Hawker 800XP Private Jet Charter

The midsize jet named on more of our published routes than any other aircraft of its size: seventeen of them. 5,463 km of range, 863 km/h, six to eight seats that convert into beds, a hold isolated from the cabin and a published rate of 3,800 EUR an hour. This is the workhorse of our European network, and this page is about why.

Range, speed and cabin dimensions are specification figures for the type: the aircraft actually offered on your dates is a specific airframe with a specific interior, and its quotation carries the figures that bind.

What the range means in practice

5,463 km of published range, and exactly one route on this website is longer. That single exception is worth naming plainly, because everything else here is a yes.

The only published route beyond the range of this aircraft is London to Dubai at 5,500 km - short of the specification by 37 km. Thirty-seven kilometres is about three minutes of cruise, and it is exactly the kind of margin that should not be argued with: published range is a still-air, optimum-cruise, sensible-payload number, and there is no version of a fully loaded midsize jet that finds three minutes of fuel in a headwind. On that sector the answer is a long-range type, and our London to Dubai page names three.

The next longest, Amsterdam to Dubai at 5,169 km, leaves 294 km - still tight enough that it is a question for the operating crew rather than a table. Geneva to Dubai at 4,920 km leaves 543 km and Zurich to Dubai at 4,769 km leaves 694 km, which are real reserves rather than rounding errors. From Milan to Dubai at 4,662 km downwards, every remaining route we publish is comfortably inside the envelope.

That is the theoretical picture. The practical one is smaller and much more useful: our route research names the Hawker 800XP on seventeen published sectors, and they run from 722 km to 1,721 km. That band - roughly one and a half to two and a half hours - is where this aircraft is doing the job it was built for, and where the economics work. It is a Nice-to-Ibiza, London-to-Nice, Milan-to-London, Rome-to-Paris aeroplane, and there are more of those flights on this network than of anything else.

The rule that governs everything above: published range is a specification, not a clearance. The operating crew plan against the real weight, the real wind and the real alternates on the day. On a 900-kilometre European sector you will never hear about it. On a Gulf sector in this aircraft you might, which is why we have said where the line falls.

Below 2,400 km the question stops being interesting: every remaining route on this website is inside the range of this aircraft with room to spare. These are the mid-length ones, from about an hour and a quarter to two and a half hours by our own published flight-time estimates.

Distances are great-circle figures between airport coordinates from the OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026. Flight times quoted anywhere on this page are estimates from a model fitted to the flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes, not measured block times. The 19 routes shorter than 700 km are listed on the route index. Range figures are the ones published on our own fleet page and assume still air, optimum cruise and a sensible payload.

The cabin

6.50 m long, 1.83 m wide, 1.75 m high, six to eight seats that convert into beds, and a 1.40 m³ hold isolated from the cabin. Two of those numbers deserve a straight answer.

Standing up - the honest answer. Cabin height is 1.75 m. That is five feet nine, and it means most adult passengers will stoop slightly rather than walk upright. It is the trade this aircraft makes, and it is worth knowing before you board rather than after. If a full stand-up cabin is the priority in this size class, the Citation Latitude on our fleet page is listed at 1.83 m; the Citation Sovereign+ and Citation XLS+ are listed at 1.73 m, which is lower still.

A full-length cabin. 6.50 m, with a galley, a wardrobe and a lavatory at the rear of the aircraft. The wardrobe and the rear lavatory are what separate a midsize jet from a light one: on a two-hour flight with eight on board, a proper lavatory at the back rather than a curtained seat is the difference people actually remember.

Sleeping. Two to three berths, and the mechanism is the direct one - each seat converts into a bed. On the seventeen routes we quote this type for, none of which exceeds two and a half hours by our own published estimates, that is ample.

Luggage - the other honest answer. 1.40 m³, and it is the smallest hold of any aircraft on this page. It is isolated from the passenger compartment, which is the right architecture, but the volume is modest: the Citation Latitude is listed at 3.60 m³, the Citation Sovereign+ at 2.83 m³ and even the Gulfstream G150 at 2.27 m³. For eight passengers with cabin bags this is a non-issue. For eight passengers with ski bags heading to Courchevel, ask us about it before you book.

