Private Jet Charter Zurich to Ibiza

Zurich to Ibiza is 1,117 km south, about 1 h 49 min in the air, Zurich to Ibiza, normally on a light / midsize jet. From €7 600 for the whole aircraft, one way. Give us the dates and the passenger count and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; the operations desk is staffed at every hour on +357 95 119759.

South to the Balearics in about 1 h 49 on a light or midsize jet. Through the summer the day is decided at the island end rather than in the air: Ibiza rations the arrival slot and the overnight stand long before it runs short of aircraft. Arranged 24/7.

The route at a glance

Flown south, the interesting end of this sector is the one you land at. EBAA counted 25,866 business-aviation movements at Zurich in 2023 and 14,383 at Ibiza, and the second number is compressed into roughly ten weeks - a small island field absorbing a full European season in one go. Zurich lets you go easily enough, subject to its night curfew. Ibiza is where the arrival slot and the overnight parking stand decide what the day actually looks like.

Distance

603 nautical miles great-circle, Zurich to Ibiza; the track actually flown south to the western Mediterranean is longer than the straight line
Flight time
approx. 1 h 49 min
An estimate from a model fitted to our own published times, not a measured block time. On this sector the ground at the island end stretches long before the air does
Departure
ZRH
Zurich LSZH - a scheduled hub where business aviation is the minority tenant, slot coordinated and under a night curfew, so a late departure south is confirmed rather than assumed
Arrival
IBZ
Ibiza LEIB - a small island field, and through the summer the binding constraint on this route: the arrival slot and the overnight stand rather than the supply of aircraft
Typical aircraft
Light / midsize jet
Phenom 300, Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP - light and midsize cabins, and on the way out the choice is usually settled by the hold rather than by the range
Busiest months
Dec - Mar and Jun - Sep
Two peaks at opposite ends of the year. December to March fills the Zurich end while the island sleeps; June to September fills the direction you are flying
Distance is the great-circle figure between airport coordinates. Flight time is an estimate, not a measured block time: it comes from a simple model fitted to the flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, and it will move with routing, wind, slots and aircraft type. Your quotation carries the real schedule.

Which airports we use

Two airports with almost nothing in common, and on the way out it is the arrival that sets the terms. Zurich is a scheduled hub with a night curfew, which makes it a departure question and usually a solvable one. Ibiza handles a full European season in about ten weeks, and in those weeks the ground runs out before the air does.

AirportCodesDistanceSuits you if
ZurichZRH / LSZH1,117 kmYour departure, and the simpler half of the day: the field for the city, the lake and the Swiss finance and pharma belt, with 25,866 business-aviation movements in 2023. Business aviation is a minority tenant here. It is slot coordinated and subject to a night curfew, so if you want to head south late in the evening, that is agreed in advance rather than assumed on the day.
Palma de MallorcaPMI / LEPAwhere your aircraft may waitNot somewhere you land instead - somewhere your aircraft may sleep. When Ibiza has no overnight stand, the jet sets you down, repositions across the water and comes back for you at the end of the stay. In August that is routine rather than exceptional, and it belongs in the quotation you read before you fly rather than in the invoice you read afterwards.
IbizaIBZ / LEIBarrivalWhere the sector ends, and where the planning actually sits. Through the summer the binding limits are the arrival slot and the overnight parking stand rather than the supply of aircraft, so give us the hour you want to be on the island and we will confirm the handling window against it instead of the other way round. Formentera has no airport of its own, so if that is where the party is going, the connection begins here as well.

Aircraft for Zurich to Ibiza

1,117 km sits at the top of the light jet band and the bottom of the midsize one, which is why the fleet on this sector is mixed. About 1 h 49 in the air. Flying out in July the decision is usually made by the hold rather than the range: a party going for a fortnight travels with a fortnight's luggage, and that is a cabin-size question.

Embraer Phenom 300

The light jet that covers this sector comfortably. In the winter half of the year it is also the type most likely to be standing in Switzerland already, which is what keeps a positioning leg off a southbound quotation.

See the Phenom 300 ›

Cessna Citation XLS+

A stand-up midsize cabin, and the usual choice for a family or a group heading out for a week. Close to two hours in the air is long enough for the extra cabin height to register.

See the Citation XLS+ ›

Hawker 800XP

The step up when the luggage rather than the party is the problem: a full galley, a separate lavatory and the hold volume for a long Balearic stay. That is what you are packing for on the way out rather than on the way home.

All three types are on our own fleet pages. Heavier cabins can be arranged on this sector too.

What it costs

From €7 600 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

No published price for Zurich to Ibiza would survive contact with a real booking, so read the figure above as a floor and not as a quotation. On this pairing the calendar counts for more than the distance: flown out in February and flown out in the first week of August, the identical sector is not the same product.

What gets published are hourly rates for the aircraft class. Brokers publish EUR 4,600 to 9,700 per hour for European light and midsize jets, others quote from EUR 2,900 to 3,500 per hour and others publish USD 3,750 to 4,600 per hour, all retrieved in 2026. They are worth having to sanity-check a quotation and no use at all for building one: multiply an hourly rate by 1 h 49 and you have left out the crew day, the landing and handling at both ends and, in the season you are most likely flying out in, the parking.

Going south, the dominant variable is where the aircraft sleeps once it has put you down. Released after the drop, it is one price. Held for you when Ibiza has no overnight stand, it flies away, parks and comes back, and those two extra sectors are yours to pay for. It is also worth asking us what is moving in the other direction: the seasonal swing between the Alps and the Balearics sends aircraft home empty twice a year, and the southbound half of that swing runs in the spring. Send us the dates and we will quote against them.

