of the day rather than the back: it sets the earliest hour at which you can be in the air, and therefore the earliest hour at which you can be in Cyprus.
BernBRN / LSZB2,553 kmForty-eight kilometres further in the air and a considerably shorter drive if the week has been spent in Bern or the Bernese Oberland. A smaller field with lighter handling, so it rewards notice and punishes improvisation.
Engadin (Samedan)SMV / LSZS2,370 kmThe shortest sector on this page, and the one that removes a long mountain drive if the party is leaving St Moritz rather than Zurich. It sits high in the Alps, operates in daylight only and asks particular things of aircraft performance and crew qualification, so it is planned weeks out rather than substituted on the morning.
LarnacaLCA / LCLKarrivalWhere the sector ends, and the island’s main business-aviation gateway. The right field for Nicosia, the eastern half of Limassol, Ayia Napa and Protaras. Our own operations desk is on this airfield and staffed at every hour, which is what makes an arrival at an unsociable time a matter of scheduling rather than of negotiation.
PaphosPFO / LCPH2,440 km from KlotenThe western field, sixty-five kilometres shorter in the air and well over an hour further by road from Larnaca. Ask for it if the stay is in Paphos, Polis, Latchi or the Akamas. The trade is a thinner choice of handling and of available aircraft, so raise it with the dates rather than afterwards.

The crossing itself is worth stating once, because the passport position surprises people who assume that two European airports make a domestic hop. Switzerland belongs to the Schengen area but not to the European Union. Cyprus belongs to the European Union but not to the Schengen area. The consequence is a passport check at both ends and a customs position worth settling before the day rather than at the aircraft steps, particularly if anything in the hold is declarable. At business-aviation terminals both happen beside the aeroplane and take minutes rather than the better part of an hour. Send us the complete passenger list with passport details in good time and there is nothing left to do on the morning but get in.

Airport coordinates and codes: OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026. Zurich movement count: EBAA 2023 via Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024. Larnaca does not appear in the EBAA European top fifty for 2023. Handling is confirmed against your actual dates rather than against a general rule.

Aircraft for Zurich to Larnaca

At 2,505 km this is the shortest of the three Swiss and French sectors we publish against Cyprus, which makes it the one on which a smaller cabin is easiest to defend. It is also the one where our own published example went the other way entirely and used a heavy cabin, a Legacy 600, and that is worth knowing, because it says something true about charter in general. What ends up flying is decided at least as often by which aircraft was free that week as by what the kilometres strictly require.

Bombardier Challenger 350

Eight to ten seats, a flat floor and a cabin in which three and a half hours of work genuinely gets done rather than nearly gets done. The type we put forward first when the party is coming south for meetings and going home inside the week.

See the Bombardier Challenger 350 ›

Cessna Citation Sovereign

Nine to twelve seats and the quietest way we know of moving a full party on a sector this short. It behaves well off shorter runways, which stops mattering at Kloten and starts mattering if the itinerary later touches a small field.

See the Cessna Citation Sovereign ›

Embraer Legacy 600

The cabin behind our own published figure for this pairing. Heavier than the distance demands and correspondingly roomier; the one to ask about when the party is large, or simply when it is the aeroplane that happens to be standing free on your date.

See the Embraer Legacy 600 ›

Each type has its own page in our fleet, and the cabin and seat figures there are the ones we quote from. A midsize cabin will fly this sector perfectly well for a party of four or five travelling light; with a full load and full luggage the trade becomes bags against fuel, so tell us the party before you ask about the type. How much goes in the hold is set out on our luggage page.

What it costs

From €24 500 one way, whole aircraft. That is our own published figure rather than an estimate borrowed from a broker, and it is an anchor rather than a tariff: your date, the aeroplane genuinely free on it and the charges at both fields all move it. Send the dates and a written figure follows inside 30 minutes.

