Private Jet Charter Dubai to Barcelona

Dubai to Barcelona by private jet takes about 6 h 57 over 5,176 km, Dubai International to Barcelona El Prat, normally on a long-range jet. Indicative price from €55 000 for the whole aircraft, one way. We quote against your dates within 30 minutes and the operations desk answers around the clock on +357 95 119759.

Out of the Gulf in a single leg, on the Catalan coast in time for dinner if the departure is timed for it. Two things need settling early on this side of the pairing: which Dubai field the aeroplane actually leaves from, and where it is going to stand once it reaches El Prat.

The route at a glance

Read westbound, this is the same 5,176 km and the same class of aeroplane, and slightly the harder of the two directions. Upper winds across the Middle East and the Mediterranean blow predominantly from the west, so the way home is normally flown into them; expect the estimate below to prove optimistic rather than pessimistic on this leg, though only the flight plan filed on the day will say by how much. At the far end, Barcelona El Prat counted 12,068 business-aviation movements in 2023, inside the EBAA top fifty (EBAA 2023). Those tables are European, so there is no comparable count for the departure end and this page prints none.

Distance is the great-circle figure between airport coordinates. Flight time is an estimate, not a measured block time: it comes from a simple model fitted to the flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, and it will move with routing, wind, slots and aircraft type. Your quotation carries the real schedule.

Which airports we use

The departure needs a decision and the arrival needs a shortlist. In Dubai the question is which of the two fields the aeroplane leaves from, and it is often not the one it landed at. In Catalonia the question is which field puts you nearest the address you are actually going to — El Prat for the city itself, but not for every destination.

AirportCodesRoleWhat that means for you
Dubai InternationalDXB / OMDBDepartureThe default departure and the field every distance and time on this page is measured from. Business aviation is handled away from the scheduled concourses, with customs and immigration at any hour, so a three-in-the-morning departure is a scheduling matter rather than an operational one. It is slot-coordinated at level 3, so your departure time is allocated rather than chosen — worth knowing when you are planning what happens at the other end.
Al MaktoumDWC / OMDWDeparture alternativeTwenty nautical miles south-west of the city, open around the clock, with its own customs and immigration and a 4,500 m runway. This is where your aeroplane will be if it has waited in Dubai for more than a day, for the reason set out below, so on a return leg it is the departure at least as often as it is the alternative. It is also the shorter drive from Dubai Marina and the Palm.
Barcelona El PratBCN / LEBLArrival12,068 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023), and the arrival for the city, the port and the Diagonal. Large and slot-coordinated. The pinch point is general-aviation parking rather than the runway, and it bites hardest in high summer and in congress weeks — tell us whether the aircraft is to wait for you or set you down and go.
Girona Costa BravaGRO / LEGEArrival alternativeNorth of Barcelona, and the sensible arrival if you are heading for the Costa Brava or the Emporda golf and wine country instead of the city. Also the fallback when El Prat parking has gone for a peak weekend. Ask us to set it honestly against the ground journey to your address before you choose it.
SabadellLELLArrival alternativeThe small general-aviation field north of the city, used mainly by light aircraft. Worth knowing about rather than planning around: for a long-range jet off a Gulf sector we will be quoting El Prat or Girona.

Which Dubai airport you actually depart from

Both Dubai fields take business jets, and on a westbound leg the departure is frequently not the airport you arrived at. Al Maktoum International (DWC / OMDW) lies twenty nautical miles south-west of Dubai International: open around the clock, with customs and immigration of its own and a 4,500 m runway.

Two rules move an aeroplane between them, and neither is a matter of preference. The first is the slot. Dubai International is coordinated at level 3, meaning demand on the schedule exceeds what the airport can take and every movement holds an allocated slot; Al Maktoum is level 2, where a slot is agreed rather than rationed. The second is the parking. Dubai International's own conditions of use require a business jet on the ground for more than twenty-four hours to be relocated to Al Maktoum — so if your aircraft has been waiting through a stay of several days, that is where you will board it.

The flying is unaffected either way: under ninety seconds separates the two at cruise, inside the error of every time on this page. The drive is not. Leaving from Downtown or the financial district, Dubai International is the shorter run; from Dubai Marina or the Palm, Al Maktoum is. Tell us where you will be on the morning of the departure and we will tell you which field the aeroplane should be waiting on.

