Palma de Mallorca to Ibiza is a 140 km hop of about 35 min in the air, island to island, normally on a light jet. Indicative price from €3 100 for the whole aircraft, one way. Send the dates and the passenger count and a written quotation follows inside 30 minutes; the operations desk is staffed at every hour on +357 95 119759.
Thirty-five minutes west across the water, and the shortest sector we publish. The aeroplane is the easy part; what takes the arranging is the arrival slot at Ibiza and, in season, whether the aircraft is allowed to stay the night once it has put you down. Whole aircraft and empty legs, 24/7.
REQUEST A QUOTETwo Balearic islands 140 km apart, and roughly ten weeks a year that decide everything about the route. EBAA counted 17,504 business-aviation movements at Palma in 2023 and 14,383 at Ibiza. The flying is almost a rounding error against the ground time here, so we treat this as a ground problem first and a flight second - and on this direction the ground problem sits at the far end, where a small island airport is asked each summer to absorb a great deal more than it was built around.
Two islands and two airports with almost nothing in common. Palma handles package holidays at industrial scale and a business jet is a small item on a very long list there; the departure hour is what you negotiate. Ibiza is where this page ends and where the work is: small, and for about ten weeks a year asked to take more than it was built around.
| Airport | Codes | Distance | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Palma de Mallorca | PMI / LEPA | 140 km | Where the sector starts, and the point the distance on this page is measured from. It is a very large holiday-charter airport with a general aviation terminal, which in August means the taxi and the departure slot are the variable rather than the availability of an aircraft. An early morning departure is worth far more to you here than a fast aeroplane is. |
| Menorca | MAH / LEMH | the third island | The third island, and the departure to ask about if you are actually starting from there rather than from Mallorca. A smaller field with fewer stands, where the aircraft normally has to be positioned in rather than found on the spot - so ask earlier than you would at Palma. |
| Ibiza | IBZ / LEIB | arrival | Where the sector ends, and the whole difficulty of the route. Through the season the arrival slot and the overnight stand are rationed; the aeroplane never is. There is nothing to clear on landing - this is a domestic Spanish flight with no border formalities and no customs - so the forty minutes after the aircraft stops are about handling and onward transport rather than paperwork. Give us the arrival time you want, not only the date, and we will confirm the handling window and tell you whether the aircraft can stay the night. |

At 140 km this is by far the shortest sector we publish - about 35 minutes, a good part of which is spent climbing and then descending again. Every light jet below flies it without thinking about it, so the type is not the decision. The genuine question on this direction is luggage, because a party going over to Ibiza for a week is not travelling light, and after that it is simply which suitable aircraft is already on the islands.
More aeroplane than 140 km needs, which is rather the point: in July it is the type most likely to be sitting in the Balearics already, so you are not paying to fly one in from the mainland before your day even starts.
See the Phenom 300 ›A small light jet, well suited to an island hop with hand luggage. The economical answer when the party is small and the trip is out to Ibiza and back within the day.
See the Citation CJ2 ›The value option here. Over 35 minutes cruise speed is worth nothing at all, so the sensible choice is whichever suitable aircraft is already on the islands rather than the quickest one on paper.
See the Citation Bravo ›Each of the three has its own page in our fleet. A larger cabin is arrangeable, and on this route it is the luggage rather than the distance that ever calls for one.
From €3 100 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.
There is no honest published price for a 35-minute island hop, because almost none of the cost is the flying. What you are buying is an aircraft and a crew for a slot in their day, plus the landing, the handling and - in season, on this direction - the parking at the Ibiza end.
Do not price this route from an hourly rate. The published class rates - EUR 4,600 to 7,300 per hour from a broker, from EUR 2,900 per hour from a broker, USD 3,750 to 4,200 per hour from a broker, all retrieved in 2026 - are for European light jets in general. Multiply any of them by 35 minutes and you get a number no operator will fly for. Every charter carries a minimum charge, and on a sector this short the minimum charge is simply what you meet.
Three things move the number in practice. Whether a suitable aircraft is already standing on the islands rather than on the mainland. Whether it can be released once it has put you down at Ibiza, or has to wait there for you - in the peak weeks that is not always the operator's choice to make. And the week you are asking about: in the first half of August, positioning an aircraft in from the mainland to fly a 35-minute hop makes for unattractive arithmetic, and we would rather say so plainly than dress it up. Send us the dates and we will tell you what it really looks like.
Ten weeks. That is honestly the whole story of this route, and going towards Ibiza it is the sharper half of the story: outside June to September there is very little private traffic between the islands, and inside it there is a good deal more arriving than the smaller of the two can comfortably take.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| June to September | The season, and effectively the only one. Ibiza is full, Palma is running at holiday-charter volume, and every operator in the western Mediterranean is working the same ten weeks. | Book as far ahead as you can and give us the arrival time rather than only the date. The Ibiza slot is the item that gets confirmed last, so it is the one to start on first. |
| The first half of August | The tightest fortnight of the year in the Balearics. Overnight parking at Ibiza is the scarcest thing on the island, and aircraft routinely set down, drop their passengers and leave again. | Expect the quotation to include a repositioning leg out of Ibiza. Ask us early whether the aircraft can stay, because that single answer changes the price more than the choice of type does. |
| May and October | The shoulder. Both islands are open, both airports are calm, and the same 35 minutes becomes an entirely straightforward piece of work. | Short notice is fine, and this is the cheapest and easiest time of year to cross to Ibiza. It is also the window in which an overnight stand is not a negotiation. |
| November to April | Almost nothing moves between the islands. The ferries and the scheduled airlines cover what little demand there is, and the charter fleet has left the Balearics. | Perfectly possible, but the aircraft will usually have to be positioned in. Ask about combining the hop with a mainland leg so that the positioning is not paid for twice. |
Landing at Ibiza is rarely the end of the journey. Formentera has no airport of its own, and if the trip carries on to the mainland it is a short leg on the same aircraft - both are easier to arrange before you leave Palma than after you have landed.
Formentera has no airport, so everyone arrives through Ibiza and continues by boat or by helicopter. We arrange the helicopter alongside the jet, which in August is a great deal easier than finding one after you land.
Helicopter charter ›If the trip continues to Madrid, the island-to-Barajas leg takes about 1 h 06 and puts you at the executive terminal of the Spanish long-haul hub.
Palma to Madrid ›Aircraft shuttle empty between the Balearics and the mainland all summer, and inter-island repositioning is common. On a sector this short an empty leg can be a genuinely small number.
Current empty legs ›Tell us your dates and how many of you there are. Your dedicated flight advisor will come back with aircraft options and a firm price.