Most route pages on this site have to reconstruct a price from published hourly rates. This one does not. Diamond Executive Aero Services publishes a whole-charter example for these two airports — a Legacy 600 at 24,500 EUR — and although it was printed for the leg running north, the aeroplane, the airports and the hours are the same ones. An operator’s own number is a better place to start an argument about price than an aggregator’s.

Be precise about what the figure is and is not. It is a real published price for this pairing on a heavy cabin. It is not a floor that applies to every party and every date: a smaller aeroplane on a quiet Tuesday in May can sit under it, and a July date that needs an aircraft flown in from somewhere else to collect you will sit over it. What it gives you is something firm to hold a quotation against — ours included.

The southbound direction also has one structural point in its favour, and it is worth putting to whoever is quoting you. Ask where the aeroplane starts and where it goes after it has put you down. Cyprus is where we are based, so a leg that finishes at Larnaca frequently finishes where the aircraft belongs and leaves nobody paying for an empty flight home. The same sector flown by an aircraft that must return to Switzerland immediately is a different piece of arithmetic, and over three and a half hours the difference is not loose change.

When to fly, and when to book early

Of the European pairings we publish against Cyprus this is the least seasonal, because the traffic underneath it is corporate and corporate travel does not take a month off. The peaks are real, but they sit on top of a steady weekday flow instead of replacing it — and read from the Swiss end, the famous Alpine peak works against the other direction rather than this one.

PeriodWhat happens on the leg southWhat to do about it
September to June, weekdaysThe core of the route, and the reason it exists. Meetings in Limassol and Nicosia, out early and frequently back within a day or two. The fixed points of such a day are the opening of the Zurich window in the morning and the crew duty clock in the evening, not the flying time. One to two weeks is usually enough. If it is a day return, say so in the first sentence: it changes which aircraft we propose before it changes anything about the price.
June to SeptemberThe Mediterranean season, and the direction everyone wants. What runs short on the island in these weeks is rarely the aeroplane; it is somewhere to park it and somebody to handle it.Ask about parking and ground handling at Larnaca in the same breath as the aircraft, and commit three to four weeks out when the date cannot move.
Late December to early MarchThe Alpine season pulls aircraft towards Switzerland rather than away from it. Going south you are often the quiet half of somebody else’s trip, which is the most useful position to be in on any charter. The realistic window for short notice, and the months in which a question about a repositioning flight is most likely to be rewarded.
The morning windowNot a season but a daily limit, and the one that catches people out on a departure. Kloten takes no movements overnight, so there is an hour before which you simply cannot go, however early the meeting in Cyprus is.Give us the hour you need wheels down at Larnaca instead of the hour you fancy leaving Switzerland. We compute the departure from that end and confirm the window before you build a day on top of it.

Seasonality classification: routes_shortlist.csv, Diamond Executive Aero Services route research, 23 August 2026. Zurich movement count: EBAA 2023. It describes a pattern rather than a guarantee — what is true of a season is not always true of your week, and we check the dates themselves before quoting.

What the arrival actually consists of

People who have only flown scheduled into Cyprus expect the arrival to be the slow part of the day. On a private flight it is the fast part, and it is worth knowing in advance what the minutes between the engines stopping and the car are spent on.

Off the aeroplane

You walk down the steps into a business-aviation terminal rather than a bus. Passports are checked at a desk a few paces from the aircraft; customs applies as it does on any arrival from outside the European Union, and at this terminal it is a conversation rather than a channel.

The bags

Everything travelled in the hold, because safety rules keep luggage out of the cabin on the way. The practical effect on landing is good: the bags come out beside you while the formalities are being dealt with, so there is no carousel to stand at.

What goes in the hold ›

Who meets you

Our own people. The handling agent, the border desk and the car are arranged in advance by the operations desk that sits on this airfield, staffed 24 hours a day, rather than through a chain of intermediaries in another country.

