Geneva to Paris Le Bourget in about 56 minutes - by published count the busiest business-jet pairing in Europe. Two airports built around this exact traffic, and a national border between them that matters far more for what you are carrying than for your passport.
REQUEST A QUOTEWingX has named Geneva to Paris Europe's busiest business-jet airport pair (via BlueSky Business Aviation News, issue 734, 2024), and the pattern is not new: WingX-Advance counted 116 to 120 flights a month in each direction between January and June 2013 (via a broker). Geneva recorded 34,273 business-aviation movements in 2023 and Le Bourget 55,751 (EBAA 2023).
These two airports could hardly be less alike. Geneva is a busy international airport that happens to straddle a national frontier and shares its runway with scheduled airlines. Le Bourget exists purely for business aviation - three parallel runways, a dozen or so handling agents, and nobody queuing for a boarding pass.
| Airport | Codes | Distance | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geneva | GVA / LSGG | 409 km | The departure. Geneva sits directly on the French border and has a French sector on the far side of the field, which occasionally matters if your party is coming up from Annecy or the Haute-Savoie rather than from the city. Tell us which side you are arriving from and we will handle you on the right one. |
| Paris Orly | ORY / LFPO | alternative arrival | Your business is in the southern half of Paris. Orly is a scheduled airport that also takes business aviation, subject to slots, so it is a question we check on your dates rather than a default. For most passengers Le Bourget is the better answer. |
| Paris Le Bourget | LBG / LFPB | arrival | The arrival, and the busiest business-aviation airport in Europe with 55,751 movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). Business aviation only, north-east of central Paris, with enough competing handling agents that a well-known aircraft type gets parked, fuelled and turned round quickly. |

At 409 km and about 56 minutes this is the archetypal light-jet sector - the aeroplane spends most of it climbing and descending. Range plays no part in the choice. What people actually decide on is turnaround: a type the Le Bourget handlers see a dozen times a day is serviced faster than something unusual, and on a day return that is the time that counts.
The commonest light jet on this corridor and the easiest to arrange at short notice in either direction, because so many of them are already working the Geneva to Paris rotation. The hold takes ski gear, which between December and March is the deciding factor.

See the Citation CJ2 ›Often simply the aircraft that is already standing at Geneva or Le Bourget, which on the densest corridor in Europe is worth more than any specification difference. Good value on a date fixed well in advance.
See the Citation Bravo ›All three types are on our own fleet pages. Midsize and heavy cabins run this corridor constantly too, and we quote them on request.

We publish no price for Geneva to Paris, and the reason is instructive. On the busiest business-jet pairing in Europe the market moves every day: the same sector can be cheap because an aircraft needs to go back anyway, or dear because it is the second Friday in February.
Density is what makes this corridor unusual, and it cuts both ways. With Geneva at 34,273 business-aviation movements and Le Bourget at 55,751 in 2023, there is nearly always something available, and there is a constant supply of aircraft that have to reposition between the two anyway. That pushes the floor down and makes this one of the best empty-leg routes in Europe. But the same density means the peaks are savage: in the ski season, Saturday is transfer day at Geneva and the whole Alpine fleet is committed to it.
The second driver is the arrival end rather than the departure. Le Bourget parking is the constraint people underestimate - in a busy Paris week, and above all in a Paris Air Show year when the Salon itself takes over the field, a stand for an aircraft that is waiting for you is worth planning around. If your trip is a day return, tell us how long you need on the ground, because sending the aeroplane away and bringing it back is sometimes cheaper than leaving it parked.
For scale only, and not as a quotation for this sector: Brokers publish a European light-jet range of EUR 4,600 to 7,300 per hour, and others published USD 3,750 to 4,200 per hour for the class in August 2026. Those are hourly rates for a class of aircraft. A fifty-six-minute leg is never simply billed as fifty-six minutes of them.
Unlike most of the routes in this section, this one peaks in winter. Geneva is the gateway to the Alps, so December to March is the busy half of the year, with a second and gentler peak over the summer.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| December to March | The Alpine ski season, and the reason Geneva is what it is. Chamonix, Megeve, Verbier and the Tarentaise resorts all feed off this airport, and Saturday is transfer day - the single most congested day of the week at Geneva all winter. | Book three to four weeks out for a Saturday in the season, and consider flying Friday or Sunday instead. Say up front that skis are coming; it changes the aircraft. |
| June to September | The secondary peak, and a different customer. Summer traffic on this pair is corporate and family rather than Alpine - Geneva's banks, funds and commodity houses moving people to Paris, and Paris moving people to the lake. | A week is usually enough. Midweek is comfortably easier than Friday afternoon in either direction. |
| Paris event weeks | The Paris calendar can fill Le Bourget even when Geneva is quiet: the fashion weeks, the early-summer tennis, and in Air Show years the Salon at Le Bourget itself, which occupies the airport rather than merely visiting it. | Check the arrival end before you fix the aircraft. In those weeks the stand at Le Bourget runs out before the aeroplane does. |
| October and November | The quietest stretch of the year on this corridor. The ski fleet has not yet arrived and the summer traffic has gone, so aircraft are repositioning with nobody aboard more often than at any other time. | The best empty-leg window of the year on this pair. Ask if your dates can move by a day. |
Le Bourget is a hub in its own right, not just a destination. A large share of the passengers we fly up from Geneva are changing aircraft or carrying on the same day, and these are the sectors that follow most often.
Paris to Nice is the natural continuation for anyone heading south after meetings, and it runs on the same class of aircraft as the Geneva leg. A common two-sector day.
Paris to Nice ›Paris to Milan puts you back over the Alps in a little over an hour. It is a well-worn pairing for anyone combining a Paris morning with an Italian afternoon.
Paris to Milan ›Le Bourget is north-east of central Paris and the road in can be the slowest part of the whole journey. If the clock matters more than the cost, we arrange the helicopter leg as well.
