Dubai to Munich nonstop in about 6 h 10 min. This is the westbound Gulf sector - the direction that carries the empty aircraft for half the year, which is precisely why it is worth asking about separately from your outbound.

The route at a glance

Munich recorded 13,197 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). This is the only westbound Gulf route we publish, and it is here deliberately: on long sectors the price is set by where the aeroplane has to be next, not by the distance, so the two directions of the same city pair are two different commercial questions. At 4,565 km it is short enough for a heavy jet rather than a long-range one.

Distance is the great-circle figure between airport coordinates. Flight time is an estimate, not a measured block time: it comes from a simple model fitted to the flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, and it will move with routing, wind, slots and aircraft type. Your quotation carries the real schedule.

Which airports we use

The departure is Dubai International and the arrival is Munich. Neither is a dedicated business-aviation field; both handle private traffic in their own facilities alongside a very large scheduled operation, which means full customs and immigration at whatever hour you land.

Dubai InternationalDXB / OMDBDepartureThe departure recorded for this route in our route data, and the point all distances and times on this page are calculated from. Business aviation is handled away from the scheduled concourses. If your trip actually starts at a different field in the emirates, tell us and we will quote that as its own sector rather than reuse these figures.
MunichMUC / EDDMArrival13,197 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). A large scheduled airport with a separate business-aviation facility, and the natural arrival for southern Germany and the eastern Alps - which is where a good proportion of this traffic is actually going.

The second Dubai airport, and when you land at it

Dubai has two airports and both take business jets. We quote Dubai International unless there is a reason not to. Al Maktoum International (DWC / OMDW), twenty nautical miles south-west of the city, is the alternative: open around the clock, with its own customs and immigration, and a 4,500 m runway that takes aircraft considerably larger than anything on this route.

Two things decide which one you arrive at, and neither of them is our preference. The first is slots: Dubai International is a level 3 slot-coordinated airport, which means demand for the schedule exceeds what the airport can take and every movement needs an allocated slot. Al Maktoum is level 2, where a slot is agreed rather than rationed. The second is parking: under Dubai International's own conditions of use, a business jet on the ground there for more than twenty-four hours has to be relocated to Al Maktoum. On a trip of several days that rule is usually what moves the aircraft.

The flight itself is the same either way - the two airports are less than a minute and a half apart at cruise, which is inside the error of any flight-time estimate. The drive is not the same: Al Maktoum is the closer of the two to Dubai Marina and the Palm, and the farther from Downtown and the financial district. Tell us the address you are heading to and we will say which airport makes the shorter journey for you.

Slot levels and airport data: AIP United Arab Emirates, AD 2 OMDB and AD 2 OMDW, AIRAC cycle 2026-P06, effective 6 August 2026. Twenty-four hour ground-time rule: Dubai Airports Conditions of Use, paragraph 3.13(j).

Aircraft for Dubai to Munich

At 4,565 km this is a heavy-jet sector rather than a long-range one, and that is worth a sentence because it is the same class of aeroplane as our Athens and Vienna Gulf pages but a different class from London, Amsterdam, Geneva, Zurich and Milan. Six hours in a heavy cabin is a comfortable proposition; it is a stand-up cabin with a full galley, not a compromise.

Embraer Legacy 650

Our fleet page lists 13 passengers. On a westbound leg at the end of a trip, baggage volume is usually the deciding factor rather than seats - people come back from the Gulf with more than they left with, and this is the roomiest hold of the three.

See the Embraer Legacy 650 ›

Challenger 605

Listed at 9 to 12 passengers. The widest cabin here, and the sensible answer when a smaller party wants to work or sleep properly across six hours rather than simply be transported.

See the Challenger 605 ›

Falcon 900

Listed at 12 to 14 passengers. Three engines and a strong runway performance, which matters if the trip carries on from Munich into a smaller Alpine field rather than ending there.

All three types have their own pages on this site. Passenger figures above are taken from those pages, not from a manufacturer brochure.

What it costs

From €49 100 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

We have found no published price for Dubai to Munich from a source we would be prepared to reprint, so treat the figure above as a floor rather than a quotation. On a westbound sector, though, there is more to say about how the number is built than on most routes.

Direction is not a detail on long sectors, it is most of the story. From November to March the demand runs from Europe to the Gulf, which means a large number of aircraft arrive in Dubai with passengers and have to get back to Europe without them. That is your leg. It is the reason we publish the westbound sector as a page of its own rather than as a footnote on the outbound pages, and it is the reason we always ask what the other half of your trip looks like: if you flew out on somebody else's aircraft schedule, the way home may be far cheaper than the way out was. Beyond that, the usual things apply - a heavy jet at heavy-jet hourly rates rather than long-range ones, and a Munich arrival that suits southern Germany and the eastern Alps better than Frankfurt would.

Published market rates for heavy jets in Europe run from about 6,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 18,100 EUR an hour at the top; dollar-quoted sources put the same class at 8,500 to 10,000 USD an hour. Those are published market rates collected from broker price pages in August 2026, not our rates, and they are shown only so that you have something to measure a quotation against.