Speed. 863 km/h, or 466 knots. That is genuinely quick for the class - faster than the Citation Sovereign+ at 852 km/h and the Citation Latitude at 826 km/h on our own fleet page, and within four per cent of the large Challenger and Gulfstream types. On a 1,500 km sector it is worth a handful of minutes; over a season of flying, it is worth more than that.

Crew. A flight attendant is carried.

Cabin dimensions, berth counts, baggage volumes and the flight-attendant line are all taken from the specification tables published on this website, including the comparison figures quoted for other types.

What it costs

From 3,800 EUR per flight hour. That is the rate Diamond Executive Aero Services publishes for the Hawker 800XP. It is a rate card, not a quotation.

An hourly rate is the largest single component of a charter price and it is never the whole of it. A quotation also carries the cost of positioning the aircraft to your departure airport and away again afterwards, landing, handling and parking charges at both ends, crew duty and, on some dates, overnight costs. Two trips of the same duration on the same aircraft can differ substantially because one starts where the aeroplane already is and the other does not.

Used carefully, though, the hourly rate is a good sanity check. Take the flight time we publish for a route, multiply, and you have the flight-time component of the price before the fixed costs are added. The examples below use our own published flight-time estimates.

London to Malaga1,721 km2:35approx. 9,800 EUR

The same 3,800 EUR hourly figure appears on our rate card for the Citation XLS+, Citation Latitude, which is what makes it a class rate rather than an aircraft rate. Choosing between types inside a band is a decision about cabin, berths and luggage, not about the hour.

The column on the right is arithmetic, not an offer: hourly rate multiplied by our own published flight-time estimate, rounded to the nearest hundred. It excludes positioning, landing, handling, parking, crew and taxes, and the flight time itself is an estimate rather than a measured block time. Only a written quotation from Diamond Executive Aero Services against your dates is a price. Call +357 95 119759, 24/7.

Which routes we quote it on

Our own route research names the Hawker 800XP as a suggested aircraft on 17 of the routes published on this website. They run from 722 km to 1,721 km. These are not the only sectors it can fly - the range table above covers that - they are the ones where we would put it forward first.

Questions we get about this aircraft

What does a Hawker 800XP cost per flight hour?
Our published rate for this type is 3,800 EUR per flight hour. That is a rate card and not a quotation: positioning, airport and handling charges, crew duty and the date itself all move the final number, and only a written quotation against your dates is a price. As a worked example, our published flight-time estimate for London to Nice is 1 h 46, which at the hourly rate is about 6,700 EUR of flight time before anything else is added.
How far can a Hawker 800XP fly?
5,463 km, or 2,950 nautical miles, on the figure published on our fleet page. That covers every route on this website except one: London to Dubai at 5,500 km, which is 37 km beyond it. Thirty-seven kilometres is about three minutes of cruise and is not a margin worth arguing with, so on that sector we would put you on a long-range type instead.
Can you stand up in a Hawker 800XP?
Not quite, for most adults. The cabin height on our fleet page is 1.75 m, so a passenger of average height stoops slightly. We would rather say that here than let you discover it on board. If headroom is the priority at this size, our fleet page lists the Citation Latitude at 1.83 m on the same 3,800 EUR hourly band.
How many passengers and how many beds?
Six to eight passengers and two to three berths, formed by seats that convert into beds. A flight attendant is carried, and there is a galley, a wardrobe and a lavatory at the rear.
Is the baggage hold big enough for skis or golf?
It is the smallest on this page at 1.40 m³, and it is isolated from the passenger compartment. For eight people with cabin bags it is fine. For eight people with ski bags to Courchevel it is the number to check before booking - the Citation Latitude at 3.60 m³ and the Citation Sovereign+ at 2.83 m³ carry substantially more.
Which routes do you quote it on?
More than any other midsize type we carry - our route research names the Hawker 800XP on seventeen published sectors, from Nice to Ibiza at 722 km up to London to Malaga at 1,721 km. They are listed in full further down this page. That one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half hour band is where the aircraft and the economics line up.
Is it fast for its size?
Yes. 863 km/h, or 466 knots, on our fleet page - faster than the Citation Sovereign+ at 852 km/h and the Citation Latitude at 826 km/h, and within four per cent of the large Challenger and Gulfstream types at 893 km/h. On a European sector that is a few minutes; across a season of flying it adds up.
