Amsterdam Schiphol to Dubai nonstop in about 6 h 56 min. Nearly seven hours is the point at which the cabin stops being a preference and starts being the whole decision - and at Schiphol, so does the slot.
REQUEST A QUOTESchiphol recorded 14,508 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). That is a fraction of what Le Bourget or Luton handle, and the reason is not lack of demand but the airport itself: Schiphol is one of the most heavily scheduled airfields in Europe and private traffic has to fit around it. At 5,169 km the flight is long enough that the aircraft is chosen for range, and the interesting operational question sits on the ground rather than in the air.
This is the one route on this page where the departure airport is a genuine constraint rather than a convenience. Schiphol is a scheduled mega-hub with business aviation attached to the side of it, and that shapes when you can leave far more than it shapes what you fly.
| Airport | Codes | Role | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amsterdam Schiphol | AMS / EHAM | Departure | 14,508 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023) - modest by the standards of the European top ten, and a consequence of how densely the airport is scheduled rather than of how many people want to fly privately from Amsterdam. All figures on this page are calculated from Schiphol. Private traffic is handled in its own terminal, but the runway is shared with everything else, so the departure hour is worth settling first. |
| Dubai International | DXB / OMDB | Arrival | The arrival recorded for this route in our route data, with business aviation handled away from the scheduled concourses and customs available at any hour. |

Dubai has two airports and both take business jets. We quote Dubai International unless there is a reason not to. Al Maktoum International (DWC / OMDW), twenty nautical miles south-west of the city, is the alternative: open around the clock, with its own customs and immigration, and a 4,500 m runway that takes aircraft considerably larger than anything on this route.
Two things decide which one you arrive at, and neither of them is our preference. The first is slots: Dubai International is a level 3 slot-coordinated airport, which means demand for the schedule exceeds what the airport can take and every movement needs an allocated slot. Al Maktoum is level 2, where a slot is agreed rather than rationed. The second is parking: under Dubai International's own conditions of use, a business jet on the ground there for more than twenty-four hours has to be relocated to Al Maktoum. On a trip of several days that rule is usually what moves the aircraft.
The flight itself is the same either way - the two airports are less than a minute and a half apart at cruise, which is inside the error of any flight-time estimate. The drive is not the same: Al Maktoum is the closer of the two to Dubai Marina and the Palm, and the farther from Downtown and the financial district. Tell us the address you are heading to and we will say which airport makes the shorter journey for you.
Slot levels and airport data: AIP United Arab Emirates, AD 2 OMDB and AD 2 OMDW, AIRAC cycle 2026-P06, effective 6 August 2026. Twenty-four hour ground-time rule: Dubai Airports Conditions of Use, paragraph 3.13(j).
At 5,169 km this is the second-longest sector on this site and comfortably a long-range one. Seven hours is also the point at which people stop asking about seat count and start asking about sleeping, cabin pressure and how loud the aeroplane is - all of which vary more between individual aircraft than between types.
Our fleet page lists 13 to 19 passengers. On a sector approaching seven hours it has the most margin of the three, which matters when the cabin is full and the luggage is real. The default answer for a large party.
See the Gulfstream G550 ›Listed at 13 to 14 passengers. The one to ask for when the flight is meant to be worked rather than slept through - a wide cabin and low noise change what seven hours feel like more than any specification line does.
See the Global 5000 ›Listed at 13 to 16 passengers. Efficient in the cruise, which on a sector of this length shows up in the quotation rather than in the brochure, and a sensible answer when the party is well under the seat count.
See the Falcon 7X ›All three types have their own pages on this site. Passenger figures above are taken from those pages, not from a manufacturer brochure.

We have found no published price for Amsterdam to Dubai from a source we would be prepared to reprint, so treat the figure above as a floor rather than a quotation. What follows is what actually sets the number on a sector this long.
Nearly seven hours in the air means the hourly cost of a long-range jet is the dominant line, and everything else - landing fees, handling, catering - is small change against it. That has an unusual consequence at this particular airport. Because Schiphol handles comparatively little business aviation for its size, there is rarely a suitable long-range aircraft simply standing there waiting; more often one has to be positioned in, and that empty leg is charged to somebody. Ask us early whether an aircraft is already in the Netherlands on your dates, because the answer can move the quotation more than the choice between the three types above. The other lever is the return: a few days in the Gulf with the aeroplane held is regularly cheaper than two one-way sectors, since it removes a positioning leg at both ends.
Published market rates for long-range jets in Europe run from about 8,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 20,100 EUR an hour at the top; dollar-quoted sources put the same class at 12,000 to 17,000 USD an hour. Those are published market rates collected from broker price pages in August 2026, not our rates, and they are shown only so that you have something to measure a quotation against.
Our route data puts the busy window from November to March, with the flow reversing towards Europe between June and August. On this pairing the reversal matters more than the peak, because it decides whether the aircraft you want is already pointing your way.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| November to March | The Gulf season, and the direction of travel everyone wants. Long-range aircraft are committed early and Schiphol is not a field where spare ones sit around. | Four to six weeks out. Ask at the same time whether an aircraft is already in the Netherlands - it is the single biggest variable in the price. |
| June to August | The flow reverses and traffic runs towards Europe. Aircraft arriving into northern Europe have to get back east, which is exactly the movement you want to buy into. | The best window of the year for an eastbound empty leg out of the Low Countries. |
| April, May, September, October | The shoulder, and when the long-range fleet redistributes between the two seasons. | Two to three weeks is normally enough, and short notice is far more realistic than in midwinter. |
Seasonality for this pairing is taken from our own route research file for diamond.aero. Movement counts are EBAA 2023 as published by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024.
Almost nobody books seven hours in one direction and nothing else. These are the parts of the trip we are usually asked about at the same time.
The westbound Gulf sector we publish is Dubai to Munich. It is shorter than this one and flies on a heavy cabin rather than a long-range one, so if your return can land in southern Germany it is worth comparing.
Dubai to Munich ›Amsterdam to London, Nice and Zurich are all published routes from Schiphol, and every one of them is a different class of aircraft from this. Useful if the Gulf trip has a European leg bolted to the front of it.
Amsterdam to London ›On the longest sectors the whole-aircraft figure is what stops most enquiries. Jet sharing divides the cost of the aircraft across everybody on board rather than across your party alone.
