The route at a glance

Linate recorded 25,757 business-aviation movements in 2023, seventh in Europe (EBAA 2023), which for an airport that sits eight minutes from the ring road is remarkable. At 4,662 km this is the shortest of our long-range Gulf pages, and the practical consequence is that the aircraft has more margin here than on any of the others - useful when the load is heavy or the day is hot.

Distance is the great-circle figure between airport coordinates. Flight time is an estimate, not a measured block time: it comes from a simple model fitted to the flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, and it will move with routing, wind, slots and aircraft type. Your quotation carries the real schedule.

Which airports we use

Milan has two airports that take private traffic and this page is about the near one. Linate is inside the city in a way Malpensa is not, and for business aviation that difference is measured in an hour of motorway rather than in runway length.

Dubai InternationalDXB / OMDBDepartureThe arrival recorded for this route in our route data, with business aviation handled away from the scheduled concourses and customs available at any hour.
Milan LinateLIN / LIMLarrival25,757 business-aviation movements in 2023, seventh in Europe (EBAA 2023), and the airport all figures on this page are calculated from. Its virtue is position: it is the closest major field to central Milan, which is why the business-aviation traffic concentrates there rather than at Malpensa.

The second Dubai airport, and when you land at it

Dubai has two airports and both take business jets. We quote Dubai International unless there is a reason not to. Al Maktoum International (DWC / OMDW), twenty nautical miles south-west of the city, is the alternative: open around the clock, with its own customs and immigration, and a 4,500 m runway that takes aircraft considerably larger than anything on this route.

Two things decide which one you arrive at, and neither of them is our preference. The first is slots: Dubai International is a level 3 slot-coordinated airport, which means demand for the schedule exceeds what the airport can take and every movement needs an allocated slot. Al Maktoum is level 2, where a slot is agreed rather than rationed. The second is parking: under Dubai International's own conditions of use, a business jet on the ground there for more than twenty-four hours has to be relocated to Al Maktoum. On a trip of several days that rule is usually what moves the aircraft.

The flight itself is the same either way - the two airports are less than a minute and a half apart at cruise, which is inside the error of any flight-time estimate. The drive is not the same: Al Maktoum is the closer of the two to Dubai Marina and the Palm, and the farther from Downtown and the financial district. Tell us the address you are heading to and we will say which airport makes the shorter journey for you.

Slot levels and airport data: AIP United Arab Emirates, AD 2 OMDB and AD 2 OMDW, AIRAC cycle 2026-P06, effective 6 August 2026. Twenty-four hour ground-time rule: Dubai Airports Conditions of Use, paragraph 3.13(j).

Aircraft for Dubai to Milan

At 4,662 km this is still firmly a long-range sector, but it is the shortest of them on this site, and that shows up as margin rather than as a cheaper category. The same three types cross it with more fuel in hand than they would on the London or Amsterdam pairing, which makes them less sensitive to a full cabin or a summer afternoon departure.

Gulfstream G550

Our fleet page lists 13 to 19 passengers. On the shortest of our Gulf sectors it is comfortably inside its own limits at any realistic load, which is the reason to take it when the party is large and the luggage is real rather than notional.

See the Gulfstream G550 ›

Global 5000

Listed at 13 to 14 passengers. A wide, quiet cabin that suits a six-hour working flight, and a type Linate handlers see often enough that the turnaround is unremarkable.

See the Global 5000 ›

Falcon 7X

Listed at 13 to 16 passengers. Its short-field performance is worth more here than on most long sectors, because Linate is a single-runway city airport rather than an open field, and the margins on a hot day are not infinite.

All three types have their own pages on this site. Passenger figures above are taken from those pages, not from a manufacturer brochure.

What it costs

From €50 100 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

We have found no published price for Dubai to Milan from a source we would be prepared to reprint, so treat the figure above as a floor rather than a quotation. What follows is what actually sets the number on a sector this long.

The thing that makes this sector price differently from the other European Gulf routes is that it is the shortest of them, and hourly cost dominates a long flight. Roughly an hour less in the air than the London pairing is roughly an hour less of a long-range jet, and on these rates that is not a rounding error. The second factor is Linate itself: it is slot-controlled and it closes overnight, so a departure time that suits your meeting may or may not suit the airport, and the answer to that question changes the aircraft as well as the price. The third, as everywhere on this site, is the return - a few days in the Gulf with the aircraft standing by is frequently cheaper than two separate one-way sectors. Tell us the shape of the whole trip and we will price it both ways round.