We have not found a published price for this exact city pair that we would be willing to reprint, so this page carries none. A number invented to fill a table is worse than no number at all. Tell us your dates and passenger count and you will have a real one, in writing, from our operations desk on +357 95 119759, 24/7.

When to fly, and when to book early

Our route data puts the busy window from November to March, with the flow reversing towards Europe between June and August. Read that carefully on this page, because it is the westbound direction: what is the busy season for the route is the quiet direction for you, and vice versa.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
November to MarchThe Gulf season, with demand running eastbound. Aircraft accumulate in Dubai and need to return to Europe, which makes this the direction with spare capacity even though the route as a whole is at its busiest. The best months of the year to ask about a westbound empty leg. Two to three weeks is normally ample, and short notice is often possible.
June to AugustThe flow reverses and traffic runs Gulf to Europe. Now the westbound leg is the contested one and the eastbound is the quiet one - the exact inverse of the winter position.Book four to six weeks out. This is the half of the year in which the westbound sector is worth planning rather than improvising.
April, May, September, OctoberThe shoulder, and when the heavy-jet fleet redistributes between the two seasons. One to two weeks. Ask about both directions before committing to either.

Seasonality for this pairing is taken from our own route research file for diamond.aero. Movement counts are EBAA 2023 as published by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024.

Onward from Munich

Munich is an arrival that most people are passing through. These are the continuations that come up on the westbound leg.

Into the Alps

Munich is the natural gateway to the eastern Alps, and a good deal of what lands there in winter carries on into the mountains. If the last hour of the journey is the awkward one, the helicopter leg is worth arranging at the same time as the jet.

Going back out again

The Central European Gulf sector we publish in the other direction is Vienna to Dubai - shorter than this one at 4,224 km, on the same class of heavy cabin. If the return trip starts from Austria rather than Germany, that is the page.

Empty legs in this direction

From November to March a great many aircraft have to come back from the Gulf empty. That is exactly this sector, and it is the single best reason to ask about a repositioning flight rather than a charter.

Questions we get about this route

How long is the flight from Dubai to Munich by private jet?
About 6 hours 10 minutes over a great-circle distance of 4,565 km. That is an estimate from a model fitted to the flight times we publish ourselves rather than a measured block time. Westbound sectors of this length are often a little slower than the eastbound equivalent because of the prevailing winds, so treat the figure as the middle of a range.
Why do you publish the westbound direction as its own page?
Because it prices differently. On a six-hour sector the quotation is driven by where the aeroplane has to be next, and that is not symmetrical: for half the year the Gulf accumulates aircraft that need to return to Europe, and for the other half the reverse is true. Treating Dubai to Munich as simply the return half of a European outbound would hide the cheapest flight of the year on this pairing.
How much does a private jet from Dubai to Munich cost?
We have found no published price for this city pair that we would reprint, so the figure on this page is a calculated floor rather than a quotation. Published market rates for heavy jets in Europe run from about 6,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 18,100 EUR an hour at the top. On this particular sector the empty-leg question is worth asking before the charter question.
When is the best time to get an empty leg from Dubai to Munich?
Between November and March, which is counter-intuitive because that is the busy season for the route as a whole. The reason is direction: in those months demand runs from Europe to the Gulf, aircraft pile up in Dubai, and they have to be flown home. An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody in the cabin - an aircraft that has dropped a party and has to be somewhere else. The discount brokers publish on them is 50 to 75 percent. Current empty legs.
Why Munich and not Frankfurt?
Because of where the passengers on this sector are actually going. Munich handled 13,197 business-aviation movements in 2023 and sits at the top of the eastern Alps, which is where a large share of Gulf-to-Germany traffic ends up. If your destination is genuinely in the Rhine-Main area we will quote a different arrival - but we will quote it, not stretch the numbers on this page over it.
Does a heavy jet really cover 4,565 km nonstop?
Yes, and comfortably at the loads our fleet pages list - 13 passengers on the Legacy 650, 9 to 12 on the Challenger 605, 12 to 14 on the Falcon 900. This sector sits below the point at which a long-range cabin becomes necessary, which is why it is quoted at heavy-jet rather than long-range hourly rates. Heavy luggage is the thing to flag, because hold volume runs out before weight does.
How late can I book Dubai to Munich?
Permits along a Gulf routing take longer than anything inside Europe, and that is the usual floor. In the winter months the aircraft side is unusually easy, because so many are looking for a way home - which is why short notice works better on this sector than on almost any other we publish. The desk is staffed around the clock on +357 95 119759.
Can I book a last-minute private jet from Dubai to Munich?
Often yes, and this is the most common way this route is booked. A last-minute charter means the aircraft, the crew and the airport slots have to line up at short notice: when they do, we have put people in the air within a few hours of the first call. What decides it is where a suitable aircraft happens to be and whether the windows at both ends are open, not our willingness. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759 — it answers around the clock — and we will tell you straight away whether your timing is achievable rather than promise and check later. Last-minute empty legs on this corridor are worth asking about at the same time.