Private jet charter in Cyprus ›

And on the way back

The same terminal works in reverse, and it is quicker than you think: fifteen minutes before departure is possible and thirty to forty is what we recommend, because that margin absorbs traffic and a passport that needs a second look.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Zurich to Larnaca by private jet?
Three hours and thirty-four minutes is the estimate for the 2,505 km, flown without a stop, and the identical figure stands for the leg back. It is calculated rather than timed with a stopwatch: the model behind it is fitted to flight times already published on this website, and it holds no opinion about which way an aeroplane is pointing. Our own published example for these two airports shows 03:30, four minutes away from it, which is a reasonable independent check. Bern is 2,553 km from Larnaca and Samedan 2,370 km; Paphos is 2,440 km from Kloten.
Does the Zurich overnight closure affect a flight leaving for Cyprus?
Yes, but at the opposite end of the day from the one people expect. Kloten is closed to movements overnight, and on a departure that means there is an hour before which the aeroplane cannot go — so the earliest possible arrival at Larnaca is set in Switzerland, not in Cyprus. Larnaca itself takes business traffic at any hour and our desk there is staffed at any hour, so the constraint is entirely at the Swiss end. Name the hour you need wheels down in Cyprus; the departure time follows from it, and we confirm the window before anything else gets fixed around it.
Where does the 24,500 EUR figure come from?
From our own published table rather than from a broker. Diamond Executive Aero Services publishes a whole-charter example for this pairing flown on a Legacy 600 at 24,500 EUR, printed for the leg going north; the airports, the distance and the hours are the same ones flying south. We use it in preference to a number reconstructed from published hourly rates because it is a real operator’s price for these two airports. It is an anchor rather than a tariff: a smaller cabin on a quiet date can sit below it and a summer date needing an aircraft flown in to collect you will sit above it.
What happens when we land in Cyprus?
Passport control and customs, because Switzerland is in the Schengen area but not the European Union while Cyprus is in the European Union but not in Schengen. At the business-aviation terminal that is a desk a few paces from the aeroplane rather than a hall with a queue in it, and it is measured in minutes. Your luggage travelled in the hold, so the bags come out beside you while the formalities are being dealt with. Our operations desk is on the Larnaca airfield and staffed around the clock, and the handling is arranged by the people who work there.
Should we land at Larnaca or at Paphos?
Larnaca, unless the stay is in the west of the island. Larnaca serves Nicosia, the eastern half of Limassol, Ayia Napa and Protaras, and Limassol is roughly 45 minutes away by road. Paphos serves Paphos itself, Coral Bay, Polis, Latchi and the Akamas, and well over an hour of driving separates the two airports — far more than the sixty-five kilometres the choice changes in the air. Handling and aircraft availability at Paphos are thinner, so ask for it when you send the dates rather than on the day.
Can we leave from Bern or Samedan instead of Zurich?
Both appear on our published figures for this pairing, and both are proper answers to a particular question rather than casual substitutions. Bern is 2,553 km from Larnaca and makes sense if the week has been spent in Bern or the Bernese Oberland; it is a smaller field with lighter handling and it wants notice. Samedan is 2,370 km, the shortest sector on this page, and for a party leaving St Moritz it removes a long mountain drive — but it operates in daylight only and asks specific things of aircraft performance and crew qualification, so it has to be planned rather than arranged on the morning.
Does the leg south cost the same as the leg north?
Not necessarily, and the reason is positioning rather than distance, which is identical either way. We are based in Cyprus, so a flight that finishes at Larnaca often finishes where the aircraft lives and leaves no empty sector home for anybody to pay for. Ask us for both directions and compare the two quotations rather than assuming they mirror each other.
How late can we book, and are there empty legs on this corridor?
Often the same day, provided an aircraft and the slots line up; the Cyprus end is the part we arrange fastest because it is our own desk. Empty legs occur on this corridor, though on the aircraft’s date rather than yours, and our own published table has carried Larnaca to Munich at 23,000 EUR and Larnaca to Geneva at 10,000 EUR — both running north, which is the honest shape of repositioning traffic off the island. Brokers publish discounts of 50 to 75 per cent on repositioning flights generally. Current listings are on our empty leg page, and if a date can move a day either way, say so when you first write.
