Private Jet Charter Ibiza to Madrid

Ibiza to Madrid is 460 km and about an hour in the air, comfortably a light jet, both ends in Spain and therefore nothing to file beyond the ordinary. Indicative price from €2 900 for the whole aircraft, one way. The hour of flying is never the problem; leaving the island at the hour you want in August sometimes is. +357 95 119759, any hour.

An hour west to the capital, from a single-runway island to one of the largest airports in Europe. The contrast is the whole story of this route: the departure is where your day can slip, and the arrival is where it never does. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, arranged 24/7.

The route at a glance

A domestic sector between two places that could not be less alike. Ibiza is a single-runway island airport carrying more private movements in four months than most capitals manage in twelve: 14,383 business-aviation movements in 2023 on an island of 570 square kilometres. Private traffic there has its own handling, but the runway and the apron belong to everybody. Madrid Barajas counted 14,754 business-aviation movements in the same year and puts private traffic through an executive terminal, so the ground time at the far end is short by design.

Distance
460 km
Great-circle between airport coordinates, Ibiza to Madrid Barajas; the track actually flown is longer than the straight line
Flight time
approx. 1 h 00
A model estimate rather than a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction. On an hour the departure slot matters more than the wind
Departure
IBZ
Ibiza LEIB, one runway, separate business-aviation handling, shared slot and shared ramp; about seven kilometres from Ibiza Town
Arrival
MAD
Madrid Barajas LEMD, about thirteen kilometres north-east of the centre, with private traffic handled at its own executive terminal
Typical aircraft
Light jet
Phenom 300, Citation CJ2 or Citation Bravo – over 460 km the cabin is a comfort decision and never a range one
Busiest months
Jun – Sep
The island season, and it is the departure end that fills rather than the capital – Madrid in August is one of the quieter European capitals
The distance is a great-circle figure between airport coordinates, so the track actually flown is longer than it. The time is a model estimate and not a measured block time: the model is fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, it makes no distinction between the outbound and the return, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

One field at each end that actually matters, and two rows below them that exist so you know why we have not offered them. The decision on this route is not which airport but which hour.

Palma de MallorcaPMI / LEPAthe fallback at the island endWorth knowing about for the worst August weekends, when Ibiza genuinely cannot take a movement at any workable hour. Aircraft for Ibiza to Madrid

Four hundred and sixty kilometres is easy for anything with a jet engine. On this route the aircraft question is partly a ground question: what fits comfortably on a crowded island apron on the day you want to leave.

Light jet

The default, and the category that gives us the most room to manoeuvre on an August morning. Six passengers with normal luggage, an hour in the air, and the easiest aircraft to place on the ground at the island end.

Midsize jet

For a larger party or the luggage a long stay generates. Entirely comfortable in the air; ask us early about parking if the date falls in the peak weeks.

Turboprop

A real economy on a sector this length, at the cost of a few minutes. It also sits more easily on a full apron, which in August is occasionally the deciding argument.

What it costs

Indicative price from €2 900 for the whole aircraft, one way. It is a floor for a light jet on an ordinary day, and on this route the word «ordinary» carries a lot of weight.

Out of season the arithmetic is simple: the minimum charge and the positioning flight dominate an hour of flying, and the price sits close to the floor. In July and August the picture changes, and not because the aircraft is worth more. It changes because a departure slot and a parking space on the island become scarce, and because the aircraft that would otherwise be idle in Madrid is already working the Balearics.

Two honest ways down. Fly mid-week rather than at the weekend changeover. And ask about empty legs: Ibiza produces them in quantity, because aircraft deliver parties in and a good many leave without anybody aboard.

When to fly, and when to book early

June to September is the season, and inside it the pressure is concentrated in hours rather than spread across days: Friday and Sunday evenings, and Monday mornings. Outside those months this is an ordinary domestic hop that can be arranged the same day.

Book early for August, and book the return at the same time as the outbound. The constraint is the island's slot and apron rather than the aircraft, and the return into Ibiza is frequently tighter than the flight out of it.

If you are travelling to catch something in Madrid – a connection, a meeting, a dinner – give us that hour first. On this route we plan backwards from the fixed point, because the flexible part is at the island end and the island end is the one that moves.

Onward from Madrid

Madrid is a hub in the literal sense, and a great many of these trips continue rather than stop. Arranged with the outbound leg, the onward sector uses the aircraft already assigned to you.

Madrid to Ibiza

The return crossing, and the half most people book at the same time. Booking both together usually costs less than two separate one-way flights, and it secures the island slot in advance.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Ibiza to Madrid, and how much ground time should we allow?
About an hour in the air over 460 km. Allow roughly fifteen minutes on the ground at each end at a business terminal, and more at Ibiza in the peak weeks – not because the handling is slow but because the apron is full. The flying figure is a model estimate fitted to the flight times we publish ourselves rather than a measured block time.
Why is leaving Ibiza harder than arriving in Madrid?
Because the island has one runway and a compact business-aviation apron, and between mid-June and mid-September demand exceeds both. Private traffic has separate handling, but the slot and the parking are shared. Barajas, by contrast, is a very large airport with an executive terminal, and an arriving business jet is a routine movement there at any hour.
Is there a border to cross?
No. Ibiza and Madrid are both in Spain, so this is a domestic flight: no passport desk and nothing beyond the ordinary filing. Identification should be carried for the handling agent, but there is no immigration step in the schedule.
What does €2 900 include, and when does it stop applying?
It is an indicative floor for the whole aircraft, one way, on a light jet outside the peak. In August the real figure is driven by slot and parking availability at the island end rather than by the hour of flying. Send the dates and you get a real number rather than a floor.
Why is Cuatro Vientos listed if you do not use it?
So that you know it has been considered. It is a general-aviation field south-west of Madrid used by light aircraft and flight training rather than by business jets on a sector like this. Naming it is more useful than leaving you to wonder whether we overlooked a closer airport.
What happens if Ibiza cannot take us at all?
On the worst August weekends that is a real possibility, and the honest fallback is Palma de Mallorca. It is a different island, so it costs you a boat or a second short flight, and we propose it only when the alternative is not flying. We would rather name it in advance than produce it as a surprise on the morning.
Are there empty legs on this route?
Yes, and more than on most. Aircraft deliver parties into Ibiza constantly through the summer, and a good many leave empty, particularly mid-week. The discount range brokers publish is 50 to 75 percent. The trade is that the date and roughly the hour are somebody else's. Current empty legs
How late can we book?
Outside the season, the same day. Inside it, as early as you can: the aircraft is usually findable and the slot frequently is not. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759, staffed twenty-four hours a day, and you will be told what genuinely exists on your dates.
