Private Jet Charter Larnaca to Geneva

Larnaca to Geneva is a 2,627 km sector of about 3 h 44 in the air, non-stop on a super-midsize cabin. Published references for the whole aircraft start at €22 700 one way; our own published empty-leg table has carried this pairing on a Citation Bravo at €10 000. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; our Cyprus desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.

The one route out of Larnaca with two separate high seasons — the Alpine winter and the Mediterranean summer — and consequently the one where the month you pick changes the answer most.

The route at a glance

Almost every route we publish out of Cyprus peaks in the summer. This one peaks twice, and the two peaks belong to different people. From December to March Geneva is the gateway to the Alps and every aircraft in Europe seems to want a stand there; from June to September the traffic is Mediterranean and largely running the other way. In between there are two quiet, cheap and easy shoulders that almost nobody asks about. That shape, rather than the distance, is what you are really booking around on this pairing.

Distances are great-circle figures between airport coordinates in the OurAirports open dataset, so the track actually flown is longer. The time is a model estimate rather than a measured block time, fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website; it makes no distinction between outbound and return, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

The Cyprus end of this decision is a short one. The Swiss end is not, because Geneva is only the right arrival if Geneva is where you are going — and for a good proportion of winter traffic on this sector, it is not. It is the airport you land at on the way to somewhere up a valley.

AirportCodesGreat-circle from LarnacaSuits you if
LarnacaLCA / LCLK2,627 kmThe default departure and the field every figure on this page is measured from. The island’s main business-aviation gateway and the practical airport for Nicosia, the eastern coast and most of Limassol. Our own desk here is staffed around the clock, which is what makes a pre-dawn departure — common when the plan is to ski the same afternoon — a scheduling question rather than an operational one.
PaphosPFO / LCPH2,555 kmSeventy-two kilometres shorter in the air and about an hour further from Nicosia by road. It suits the west of the island. Handling and aircraft availability are thinner, so it needs asking about in advance rather than on the day.
GenevaGVA / LSGGarrivalWhere most of this traffic lands, and the third-busiest business-aviation airport in Europe by 2023 movements. It is slot-coordinated, and between Christmas and early March both slots and parking stands are allocated well ahead. The practical consequence: in the ski season you book ground capacity at Geneva, and the aircraft type is the easy part.
SionSIT / LSGS2,538 kmThe shortest sector of all and, for Verbier, Crans-Montana and the Valais generally, an hour or more saved on the road at the far end. It is a smaller field with its own operational constraints and shallower handling, so it wants planning. When it fits, it is the single biggest improvement available on this route.

Aircraft for Larnaca to Geneva

2,627 km with a full cabin is a super-midsize sector. There is a second consideration here that does not arise on our other European routes: in winter the destination may be an Alpine field rather than Geneva, and Alpine fields impose their own requirements on aircraft performance and crew qualification. Tell us the final destination, not just the airport, before the type is settled.

Bombardier Challenger 350

Eight to ten passengers, a flat-floor cabin and generous hold volume — which on a ski trip is the specification that actually matters, because skis and boot bags fill a hold long before people fill the seats.

See the Bombardier Challenger 350 ›

Cessna Citation Sovereign

Nine to twelve passengers, a quiet cabin and good short-field behaviour. That last quality is why it appears on Alpine itineraries more often than its size alone would suggest.

See the Cessna Citation Sovereign ›

Gulfstream G280

Eight to ten passengers and the fastest of the three. On a February morning when the plan is to be on a mountain the same day, the half-hour it saves is the half-hour that makes the plan work.

See the Gulfstream G280 ›

All three types have their own pages in our fleet. Heavier cabins — Legacy 650, Challenger 605 — also fly this sector. If the real destination is Sion or another Alpine field, say so at the outset: it narrows the list of suitable aircraft and crews considerably.

What it costs

From €22 700 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

Three whole-aircraft references are published for this pairing across three cabin sizes, and our own empty-leg table has carried it once at a figure well below all of them. Both sets are printed below, clearly labelled, because they are not the same kind of number.

The three broker figures are charter prices for the whole aircraft, one way, and they spread by more than fifty percent from the smallest cabin to the largest — which is the honest answer to “what does it cost” on any route: it depends far more on the aeroplane than on the kilometres. Our own 10,000 EUR figure is an empty leg on a Citation Bravo, meaning an aircraft that had to make that flight anyway and sold the cabin at a discount. It is a real published price and it is also not repeatable to order.

On this route more than on our other European sectors, the date is what moves the number. A stand at Geneva in the second week of January is a different commodity from a stand at Geneva in the second week of May, and the quotation will say so. If your dates have any flexibility, this is the pairing on which to use it.