Published market rates for long-range jets in Europe run from about 8,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 20,100 EUR an hour at the top; dollar-quoted sources put the same class at 12,000 to 17,000 USD an hour. Those are published market rates collected from broker price pages in August 2026, not our rates, and they are shown only so that you have something to measure a quotation against.

We have not found a published price for this exact city pair that we would be willing to reprint, so this page carries none. A number invented to fill a table is worse than no number at all. Tell us your dates and passenger count and you will have a real one, in writing, from our operations desk on +357 95 119759, 24/7.

When to fly, and when to book early

Our route data puts the busy window from November to March, with the flow reversing towards Europe between June and August. On the Milan end there is a second rhythm underneath that one - the city empties in August and fills again in September - and the two do not always point the same way.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
November to MarchThe Gulf season, and the direction everybody wants: Europe to Dubai. Long-range aircraft based in northern Italy are committed early.Four to six weeks for the outbound. If your return is inside the same window, ask about keeping the aircraft rather than booking two sectors.
June to AugustThe flow reverses towards Europe. Milan itself is quiet in August, so the departures are easier to place even though the eastbound direction is the unpopular one.The best window to ask about an eastbound empty leg out of Linate.
September, October, April, MayThe shoulder, and in Milan the busiest business months of the year on the ground. Aircraft are redistributing between the European and Gulf seasons. Two to three weeks is normally enough. Watch the Linate slot rather than the aircraft when you pick a departure time.

Seasonality for this pairing is taken from our own route research file for diamond.aero. Movement counts are EBAA 2023 as published by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024.

Questions we get about this route

How long is the flight from Dubai to Milan by private jet?
About 6 hours 18 minutes over a great-circle distance of 4,662 km, from Linate. That is an estimate from a model fitted to the flight times we publish ourselves rather than a measured block time, and it will move with routing and wind.
Why Linate and not Malpensa?
Because that is where the business aviation is. Linate recorded 25,757 movements in 2023, seventh in Europe, and it sits far closer to central Milan than Malpensa does - on a trip where you are already going to spend six hours in the air, an hour of motorway at the start is the part worth removing. All the distances and times on this page are calculated from Linate. If Malpensa suits your morning better, say so and we will quote it as its own sector.
How much does a private jet from Dubai to Milan cost?
We have found no published price for this city pair that we would reprint, so the figure on this page is a calculated floor rather than a quotation. For scale, published market rates for long-range jets in Europe run from about 8,500 EUR an hour to 20,100 EUR an hour. On a six-hour sector that band is wide enough to be worth narrowing with a real enquiry.
Does the Linate slot affect my departure time?
It can, and on this route it is the constraint people are least expecting. Linate is a slot-controlled city airport with a night curfew, so a late departure that would be trivial from a dedicated business-aviation field is a question here. Tell us the time you want at the enquiry stage rather than after the aircraft is chosen, because the answer sometimes changes which aircraft makes sense.
Is Dubai to Milan cheaper than London to Dubai?
It is shorter - 4,662 km against 5,500 km, about an hour less in the air - and on a route where hourly cost dominates the bill, an hour is real money. But distance is only one input: where the aircraft is starting from, which direction the seasonal flow is running and whether you are keeping the aeroplane all matter as much. Ask us for both if you have a choice of departure city.
Can I get an empty leg between Dubai and Milan?
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody in the cabin - an aircraft that has dropped a party and has to be somewhere else. The discount brokers publish on them is 50 to 75 percent. The eastbound ones tend to appear in high summer, when the seasonal flow runs towards Europe and aircraft have to get back. Linate is busy enough that repositioning through it is common. Current empty legs.
How late can I book Dubai to Milan?
The aircraft is usually the easy part; the permits and the Linate slot are what set the floor. Overflight and landing permissions on a Gulf routing take longer to arrange than anything inside Europe. Call the desk with your dates and we will tell you what is actually achievable rather than what sounds impressive. +357 95 119759, 24 hours.
Can I book a last-minute private jet from Dubai to Milan?
Often yes, and this is the most common way this route is booked. A last-minute charter means the aircraft, the crew and the airport slots have to line up at short notice: when they do, we have put people in the air within a few hours of the first call. What decides it is where a suitable aircraft happens to be and whether the windows at both ends are open, not our willingness. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759 — it answers around the clock — and we will tell you straight away whether your timing is achievable rather than promise and check later. Last-minute empty legs on this corridor are worth asking about at the same time.
