Larnaca to Vienna is a 2,036 km sector of just under three hours in the air, comfortably within a midsize cabin. Indicative price from €13 400 for the whole aircraft, one way — and on flights we open for sharing this is the route carrying our lowest published seat price, €1 500 on a Citation XLS+. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; our Cyprus desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.
Under three hours from Cyprus to central Europe, and the one route on this site where buying a single seat rather than an aeroplane is a genuinely mainstream option.
REQUEST A QUOTETwo things make this route different from the rest of our European work out of Larnaca. The first is that it is short enough — just over two thousand kilometres, just under three hours — to sit comfortably inside a midsize cabin, which widens the choice of aircraft and lowers the number at the end. The second is the shared-seat product. We publish a Larnaca to Vienna seat at 1,500 EUR, the lowest figure in our shared table, and it exists because this pairing generates the steady, repeatable, mixed-party demand that shared flying actually needs. If you are one or two people rather than a group, this is the route on which to ask about a seat before you ask about a charter.
One decision at each end, and both are easier than on our longer sectors. Vienna is the obvious arrival and is right for almost everyone; the interesting alternative is in a different country sixty kilometres away, and it is occasionally the better answer.
| Airport | Codes | Great-circle from Larnaca | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Larnaca | LCA / LCLK | 2,036 km | The default departure and the field every figure here is measured from. The island’s main business-aviation gateway and the practical airport for Nicosia, Limassol and the eastern coast. Our desk is on the field and staffed around the clock, which is what makes the early departures that a three-hour day return needs straightforward to arrange. |
| Paphos | PFO / LCPH | 1,987 km | Forty-nine kilometres shorter and about an hour further west by road. Right for the western half of the island; handling is thinner and fewer aircraft are available on the day, so it wants advance notice. |
| Vienna | VIE / LOWW | arrival | Where essentially all of this traffic lands. A large scheduled airport with a general-aviation centre of its own, 13,712 business-aviation movements in 2023, and straightforward ground handling by central European standards. It is the practical arrival for the city, for the institutional and diplomatic quarter, and for most of eastern Austria. |
| Bratislava | BTS / LZIB | 2,005 km | Thirty-one kilometres shorter in the air and roughly sixty kilometres from central Vienna by road — genuinely closer than some Vienna suburbs are. It is in a different country, which adds a border to the drive but not to the flight, since both are inside the Schengen area. It comes into its own when Vienna is congested or when the destination is east of the city. |
| Linz | LNZ / LOWL | 2,184 km | A hundred and forty-eight kilometres further in the air and the right arrival only if upper Austria rather than Vienna is where you are going. Worth knowing, rarely the answer. |

At 2,036 km this is genuinely a midsize sector rather than one a midsize aircraft has to be talked into. That matters practically: midsize cabins are the most numerous class moving around the eastern Mediterranean in any given week, which is why this route is usually quicker to arrange and cheaper to fly than the rest of our European work out of Cyprus.
Seven to eight passengers in a stand-up cabin with a 2.55 cubic metre hold. The default on this sector and the type our own published shared flight to Vienna uses, which is not a coincidence — it is the right size for a mixed party on a three-hour leg.
See the Cessna Citation XLS+ ›Six to eight passengers with a full galley, a separate lavatory and 5,463 km of range. The margin is surplus for Vienna alone and exactly right when Vienna is a stop on a wider central European week.
See the Hawker 800XP ›Nine passengers in the tallest cabin of the three, with a flat floor. The one to ask for when the party is large and travelling as a group rather than as individuals who happen to share a flight.
See the Cessna Citation Latitude ›All three types have their own pages in our fleet. Heavier cabins fly this sector too and are worth asking about for parties of ten or more, though on a three-hour leg they are rarely necessary.

We have found no published whole-aircraft route price for Larnaca to Vienna from a third-party source we would be willing to reprint, so the whole-aircraft figure above is calculated from published midsize hourly rates and the flight time on this page, rounded down. Our own published figure for this pairing is a seat rather than an aeroplane, and it is in the table below.
The 1,500 EUR seat is worth explaining properly, because it is the lowest number we publish anywhere and it is easy to misread. It buys one place on a flight we have opened for sharing: our aircraft, our schedule, a mixed party, a Citation XLS+. It does not buy the aircraft, it does not move to suit your morning, and it exists only when we have opened a departure. What it does do is make this route accessible to one or two travellers at a price that has nothing to do with chartering — which is why we mention it before the charter figure rather than after it.
For a whole aircraft, the calculated floor above is the honest starting point and three things move it. Positioning: midsize aircraft are plentiful in this part of the Mediterranean, so this is less of a factor here than on our longer sectors. The shape of the trip: on a three-hour leg, keeping the aircraft with you for a day or two is often cheaper than two one-way sectors. And the season, in the ordinary Mediterranean way — July and August cost more than May and October.

Vienna is a working city with an institutional and conference calendar of its own, and that keeps this route alive in months when our leisure routes have gone quiet. The Mediterranean summer is visible on it, but it does not define it.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| September to June, weekdays | The core of the route, and the reason the shared flights work. Steady, repeatable, mixed-party demand between Cyprus and central Europe — corporate, professional, institutional and family travel in roughly equal measure. Day returns are common. | One to two weeks for a charter. For one or two travellers, ask about a shared seat first: this is the route where it is most likely to exist on your dates. |
| June to September | The Mediterranean season, running mainly towards Cyprus rather than away from it. Northbound departures out of Larnaca are easier to place in August than most people expect. | One to two weeks, and ask about empty legs going north. Aircraft that brought parties to the island have to leave again. |
| May and October | The shoulder, and the cheapest and easiest weeks of the year in both directions. Vienna is comfortable, Cyprus is warm, and a midsize cabin is placeable at a few days’ notice. | A week is plenty. If your dates can move, move them here. |
| The Christmas and New Year fortnight | A short, sharp family-travel spike running one way and then the other inside two weeks, layered on top of Vienna’s own busy winter season in the city. | Commit early, and ask about the days either side of the obvious ones — they are considerably easier to place. |

Vienna sits at the western edge of central Europe, and for a good share of the traffic on this sector it is where the journey changes gear rather than where it ends.
This is the route with our lowest published shared seat, 1,500 EUR on a Citation XLS+. For one or two travellers it is a different product from charter and usually the right one.
How jet sharing works ›At 2,005 km it is the shorter sector and, for destinations east of Vienna, often the shorter drive too. Both are inside the Schengen area, so the border costs you nothing in the air.
Ask about Bratislava ›Vienna to Paris, London and Dubai are all routes we publish, which makes this a practical first leg of a longer trip rather than a terminus.
