Private Jet Charter Larnaca to Rome

Larnaca to Rome is a 1,983 km sector of about 2 h 55 in the air, Larnaca to Ciampino, and a midsize cabin crosses it non-stop with everyone on board. Indicative price from €13 100 for the whole aircraft, one way. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; our Cyprus desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.

The shortest of the European sectors we fly out of Cyprus, into the airport that sits closest to the centre of Rome, and the one route of the six where a midsize cabin is the right answer rather than a compromise.

The route at a glance

Under three hours and under two thousand kilometres puts this in a different class from the rest of our European work out of Larnaca. It is a midsize sector with margin, which means a wider choice of aircraft, shorter notice and a lower number at the end of it. The complication, such as it is, lives at the Roman end: Ciampino is the business-aviation field and is much the closer of the two Rome airports to the city, but it works under a cap on movements, so the departure and arrival windows are genuinely finite in a way that most European fields’ are not.

Distances are great-circle figures between airport coordinates in the OurAirports open dataset, so the track actually flown is longer. The time is a model estimate rather than a measured block time, fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website; that it lands within seven minutes of our own published figure for this route is a check rather than a guarantee. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

At the Cyprus end the question is which side of the island you are starting from. At the Roman end there is a real choice between a small field close to the city and a large one further out, and the right answer is not always the obvious one.

AirportCodesGreat-circle from LarnacaSuits you if
LarnacaLCA / LCLK1,983 kmThe default departure and the field every figure here is measured from. The island’s main business-aviation gateway, closest to Nicosia, the eastern coast and most of Limassol. Our desk is on the field and staffed around the clock, so an early departure to make a morning in Rome is a scheduling matter rather than an obstacle.
PaphosPFO / LCPH1,901 kmEighty-two kilometres shorter and about an hour further from Nicosia by road. The right departure for the west of the island. Thinner handling and fewer aircraft on the day, so it wants advance notice.
Rome CiampinoCIA / LIRAarrivalWhere most of this traffic lands, and the reason is geography: roughly 15 km from the centre against Fiumicino’s 30-odd, with the business-aviation terminal on the field. It recorded 17,129 business-aviation movements in 2023. It works under a cap on movements, which means slots are finite and the hour you fly is chosen from a set rather than picked freely.
Rome FiumicinoFCO / LIRF2,010 kmTwenty-seven kilometres further in the air and considerably further from the centre on the ground. It becomes the right answer when Ciampino has no window at the hour you need, when the aircraft is large, or when the party is connecting onward to a scheduled long-haul service.

Airport coordinates and codes: OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026. Ciampino movement count: EBAA 2023 via Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024. Larnaca does not appear in the EBAA European top fifty for 2023.

Aircraft for Larnaca to Rome

At 1,983 km this is genuinely a midsize sector rather than a sector a midsize aircraft can be persuaded to fly. That matters for the price and it matters for availability: there are far more midsize cabins loose in the eastern Mediterranean in any given week than there are super-midsize ones, which is why this route can often be arranged at shorter notice than the rest of our European work out of Cyprus.

Cessna Citation XLS+

Seven to eight passengers in a stand-up cabin with a 2.55 cubic metre hold. The default answer on this sector and the easiest to arrange at short notice, which on a three-hour hop is usually what people want.

See the Cessna Citation XLS+ ›

Hawker 800XP

Six to eight passengers, full galley and separate lavatory, with 5,463 km of range. The margin is surplus for Rome alone, and exactly right when Rome is the middle stop of a day that continues to Milan, Nice or Olbia.

See the Hawker 800XP ›

Cessna Citation Latitude

Nine passengers in the tallest cabin of the three, with a flat floor. The one to name when the party is large and travelling together, or when the same aircraft is carrying the group on to Sardinia afterwards.

See the Cessna Citation Latitude ›

All three types have their own pages in our fleet. Heavier cabins fly this sector too — our own published empty-leg example for Larnaca to Rome was flown on a Legacy 650 — and are worth asking about for parties of ten or more.

What it costs

From €13 100 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

We have found no published whole-aircraft route price for Larnaca to Rome from a source we would be willing to reprint, so the figure above is a floor worked out from published midsize hourly rates and the flight time on this page, rounded down. It is a sanity check, not a quotation.

Our own published table does carry this pairing, but as an empty leg: a Legacy 650 at 19,500 EUR. That is a real price and it is deliberately not the headline figure on this page, because an empty leg and a charter are different products. An empty leg is an aircraft that had to make the flight anyway, sold at a discount, on a heavy cabin that nobody chose for the distance. Using it as a “from” price for a midsize charter would be comparing two unlike things and calling the difference a saving.

What actually moves your number here is shorter and simpler than on our longer sectors. Positioning matters less, because midsize aircraft are more plentiful in this part of the Mediterranean. The Ciampino window matters more, because the cap makes the hour a real constraint. And the season matters in the ordinary Mediterranean way: July and August cost more and take longer to arrange than May and October.

