Madrid to Ibiza by private jet takes about 1 hour over 460 km, out of Barajas and into Ibiza, comfortably on a light jet. Indicative price from €2 900 for the whole aircraft, one way. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; the operations desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.
An hour east from the centre of Spain to the Balearics - a domestic flight with no border, no passport hall and no customs at either end. The island arrival is the only part that needs planning, and only from July. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs.
REQUEST A QUOTEThe most straightforward of the mainland-to-Ibiza sectors, and the one where the numbers flatter the route rather than warn you about it. Madrid Barajas recorded 14,754 business-aviation movements in 2023 and Ibiza 14,383 - two of the busiest private-aviation airports in Spain, an hour apart, with no frontier in between. That last point does more for the passenger experience than any aircraft specification: a domestic Spanish flight has no passport control and no customs, so the time between the car and the cabin is genuinely a few minutes at each end. What remains is the island in high summer, and that is a question of slots rather than of aeroplanes.
One obvious departure with a dedicated executive terminal, one secondary Madrid field that exists for light aircraft, and an arrival that is not a choice. The useful reading here is the last row - everything before it is simple.
| Airport | Codes | Great-circle to Ibiza | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Madrid Barajas | MAD / LEMD | 460 km | The default and, for a business jet, the only sensible Madrid departure. About thirteen kilometres north-east of the centre, with private traffic handled at its own executive terminal well away from the scheduled piers. It is a large, slot-coordinated airport, but business aviation is well provided for and the ground time is short. |
| Madrid Cuatro Vientos | LEVS | similar | A general-aviation field to the south-west of the city, used by light aircraft and flight training rather than by business jets on a sector like this. Listed so that you know why we have not proposed it. |
| Ibiza | IBZ / LEIB | arrival | A single-runway island airport carrying more private movements in four months than most capitals manage in twelve. Private traffic has its own handling, but it queues for the same runway as the scheduled airlines and competes for the same finite apron. In practice that means your landing time is allocated and your parking has to be requested - and in the last fortnight of July and through August neither is granted casually. |
| Palma de Mallorca | PMI / LEPA | the fallback | Worth knowing about for the worst August weekends, when Ibiza genuinely cannot take a movement at any workable hour. It adds a boat or a second short flight at the end of the journey, so we propose it only when it solves a real problem. |

An hour in the air asks nothing of any of these aeroplanes, so the choice comes down to the party, the luggage and - in August - which types can be given a stand at Ibiza. Nobody needs a stand-up cabin for sixty minutes, and on this sector the smallest aircraft that fits is usually the right one.
Six to eight seats, 2.27 cubic metres of baggage space, and enough range to fly this sector seven times over. None of that is why it dominates the route: it dominates because Barajas usually has one free, and on a Friday in July that is the only specification that matters.
See the Embraer Phenom 300 ›A smaller cabin, up to six or seven seats, and an aeroplane we propose deliberately rather than apologetically. Its footprint is modest, which on an island that rations stands in August is an operational advantage the brochures never mention.
See the Cessna Citation CJ2 ›Another light cabin of the same generation, and the aircraft named in one of our own published Ibiza empty-leg examples. Mention it by name if your travel dates have a day of give in them - it is the sort of machine that turns up repositioning.
See the Cessna Citation Bravo ›All three types are on our own fleet pages. Larger cabins fly the sector regularly when a group is travelling together for a week rather than a weekend.

No published price for the Madrid to Ibiza city pair has reached us from a source we would be willing to reprint, so the figure above is our own floor rather than a quotation. The table below gives third-party hourly references for the cabin class instead.
An hourly rate describes this route badly, and it is worth saying why. An hour of flying is only part of what the aeroplane's day costs: crew, handling at Barajas and at Ibiza, landing and parking fees, minimum charges, and the empty leg somebody pays for when the aircraft cannot stay on the island. In August it almost never can, so the booking is really two sectors plus a repositioning flight. In May or October the same aeroplane can usually wait, and the arithmetic changes completely. Being a domestic flight helps in one respect that does not show up in any table: there is no border, so there is no passport queue, no customs and no advance passenger information to submit - which removes both time and administration from the day.

Madrid and Ibiza have opposite summers. The capital empties in August while the island fills, and the traffic on this sector is largely the same people moving from one to the other.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| May and October | The shoulders, and the best value of the year. The island is open, Ibiza is not full, and Madrid is still working normally. | A few days ahead is enough. These are the weeks when an empty leg going your way is most likely to exist - ask about one while you book. |
| June and September | The island working at full strength without the August squeeze. EUROCONTROL identifies these two months as the genuine annual peaks of European business flying, and this sector follows that pattern closely. | Ten days to a fortnight for a weekend. The landing time on the island should be applied for the moment the arrival date is settled, before anything else is agreed. |
| July and August | The capital empties southwards and eastwards at once. At the island end the apron is the limiting factor rather than the fleet, and the Friday-out, Sunday-back pair is the hardest combination of the week to obtain. | Three to four weeks for a weekend. Decide early whether the aeroplane is staying or leaving, because that single decision carries most of the quotation. |
| November to April | The island winds down and the sector nearly stops. Madrid carries on as a year-round business-aviation city, but very little of that traffic goes to the Balearics. | Short notice is easy and pricing is at its lowest. Check operating hours at the Ibiza end for winter dates rather than assuming them. |

Nothing about this trip ends at the terminal door. Tell us the final address before you leave Madrid - in high summer the landing time gets requested around it rather than adjusted to it afterwards.
The ramp to a berth is the usual sequence, and a large share of parties carry on to Formentera by water. Name the marina and the hour you are due aboard.
Ask about transfers ›Palma is a short hop from Ibiza and the two are often combined in one trip. Both directions are published.
Palma to Ibiza ›Plenty of trips finish somewhere other than where they started. Barcelona and Malaga are both an hour or so from the island and both are published.