Aircraft for Dubai to Barcelona

Range settles the shortlist before anything else is discussed. Nothing under a long-range cabin makes 5,176 km in one leg, and westbound into the wind is the direction in which that margin matters most: a technical stop bought to save on an hourly rate usually costs more than it saves once the ground time and the fuel uplift are counted. The three types below all cross nonstop.

Gulfstream G550

13 to 19 passengers on our fleet page. The answer when the party is large, or when the aeroplane that took you out has to bring everybody home together. Westbound it holds enough margin that a headwind is a matter of minutes rather than a change of plan.

See the Gulfstream G550 ›

Global 5000

13 to 14 passengers on our fleet page, in a cabin quieter than that suggests. Usually asked for when the flight home is a working one. The communications fit varies by individual aeroplane, so ask about the aircraft and not the type.

See the Global 5000 ›

Falcon 7X

13 to 16 passengers, and three engines rather than two — which some passengers weigh over desert and open water while others never consider it. It also takes shorter runways than the other two, which matters at Girona and at whatever follows Catalonia rather than at El Prat.

All three types have their own pages on this site. Passenger figures above are taken from those pages, not from a manufacturer brochure.

What it costs

From €55 000 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

We have found no published price for Dubai to Barcelona from a source we would reprint, so the figure above is a floor we have calculated and not a quotation. What follows is what moves it on a westbound sector this long.

Seven hours of flying is the bulk of the bill, so this route behaves nothing like the hour-long Spanish and Riviera hops elsewhere on this site: landing and handling stop being decisive, and the aircraft's hourly cost, the crew duty day and the positioning legs take over. Two things then dominate. The first is which hemisphere the aeroplane is starting in. A long-range jet already in the Gulf is one quotation; one that has to be flown out from Europe to collect you is another, and in the Gulf high season that difference is at its widest. The second is what happens at the Barcelona end. An aircraft that sets you down and departs is cheaper than one that waits, and in high summer or a congress week it may be the only version available at all — so tell us whether the aeroplane is staying, and for how long, at the enquiry rather than after we have quoted. If the same aircraft is taking you on to Palma, Madrid or the Riviera afterwards, say that too: it usually improves the number rather than worsening it.

Published market rates for long-range jets in Europe run from about 8,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 20,100 EUR an hour at the top; dollar-quoted sources put the same class at 12,000 to 17,000 USD an hour. Those are published market rates collected from broker price pages in August 2026, not our rates, and they are shown only so that you have something to measure a quotation against.

We have not found a published price for this exact city pair that we would be willing to reprint, so this page carries none. A number invented to fill a table is worse than no number at all. Tell us your dates and passenger count and you will have a real one, in writing, from our operations desk on +357 95 119759, 24/7.

When to fly, and when to book early

We publish no seasonal index for this pairing, so rather than invent one, here are the two calendars that meet on it. Traffic out of the Gulf towards Europe builds through the summer, which is exactly when Barcelona is at its own busiest and its general-aviation parking is tightest. Spanish business, by contrast, all but stops in August and comes back hard in September.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
June to SeptemberThe Mediterranean season at the arrival end, and the months when Gulf traffic runs towards Europe rather than away from it. Finding the aircraft is the easier half of the problem; finding it a stand at El Prat is the harder one.Two to three weeks out for a weekend arrival, and say at once whether the aeroplane is to wait. A same-day continuation removes the parking question altogether.
AugustThe tightest weeks at El Prat: handling windows and overnight stands run out before aircraft do, and a late arrival can cost a slot rather than merely time. Spanish corporate traffic, on the other hand, has gone away entirely.Six to eight weeks out for firm dates. If the stay is a long one, expect us to propose that the aircraft leaves and comes back rather than sits.
September to NovemberBarcelona's autumn quarter — the trade-fair and congress calendar at full stretch, and the busiest stretch of the year for Spanish domestic business flying.Book early for fair weeks, and ask us to compare Girona honestly against the drive to your address if El Prat is full.
December to MarchThe Gulf's own high season, so the competition sits at the departure end: long-range aircraft in the region are in demand, and westbound capacity is not the cheap direction it becomes in spring.Four to six weeks out, and ask about the outbound direction separately — it does not necessarily price the same as the way home.

Movement counts are EBAA 2023 as published by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024. The seasonal pattern reflects the Gulf season and the Spanish business and congress calendar rather than a published seasonal index for this city pair.