The hourly rates above are third-party published figures for the aircraft class, not prices for this route, and they are shown so that you can check any quotation you receive, ours included. Only a written quotation from Diamond Executive Aero Services, against your dates, is a price. Call +357 95 119759, 24/7.

When to fly, and when to book early

Most routes have one season. This one has two, at opposite ends of the year and at opposite ends of the route, and read from the Zurich end that matters in a particular way: the months when your departure airport is busiest are the months when the island you are flying to is empty, and the other way about.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
December to MarchThe Alpine peak, and it sits at your departure end. Zurich is busy, but the traffic is going up into the mountains rather than out to the Balearics, so the aircraft are in Switzerland while the island end of your route is close to dormant. The cheapest weeks of the year to fly this sector southbound, and the likeliest weeks to be offered a repositioning leg running your way.
April to MayThe changeover, and it runs in your direction. Ibiza is opening up, the season has not started, and the Swiss fleet is beginning to move south for the summer.Value and easy availability in the same weeks. If your dates bend at all, this is the window in which to ask for a southbound empty leg.
June to SeptemberThe Mediterranean peak: the ten weeks in which Ibiza is genuinely full, and the weeks when everybody wants to travel the way you are travelling. Arrival slots and overnight parking are rationed long before aircraft are.Four to six weeks out for a July or August weekend. Give us the arrival hour early rather than only the date, so that the handling window and the stand can be confirmed before you commit.
October to NovemberThe island empties as quickly as it filled and the fleet turns back towards the Alps for the winter. The repositioning flights in this window run north, against the way you are going.Still an easy month to buy southbound at short notice, but do not count on an empty leg going out: in these weeks the spare capacity is pointing the other way.

Onward from Ibiza

For a good many parties Ibiza is the connection rather than the destination. Formentera has no airport at all, so everyone going there lands here first, and Mallorca is a short hop across the water on the same aircraft - occasionally the same aircraft that brought you out.

Formentera and the islands

Formentera has no airport at all, so every arrival comes through Ibiza and continues by boat or by helicopter. We arrange the helicopter leg alongside the jet rather than leaving you to find one in August.

Palma de Mallorca

A short hop across to Mallorca on the same aircraft, and quite possibly the airport where your jet is parked overnight while you are on Ibiza.

Empty legs, north and south

The Alpine to Balearic swing makes this one of the better corridors in Europe for repositioning flights. If your dates bend at all, this is where the saving is.

Questions we get about this route

How long is the flight out to Ibiza?
About 1 hour 49 minutes in the air over 1,117 km, plus roughly 15 minutes on the ground at each end at a business-aviation terminal. In the peak weeks allow more at the Ibiza end, where it is the ground handling rather than the flying that stretches. The flight time is an estimate from a model fitted to the times we publish ourselves, not a measured block time, and it moves with routing, wind, slots and aircraft type.
Can our arrival hour at Ibiza actually be confirmed in the peak weeks?
Sometimes, and we will say straight away if it cannot be. Through the peak the scarce items at Ibiza are the arrival slot and the stand rather than the aeroplane, so give us the hour you want to be on the island and not only the date. We come back with what can genuinely be confirmed, including the option of setting you down and sending the aircraft away to park.
Where does the aircraft stay while we are on the island?
Either on the stand at Ibiza or, when there is no overnight stand to be had, across the water at Palma de Mallorca. In that case the jet sets you down, repositions and returns for you at the end of the stay. It is routine in August rather than exceptional, and it belongs in the quotation you read before you fly, not in a surprise afterwards - so ask us to price it either way.
Does the Zurich night curfew stop a late departure south?
It can shape one. Zurich is slot coordinated and operates a night restriction, so a late evening departure is confirmed in advance rather than assumed on the day. Tell us the hour you want to be on the island and we work the departure back from it, which is the order that produces an answer you can rely on.
We are going on to Formentera. Does that change how we book?
It changes what to tell us at the start. Formentera has no airport at all, so every arrival comes through Ibiza and continues by boat or by helicopter. We arrange the helicopter leg alongside the jet rather than leaving you to find one in August, which is when finding one late is hardest.
What does it cost to fly out, and why is there no fixed figure?
From €7 600 one way as a floor, not a quotation. The public reference points are hourly rates for the class - EUR 4,600 to 9,700 per hour for European light and midsize jets, others from EUR 2,900 to 3,500 per hour, others USD 3,750 to 4,600 per hour, all retrieved in 2026 - and none of them is a price for a 1,117 km sector. Multiplying a rate by 1 h 49 leaves out the crew day, the landing and handling at both ends and, in season, the parking.
Why is the same flight out so much dearer in August?
Because in August you are not only buying the flight. Ibiza runs a whole season in about ten weeks, and in the peak the arrival slot and the overnight parking stand are the scarce items. If the aircraft cannot stay on the island it has to set you down, fly away to park and come back, and those sectors are on your bill too. In February, when the fleet is in Switzerland anyway, none of that applies.
Is there an empty leg going south, and how late can we book?
This corridor throws off more repositioning flights than most, because the same fleet serves the Alps in winter and the Balearics in summer and has to move between them twice a year. The southbound half of that swing runs in the spring; the discount range brokers publish is 50 to 75 percent, and you take the operator's date and roughly the operator's hour. Outside the summer weeks a same-day departure is realistic. In July and August the honest limit is whatever slot and parking can be confirmed at the island end. Both Switzerland and Spain are inside Schengen, so the border adds nothing to the timetable. The desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.
