Dubai to Amsterdam is a 5,169 km westbound sector of about 6 h 56 in the air, Dubai International to Amsterdam Schiphol, and at that length it is a long-range jet rather than anything smaller. From €54 900 for the whole aircraft, one way. Send the dates and the passenger count and a written quotation follows inside 30 minutes; the operations desk is staffed at every hour on +357 95 119759.
Nearly seven hours out of the Gulf and into northern Europe. At that length the cabin stops being a preference and becomes the whole decision - and at the Amsterdam end the arrival hour is decided by an airport that is scheduled to the minute for somebody else. Westbound the wind is usually in front, which is the honest caveat to the time above.
REQUEST A QUOTETwo facts shape this leg, and neither of them is about the aeroplane. The first is Schiphol: 14,508 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023), a fraction of what Le Bourget or Luton handle, and the reason is not lack of demand but the airport itself - one of the most densely scheduled airfields in Europe, with private traffic fitting around the rest. The second is the air. The upper flow over the Middle East and Europe is predominantly westerly, so this direction normally flies into it while the outbound has it behind; the figure below is a direction-neutral model estimate that makes no attempt to separate the two. At 5,169 km the aircraft is chosen for range either way.
The two ends of this sector are difficult in opposite ways. Dubai is easy to leave and the only real question is which of the two Dubai airports your aircraft is standing at. Schiphol is where the sector ends, and it is the one airport on this page that is a genuine constraint rather than a convenience: a scheduled mega-hub with business aviation attached to the side of it, which shapes the hour you can land far more than it shapes what you fly.
| Airport | Codes | Role | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai International | DXB / OMDB | Departure | Where the sector starts. Business aviation is handled away from the scheduled concourses with customs available at any hour, which is why the departure end of this route is rarely what holds a plan up. If the aircraft has been standing with you for several days, expect it to have moved to Al Maktoum in the meantime - the rule that does that is set out below, and it decides where your car takes you on the way out. |
| Amsterdam Schiphol | AMS / EHAM | arrival | Where the sector ends, and the airport all figures on this page are calculated from: 14,508 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023), modest by the standards of the European top ten. That is a consequence of how densely the airport is scheduled rather than of how few people want to fly privately into Amsterdam. Private traffic has its own terminal, so the walk from the aircraft to the car is short, but the runway is shared with everything else - which is why the landing hour is worth settling at the enquiry and not left to the day. The same thinness has a second effect you will pay for rather than feel: a long-range aircraft that drops you here has little reason to stay. |

Both Dubai airports take business jets, and this page quotes Dubai International unless something argues against it. The alternative is Al Maktoum International (DWC / OMDW), twenty nautical miles south-west of the city: open at every hour, with its own customs and immigration, and a 4,500 m runway sized for aircraft far larger than anything that would fly this sector.
Which field you depart from is not settled by our preference. Slots come first: Dubai International is slot-coordinated at level 3, meaning demand for the schedule exceeds what the airport can absorb and every movement needs an allocated slot, while Al Maktoum sits at level 2, where the slot is agreed rather than rationed. Parking comes second, and on the way home it is usually the deciding one - Dubai International's own conditions of use require a business jet on the ground there beyond twenty-four hours to be moved to Al Maktoum, so an aircraft that waited out a stay of several days has very often waited it out at the second field.
In the air the choice makes no difference: under ninety seconds separate the two at cruise, well inside the error of any estimated flight time. On the ground it decides how long your last morning in Dubai takes. Al Maktoum is the shorter drive from Dubai Marina and the Palm; Dubai International is the shorter drive from Downtown and the financial district. Tell us the address you are being collected from and we will say which field makes the shorter journey out.

At 5,169 km this is the second-longest sector on this site and firmly a long-range one; with reserves, a midsize cabin would need a technical stop, and an hour on the ground somewhere nobody wanted to land rarely saves what it costs. Seven hours is also the point at which the questions change. Passengers stop asking about seat count and start asking about sleeping, cabin pressure and noise - and going west, with the wind more often in front than behind, the answer to how long you will be living in that cabin is a little less certain than the number at the top of the page suggests.
Thirteen to nineteen passengers on our fleet page, and the most margin of the three over a sector approaching seven hours - which is what you want when the cabin is full, the hold is full and the wind is against you. The default answer for a large party going home.
See the Gulfstream G550 ›Thirteen to fourteen passengers on our fleet page. The one to ask for when the flight is meant to be worked rather than slept through: a wide cabin and low noise change what seven hours feel like more than any line in a specification does.
See the Global 5000 ›Thirteen to sixteen passengers on our fleet page. Efficient in the cruise, which on a westbound leg of this length shows up in the quotation rather than in the brochure, since the hours you are billed for are the ones the headwind decides. A sensible answer when the party is well under the seat count.
See the Falcon 7X ›All three types have their own pages on this site. Passenger figures above are taken from those pages, not from a manufacturer brochure.

No published price for Dubai to Amsterdam has reached us from a source we would be willing to reprint, so read the figure above as a floor rather than a quotation. What actually sets the number on a westbound sector this long is set out below.
Nearly seven hours in the air means the hourly cost of a long-range jet is the dominant line and everything else - landing fees, handling, catering - is small change against it. Two things then decide where inside the band you land. The first is the wind, and westbound it usually works against you: this is the direction that flies into the prevailing flow, and you are billed by the hour rather than by the kilometre. The second is what the aircraft does after it has put you down. Because Schiphol handles comparatively little business aviation for its size, a long-range jet that lands there is unlikely to find work waiting; more often it leaves empty, and that repositioning leg is charged to somebody. Ask us early where the aircraft is going next, because the answer can move the quotation more than the choice between the three types above. The lever that helps most is the shape of the trip: a few days in the Gulf with the aeroplane held is regularly cheaper than two one-way sectors, because it removes a positioning leg at each end.
Published market rates for long-range jets in Europe run from about 8,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 20,100 EUR an hour at the top; dollar-quoted sources put the same class at 12,000 to 17,000 USD an hour. Those are published market rates collected from broker price pages in August 2026, not our rates, and they are shown only so that you have something to measure a quotation against.
Our route data puts the busy window from November to March, with the flow reversing towards Europe between June and August. Read that from your own direction, because on this pairing the reversal matters more than the peak: it decides whether an aircraft is already pointing your way or has to be brought to Dubai for you.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| November to March | The Gulf season, and the crowd is going the other way. Long-range aircraft are committed early to eastbound work, but a good many of them have to come back afterwards - and that is your direction. | Four to six weeks out. Ask at the same time whether an aircraft is due to return west on your dates; it is the single biggest variable in the price. |
| June to August | The flow turns towards Europe and your direction becomes the popular one, with everybody heading north-west in the same weeks. | Book earlier than the winter would require. Schiphol is not a field where spare long-range aircraft sit around waiting to be used. |
| April, May, September, October | The shoulder, and when the long-range fleet redistributes between the two seasons. | Two to three weeks is normally enough, and short notice is far more realistic than in midwinter. The best months to ask about a westbound empty leg. |
Seasonality for this pairing is taken from our own route research file for diamond.aero. Movement counts are EBAA 2023 as published by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024.
