Dubai to London nonstop in about 7 h 21 min - the longest sector we publish, and the one where the aeroplane earns its keep. Departure from Luton, arrival at Dubai International, and a price band we can show you rather than describe.
REQUEST A QUOTELuton handled 26,661 business-aviation movements in 2023, fifth in Europe (EBAA 2023). At 5,500 km this is among the longest routes on this site, and the only one of our Gulf pages where we have found published prices for the exact city pair that we are prepared to reprint - they are in the price section below, without the broker names, because the numbers are the useful part.
Luton is the departure recorded for this route, and on a sector this long the choice of London field matters less than it does on a European hop: an extra fifteen minutes on the ground is a rounding error against seven and a half hours in the air. What does matter is the handling agent and the customs arrangements at the hour you leave.
| Airport | Codes | Role | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai International | DXB / OMDB | Departure | The arrival recorded for this route in our route data. Business aviation is handled to one side of the scheduled concourses, with customs and immigration available at any hour - which on a flight that often lands in the small hours is the practical point. |
| London Luton | LTN / EGGW | arrival | 26,661 business-aviation movements in 2023, fifth in Europe (EBAA 2023), and the field with the deepest choice of long-range aircraft on any given day in the United Kingdom. It is the airport all the distances and times on this page are calculated to. |

Dubai has two airports and both take business jets. We quote Dubai International unless there is a reason not to. Al Maktoum International (DWC / OMDW), twenty nautical miles south-west of the city, is the alternative: open around the clock, with its own customs and immigration, and a 4,500 m runway that takes aircraft considerably larger than anything on this route.
Two things decide which one you arrive at, and neither of them is our preference. The first is slots: Dubai International is a level 3 slot-coordinated airport, which means demand for the schedule exceeds what the airport can take and every movement needs an allocated slot. Al Maktoum is level 2, where a slot is agreed rather than rationed. The second is parking: under Dubai International's own conditions of use, a business jet on the ground there for more than twenty-four hours has to be relocated to Al Maktoum. On a trip of several days that rule is usually what moves the aircraft.
The flight itself is the same either way - the two airports are less than a minute and a half apart at cruise, which is inside the error of any flight-time estimate. The drive is not the same: Al Maktoum is the closer of the two to Dubai Marina and the Palm, and the farther from Downtown and the financial district. Tell us the address you are heading to and we will say which airport makes the shorter journey for you.
Slot levels and airport data: AIP United Arab Emirates, AD 2 OMDB and AD 2 OMDW, AIRAC cycle 2026-P06, effective 6 August 2026. Twenty-four hour ground-time rule: Dubai Airports Conditions of Use, paragraph 3.13(j).
5,500 km with reserves is a serious sector and it removes most of the fleet from the conversation before anyone discusses cabins. What is left is a small group of long-range types, and the choice among them comes down to how many of you there are and whether the seven hours are for working or for sleeping.
Our fleet page lists 13 to 19 passengers. On a sector of this length this is the type that does it with the most margin in hand, which in practice means it is the least likely to be re-planned around wind on the day. The usual answer for a full party.
See the Gulfstream G550 ›Listed at 13 to 14 passengers. A wide cabin for its class and the one people who intend to work the whole way tend to ask for by name. Seven hours is long enough that cabin noise stops being a detail.
See the Global 5000 ›Listed at 13 to 16 passengers. Three engines and a notably efficient cruise, which on a sector this long shows up in the quotation rather than in the specification sheet. A good answer when the party is smaller than the seat count.
See the Falcon 7X ›All three types have their own pages on this site. Passenger figures above are taken from those pages, not from a manufacturer brochure.

This is one of the few routes on this site where published prices exist for the exact city pair. They are reprinted below without the names of the brokers who published them, because you can weigh a number without knowing whose website it came from, and because none of them is our offer.

Two things about that table are worth saying out loud. The aircraft named in it are the ones the published sources happened to price, not the ones we necessarily propose - our own suggestions for this sector are the three types above. And the source pages carry no date of their own, only the date we retrieved them, which is why every row says so. Treat the band as a sanity check on any quotation you are given, ours included, and not as a market price on your travel dates.
Published market rates for long-range jets in Europe run from about 8,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 20,100 EUR an hour at the top; dollar-quoted sources put the same class at 12,000 to 17,000 USD an hour. Those are published market rates collected from broker price pages in August 2026, not our rates, and they are shown only so that you have something to measure a quotation against.
Our route data puts the busy window from November to March, with the flow reversing towards Europe between June and August. That reversal is the single most useful thing to understand about pricing this route, because it decides which direction the empty aircraft are pointing.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| November to March | The Gulf season. Demand runs Dubai to London, which means the outbound sector is the one everybody wants and the return often flies with an empty cabin. | Book four to six weeks out for the outbound. Ask about the return separately, because it is the cheaper half of the same movement. |
| June to August | The flow reverses and the traffic runs Dubai to Europe. Now it is the London departure that has the spare capacity, and a westbound aircraft has to get back east somehow. | The best window of the year to ask about an empty leg out of London, and the worst to expect a bargain coming home. |
| April, May, September, October | The shoulder at both ends, with the long-range fleet redistributing itself between the two seasons. | Two to three weeks is normally enough, and short-notice requests are far more likely to be met than in February. |
Seasonality for this pairing is taken from our own route research file for diamond.aero. Movement counts are EBAA 2023 as published by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024. Empty-leg discount range as published on several broker price pages, all retrieved 23 August 2026.
Seven and a half hours in the air tends to mean the trip has more than one leg to it. These are the ones we are asked about most on this pairing.