When to fly, and when to book early

Cyprus and Italy have a good deal of ordinary business between them — shipping and maritime services above all — and that traffic runs on a normal calendar. Layered on top is the Mediterranean leisure season, which is what makes July and August feel different from the rest of the year on this pairing.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
June to SeptemberThe Mediterranean peak. Rome is hot, busy and full, and Ciampino’s finite windows are competed for. A good share of this traffic is not stopping in Rome at all but continuing to Sardinia, Tuscany or the Amalfi coast, which concentrates it into weekends. Two to three weeks, more for weekend dates. Tell us if Rome is a connection rather than the destination — it may change the arrival airport and it will change the aircraft.
May and OctoberThe best weeks of the year on this route. Warm at both ends, Ciampino noticeably easier, and a midsize cabin placeable at a few days’ notice.A week is usually plenty. This is where flexible dates are worth the most.
November to AprilBusiness rather than leisure, and steady. Maritime, legal and corporate traffic between Cyprus and Italy does not stop in the winter, and the weather at either end rarely interferes with operations.Short notice is realistic. It is also the window in which waiting a few days for an empty leg is most likely to pay off.
The Ciampino windowA daily rather than a seasonal constraint, and the one that shapes this route most. Movements at Ciampino are capped, so the departure and arrival hours are chosen from a set rather than picked freely.Give us the hour you need to be in Rome and we will work back from it. If the hour does not exist at Ciampino, Fiumicino at 2,010 km is the answer.

Onward from Rome

On this pairing Rome is a hinge as often as it is a destination, particularly in the summer, when a good share of the traffic is heading for the Italian coast or the islands.

North to Milan

Rome to Milan is a short hop and one of the commonest second legs of an Italian week, especially for parties combining a coastal stay with business in the north.

Rome to Milan ›

Across to the Riviera

Rome to Nice is a route we publish and a regular source of empty legs in both directions through the summer season.

Rome to Nice ›

Or on to Paris and London

Both are short sectors from Rome and both are routes we publish, which makes Ciampino a practical staging point rather than a terminus.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Larnaca to Rome by private jet?
About 2 hours 55 minutes non-stop to Ciampino over 1,983 km, and we publish the same figure for the flight back. Our own published empty-leg example for this route shows 02:48, seven minutes from the model estimate, which is a reasonable independent check. Fiumicino is 2,010 km and Paphos to Ciampino is 1,901 km. Allow roughly fifteen minutes on the ground at each end.
Ciampino or Fiumicino?
Ciampino unless something specific argues otherwise. It is roughly 15 km from the centre of Rome against Fiumicino’s 30-odd, it is the business-aviation field, and it recorded 17,129 movements of that kind in 2023. The catch is that movements there are capped, so the hour you fly is chosen from a set. Fiumicino is 27 km further in the air and a good deal further on the ground, and it becomes the right answer when Ciampino has no window at your hour, when the aircraft is large, or when you are connecting to a scheduled long-haul flight.
Why is a midsize aircraft enough here when your other Cyprus routes use super-midsize?
Because the sector is genuinely shorter. At 1,983 km Larnaca to Rome sits about a thousand kilometres inside Larnaca to Paris, and that is the difference between a midsize cabin flying comfortably with a full load and a midsize cabin trading luggage against fuel. It is also why this route is usually cheaper and quicker to arrange than the rest of our European work out of Cyprus: there are simply more midsize aircraft moving around the eastern Mediterranean in any given week.
What are the border formalities?
Cyprus is a member of the European Union but is not part of the Schengen area; Italy is in both. So this is an intra-EU flight that nonetheless involves passport control at both ends, in both directions. At a business-aviation terminal that is a few minutes beside the aircraft rather than a queue in a hall. Send us the complete passenger list with passport details in advance rather than at the aircraft steps and it is settled before you land.
How much does a private jet from Larnaca to Rome cost?
From about 13,100 EUR one way for the whole aircraft as our own indicative floor. We have not found a published whole-aircraft price for this exact pairing that we would be willing to reprint, so that figure is calculated from published midsize hourly rates — from about 4,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 12,900 EUR at the top — and the 2 h 55 flight time, rounded down. It is a floor and a sanity check rather than a quotation.
Your table shows 19,500 EUR for Larnaca to Rome. Why is the headline figure lower?
Because the two numbers describe different things. The 19,500 EUR is our own published empty leg, flown on a Legacy 650 — a heavy cabin far larger than this sector requires, sold at a discount because the aircraft had to make the flight anyway. The 13,100 EUR at the top of the page is an indicative floor for a midsize charter, which is the aircraft class the sector actually calls for. Neither is wrong; they are answers to different questions.
Can we go on to Sardinia or the Amalfi coast afterwards?
Frequently, and it is worth saying so at the quoting stage rather than later. If Rome is a stop rather than the destination, the aircraft we propose changes — a Hawker 800XP with range in hand is a different proposition from a cabin sized exactly for one sector — and so does the way we plan the ground time. Tell us the shape of the whole trip before you ask which aeroplane.
Are there empty legs, and can I buy a single seat?
Empty legs appear on this corridor regularly; our own published table has carried Larnaca to Rome on a Legacy 650 at 19,500 EUR. They are led by dates rather than routes, so tell us which day could move rather than which route you want. On flights we open for sharing you can also buy a single seat instead of the whole aircraft, with our published European seat guidance out of Larnaca starting at about 1,500 EUR. Current empty legs and more about jet sharing.
How late can we book?
This is the easiest of our European routes out of Cyprus to arrange at short notice, because midsize aircraft are plentiful in this part of the Mediterranean and the sector is under three hours. The binding constraint is usually the Ciampino window rather than the aeroplane. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759, which answers around the clock, and we will tell you straight away whether the hour you want exists.