Onward from Barcelona

Barcelona is usually a staging point rather than an ending. The Balearics, the Riviera and Madrid are all short legs on the same aeroplane, and all of them are sectors we already run.

Across to Mallorca

Palma is a short hop from El Prat and a sector we run in both directions. If the week ends on the islands rather than in the city, the whole thing can be priced as one trip.

Barcelona to Palma de Mallorca ›

Along the coast to Nice

About an hour on a light cabin, and the usual way people join the Riviera to a Spanish arrival without going back through a scheduled terminal.

Barcelona to Nice ›

Inland to Madrid

The busiest domestic corridor in Spain and a routine private-jet leg. Useful when the trip is business at both ends and the train timetable does not fit.

Questions we get about this route

How long does Dubai to Barcelona take?
The estimate on this page is about 6 hours 57 minutes for a great-circle distance of 5,176 km. It comes from a model fitted to the times this site publishes rather than from measured block times, and it draws no distinction between the directions. Westbound is the slower half in practice, because the prevailing upper winds on this routing run from west to east and you are flying into them; on a leg this long that is worth up to half an hour. Treat the figure as a floor and the filed flight plan as the answer.
Do we depart from Dubai International or Al Maktoum?
Whichever field the aeroplane is standing on, and after a stay of more than a day that is usually Al Maktoum: Dubai International's conditions of use require a business jet on the ground beyond twenty-four hours to be relocated there. If the aircraft is arriving to collect you rather than waiting for you, Dubai International is the default. The two are under ninety seconds apart at cruise, so the choice is about your drive to the airport and not about the flight.
Which Barcelona airport do you fly into?
El Prat unless you tell us otherwise. It is the arrival for the city, the port and the Diagonal, and it is what every distance, time and price here is calculated to. Girona is the sensible alternative for the Costa Brava and the Emporda, and a fallback when El Prat has no room for a weekend. Sabadell exists and is worth knowing about, but it is a light-aircraft field rather than somewhere we would put a long-range jet off a Gulf sector.
Is parking at El Prat a problem if the aircraft waits for us?
It can be, and it is the commonest surprise on Spanish arrivals. El Prat's constraint is general-aviation stands rather than runway capacity, and in high summer and congress weeks the room for an aeroplane to sit and wait is genuinely scarce. Often the cheaper and safer arrangement is for the aircraft to set you down and leave, then come back for you. Say at the enquiry whether it is to stay and for how long, and we will confirm the stand alongside the flight.
What moves the price on the way back from the Gulf?
Where the aeroplane starts, and what it does after Barcelona. A long-range jet already in the Gulf prices differently from one flown out from Europe to collect you, and in the Gulf high season that gap widens. After the landing, an aircraft that waits costs more than one that leaves — and if it is carrying you on to Palma, Madrid or the Riviera afterwards, that usually helps the number rather than hurting it. Landing and handling fees, which dominate an hour-long hop, barely register on a seven-hour one.
When is Barcelona hardest to get into?
August for stands, and the Mobile World Congress fortnight in late February and early March for everything at once. September to November is the busiest stretch of the year for Spanish domestic business flying, and fair weeks inside it tighten quickly. None of this makes an arrival impossible; all of it makes an early conversation about parking worth having.
Can we get an empty leg from the Gulf into Spain?
Sometimes. An empty leg is a positioning flight with nobody aboard, and the published discount on one runs from 50 to 75 percent. Westbound they appear when long-range aircraft leave the Gulf season for the European one, which makes the spring shoulder the likeliest window. They are never guaranteed and they rarely fit a fixed date, so mention any flexibility when you enquire.
Can we book this at short notice?
Often, and it is a common way this leg is bought — a return date moves and the aeroplane has to be found again. What decides it is where a suitable aircraft is standing, whether the Dubai slot can be had, and whether El Prat can take the arrival at the hour you want. The operations desk answers around the clock on +357 95 119759 and will tell you straight away whether the timing works rather than promise and check later.
Can the same aircraft take us on from Barcelona?
Yes, and it is often the cheaper way to do it. Palma, Nice and Madrid are all short legs from El Prat and all sectors we already publish, so a continuation can be priced as one trip instead of two. It also settles the parking question, because an aeroplane that carries straight on never needs a stand at El Prat.
