Amsterdam to Ibiza by private jet takes about 2 h 20 over 1,517 km, out of Schiphol and into Ibiza, normally on a midsize jet. Indicative price from €10 500 for the whole aircraft, one way. Two hours and twenty minutes south-west, from one of the most tightly coordinated airports in Europe to an island with a single runway. This is the one Ibiza route where both ends are constrained, and that is worth knowing before you fix a date. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs.
REQUEST A QUOTEAlmost every other sector into Ibiza has a relaxed departure and a difficult arrival. This one has two difficult ends, which is the single most useful thing to understand about it. Schiphol recorded 14,508 business-aviation movements in 2023 and Ibiza 14,383 - two airports of almost identical business-aviation size - but both are slot-managed and neither has capacity to spare in the weeks you most want to use them. The flying is straightforward: two hours and twenty minutes down the western seaboard on a midsize cabin. The planning is where this route is won or lost.
One default departure that is not always available at the hour you want, two genuine Dutch alternatives, and an arrival that is not a choice at all. On this route, unusually, the departure row deserves as much attention as the arrival row.
| Airport | Codes | Great-circle to Ibiza | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amsterdam Schiphol | AMS / EHAM | 1,517 km | The default, about fifteen kilometres from the city, with business aviation handled at its own general aviation terminal. It is a heavily slot-coordinated airport and general aviation fits around scheduled traffic rather than the other way round, so your departure hour is confirmed rather than chosen. Ask for the window before you build a day on top of it. |
| Rotterdam The Hague | RTM / EHRD | slightly shorter | About sixty kilometres south of Amsterdam and the most useful alternative on this sector. A far quieter environment for a business jet, frequently easier at short notice, and marginally closer to Ibiza. The right answer for anyone in The Hague, Rotterdam or the south of the Randstad - and often the right answer for Amsterdam too when Schiphol has no window. |
| Lelystad or Eindhoven | LEY / EHLE, EIN / EHEH | elsewhere in the Netherlands | Lelystad sits east of Amsterdam and Eindhoven well to the south. Both handle general aviation and both can make sense for particular parties or particular aircraft. We propose them when they solve something rather than as a general option. |
| Ibiza | IBZ / LEIB | arrival | One runway, shared all summer with very heavy scheduled traffic, about seven kilometres from Ibiza Town. Business aviation is handled separately; the runway slot and the ramp parking are not, and from July those two bind harder than the supply of aircraft. If the aeroplane cannot park it drops you and leaves. |

At 1,517 km a light jet flies this comfortably, and we still normally propose a midsize. Two hours and twenty minutes each way with a party going away for a week is a different proposition from an hour's hop, and holiday luggage fills a small hold long before it fills the seats.
Seven to eight passengers, a stand-up cabin and 2.55 cubic metres of hold - the largest of the three. Over two hours and twenty minutes with a holiday party and its luggage, the hold is usually the number that decides the type rather than the seat count.
See the Cessna Citation XLS+ ›Six to eight passengers, a full galley and a separate lavatory. At 5,463 km of range this sector is a long way inside it, which is what you want when the aircraft is continuing somewhere else afterwards rather than going straight home.
See the Hawker 800XP ›A newer midsize cabin with a flat floor and the quietest interior of the three. The comfortable choice for a group travelling together for a week, and for an evening return when people want to sleep rather than talk.
See the Cessna Citation Latitude ›All three types are on our own fleet pages. Light jets fly the sector too and cost less - say so if the number matters more than the cabin, and we will quote both.

No published price for the Amsterdam to Ibiza city pair has reached us from a source we would be willing to reprint, so the figure above is our own floor rather than a quotation, and the table carries hourly references for the cabin class instead.
Two constrained ends change the arithmetic in a way one constrained end does not. At Schiphol the departure hour is granted rather than chosen, and a slot that suits the crew's duty day is worth real money. At Ibiza, in July and August, there is no stand for the aeroplane to wait on, so it drops you and leaves - which means your booking is two sectors plus repositioning rather than one crossing. Put those together and the single most expensive shape on this route is a peak-weekend outbound with an open return. The cheapest is a shoulder-season pair booked together, where the aircraft can wait on the island and nothing has to reposition empty.

A Dutch holiday calendar meeting a Balearic one. The demand is almost entirely leisure, it concentrates hard into the school summer, and it disappears completely for half the year.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| May and October | The shoulders. The island is open, Ibiza is not yet full, and Schiphol is easier than in high summer. Aircraft are repositioning into and out of the Mediterranean. | A week ahead is usually enough, and these are the weeks when a repositioning flight going your way is most likely to exist. |
| June and September | Full season without the worst congestion, and the two months EUROCONTROL identifies as the genuine annual peaks of European business flying. | Two weeks for a weekend crossing. Ask us to request the Ibiza slot as soon as the arrival day is fixed, and the Schiphol window at the same time. |
| July and August | The Dutch school holidays and the peak of the island season arriving together. Both ends are under pressure at once, which does not happen on most Ibiza sectors. | Four weeks or more, and longer for a Friday or a Sunday. Ask what the aircraft does after it drops you - that answer is a large part of the price. |
| November to April | The island winds down and the sector effectively stops. Schiphol works all year, but very little of its private traffic goes to the Balearics in winter. | Short notice is realistic and pricing is at its softest. Check operating hours at the Ibiza end for winter dates rather than assuming them. |

What happens in the hour after the aircraft stops is worth settling before you leave the Netherlands, because in high summer the arrival slot gets built around it.
Most parties go from the ramp to a berth, and many carry on to Formentera by water. Give us the marina and the hour you are expected on board.
Ask about transfers ›The busiest movement of the week on every Ibiza sector. Book it with the outbound rather than after the weekend has begun.