When to fly, and when to book early

Two peaks, two shoulders, and almost no dead time. Of everything we publish out of Larnaca this is the route where the month you choose changes the price and the availability most, and where a week’s flexibility is worth the most money.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
Late December to early MarchThe Alpine season. Geneva is slot-coordinated and in this window both the slot and the parking stand are allocated well in advance; the second half of February and the days around the New Year are the hardest of all. Aircraft are in Europe rather than the eastern Mediterranean, so positioning to Larnaca has to be planned.Four to six weeks, more for the New Year and the February half-terms. Book the return in the same conversation, and tell us the resort rather than the airport — Sion may change the whole plan for the better.
June to SeptemberThe Mediterranean season, running mainly in the opposite direction. Outbound Larnaca departures are frequently easier to place in August than people expect, and northbound empty legs appear regularly. One to two weeks. Ask about empty legs: aircraft that brought parties to the island have to go somewhere, and north is where they go.
April to May, and October to NovemberThe two shoulders, and the cheapest and easiest weeks of the year on this pairing in both directions. Geneva is quiet, Cyprus is warm, and a super-midsize cabin can usually be placed at a few days’ notice.A week is plenty. If your dates can move at all, move them here.
The January business weeksGeneva and the surrounding region carry a heavy business and conference load in January, layered on top of the ski traffic. It rarely stops a flight but it removes the easy arrival hours.Give us the hour you need to be on the ground, not the hour you would like to leave, and we will confirm the window before you build a day around it.

Beyond Geneva

For a large share of the winter traffic on this sector, Geneva is a transfer point rather than a destination. It is worth deciding that before the aircraft is booked rather than after.

Into the Valais directly

Sion is 2,538 km from Larnaca against Geneva’s 2,627 km, and for Verbier or Crans-Montana it removes a long drive. It needs planning — suitable aircraft, qualified crew, thinner handling — so raise it early.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Larnaca to Geneva by private jet?
About 3 hours 44 minutes non-stop over 2,627 km, and we publish the same figure for the flight back. From Paphos it is 2,555 km, and Sion — the Valais alternative — is 2,538 km from Larnaca. That time is an estimate from our published-times model rather than a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction. Allow roughly fifteen minutes on the ground at each end.
Why is January so much harder than May on this route?
Because Geneva is slot-coordinated and in the ski season the ground runs out before the sky does. It handled 34,273 business-aviation movements in 2023, and a large share of them fall between Christmas and early March. In that window a parking stand is allocated rather than available, and aircraft are concentrated in Europe rather than in the eastern Mediterranean, so positioning one to Larnaca has to be planned. In May none of that applies and the same trip is straightforward at a few days’ notice.
Should we land at Geneva or at Sion?
If the destination is Verbier, Crans-Montana or anywhere in the Valais, ask about Sion. It is 2,538 km from Larnaca against Geneva’s 2,627 km — a few minutes in the air — and it can remove an hour or more on the road at the end of a four-hour flight. It is a smaller field with its own operational constraints, suitable aircraft are fewer and crews need the right qualification, so it must be planned rather than chosen on the day. If Geneva itself is the destination, Geneva is the answer.
What are the border formalities?
Cyprus is a member of the European Union but not part of the Schengen area; Switzerland is in Schengen but not in the European Union. That combination means passport control at both ends and a customs position worth getting right in advance, particularly if you are carrying anything declarable. At business-aviation terminals the process itself is a few minutes beside the aircraft rather than a queue. Send us the complete passenger list with passport details well before the day.
How much does the whole aircraft cost?
Published references for this pairing run from about 22,700 EUR on a Citation CJ4, through roughly 28,800 EUR on a Legacy 500, to about 35,000 EUR on a Gulfstream G200, one way, whole aircraft (retrieved August 2026). The spread is the aeroplane, not the route. Published super-midsize hourly rates in Europe run from about 8,700 EUR to 15,000 EUR. None of those figures is our offer. Ask us for a written quotation against your dates.
Your own table shows 10,000 EUR for this route. Can we have that price?
That is an empty leg, and it is worth being precise about what that means. It was a Citation Bravo that had to make the flight anyway, with the cabin sold at a discount because the alternative was flying it empty. It is a real published price, and it is not a rate we can reproduce on request — it existed because of where that aircraft needed to be on that date. If your dates are flexible, empty legs on this corridor are worth watching. If they are not, the charter references above are the relevant numbers.
We are bringing ski equipment. Does that change the aircraft?
More often than the passenger count does. Skis, boards and boot bags consume hold volume disproportionately, and on a party of eight it is routinely the luggage rather than the seats that decides which aircraft we propose. Tell us what is coming as well as who is coming — it is a much more useful piece of information at the quoting stage than at the aircraft steps.
Can we buy single seats rather than the whole aircraft?
On flights we open for sharing, yes. Our published guidance for shared European departures out of Larnaca runs from about 1,500 EUR a seat upwards depending on the destination and the cabin, with a published Larnaca to Vienna example at 1,500 EUR and a Larnaca to Paris example at 2,000 EUR. Shared flights follow our schedule rather than yours. More about jet sharing.
How late can we book?
Outside the ski season, very late — we can have you airborne within a few hours of confirmation when an aircraft and the slots line up, and the Cyprus end is the part we arrange fastest because it is our own desk. Between Christmas and March it is a different question, and the honest answer is that the constraint is Geneva rather than us. Call +357 95 119759 at any hour and we will tell you straight away whether the dates are achievable rather than promise and check later.
