Barcelona to Dubai by private jet takes about 6 h 57 over 5,176 km, Barcelona El Prat to Dubai International, normally on a long-range jet. Indicative price from €55 000 for the whole aircraft, one way. We quote against your dates within 30 minutes and the operations desk answers around the clock on +357 95 119759.
Seven hours from the Catalan coast to the Gulf, flown in one leg by an aeroplane built to stay up that long. Every other route we publish out of Barcelona lasts about an hour; this one takes the better part of a working day, and nearly all of the planning on it concerns what happens after the wheels stop.
REQUEST A QUOTEEl Prat logged 12,068 business-aviation movements during 2023, enough for a place in the EBAA top fifty (EBAA 2023). Those tables stop at the edge of Europe, so no equivalent number exists for the Gulf end and none is invented here. Everything else follows from the length of the sector. Of the Gulf routes on this website only the London pairing runs further, and 5,176 km rules out every cabin below the long-range class — which is why three aeroplanes appear further down instead of a dozen. Heading east you would expect the predominantly westerly upper winds over the Mediterranean and the Middle East to sit at your back. That is a reasonable expectation, not a measurement.
It is worth knowing where this pairing falls among the Gulf departures we already publish, because the answer changes the class of aeroplane and therefore the invoice. Our shortest is Athens at 3,273 km, which a heavy jet manages and which is priced accordingly. Milan, Zurich, Nice and Geneva sit between roughly 4,600 and 4,950 km. Barcelona at 5,176 km and London at 5,500 km are the two long ones, and both belong firmly to the long-range fleet. If your party is able to gather at one of the shorter departure points instead, ask us to price that as well rather than assume Barcelona is the economical choice simply because it is the convenient one.
One field at either end, and the pair have almost nothing in common in the way they treat a private aeroplane. El Prat is an airline hub that accommodates business jets when it has the room; Dubai International runs private traffic through a facility of its own, well away from the scheduled concourses. The arrival is where this page spends most of its length, because two Dubai aerodromes accept business jets, and regulation rather than taste decides which of them you see.
| Airport | Codes | Which end | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barcelona El Prat | BCN / LEBL | Departure | The origin of the trip and of every distance and time quoted here — 12,068 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). Convenient for the city, the port and the Diagonal, and slot-coordinated. What runs short is general-aviation parking rather than runway: through high summer and across congress weeks, a stand for an aeroplane to occupy while it waits to collect you is genuinely hard to come by, which is why the first thing we ask for is your dates. |
| Dubai International | DXB / OMDB | Arrival | The end of the sector, and the aerodrome against which every figure on this page is computed; it is what we quote into unless there is a reason to do otherwise. Private traffic goes through its own facility instead of the scheduled concourses, and customs and immigration run at all hours, which makes a four-in-the-morning arrival purely a matter of scheduling. Should some other aerodrome in the emirates sit closer to your final address, tell us: we would rather quote that as a sector in its own right than pretend these numbers apply to it. |
Girona Costa Brava (GRO / LEGE) is the practical departure alternative for a party assembling on the Costa Brava or in the Emporda instead of in the city, and our usual fallback when El Prat has nothing free across a peak weekend. Sabadell (LELL) is worth being aware of rather than planning around: a light-aircraft field north of Barcelona, not somewhere an aeroplane of this size leaves from. Neither alters what a sector of this length requires.

Business jets are welcome at both. We put Dubai International into the quotation unless something argues against it. Al Maktoum International sits some twenty nautical miles to the south-west of Dubai International, works at every hour of the day, keeps its own customs and immigration desks, and offers a 4,500 m runway far longer than any of the three types below has the slightest use for. Which of the two you actually see is settled by the two rules set out side by side here — your preference is not among them, and neither is ours.
| What decides it | Dubai International (DXB / OMDB) | Al Maktoum (DWC / OMDW) |
|---|---|---|
| Slot coordination | Level 3. Demand on the schedule outruns what the airport can absorb, so every movement carries an allocated slot. | Level 2. Slots here are negotiated rather than rationed, which makes an awkward hour easier to place. |
| Standing beyond 24 hours | Not allowed to remain: the airport's own conditions of use require the aeroplane to be relocated. | Where it is relocated to. If the aircraft stays with you for the week, this is where it sleeps. |
| Which one the figures assume | Every distance, time and price on this page is calculated to it. | Ninety seconds or less different at cruise, which is smaller than the uncertainty in any time printed here. |
| The drive at the end | Quicker for Downtown and for the financial district. | Quicker for Dubai Marina and for the Palm. |
The aeroplane, in other words, usually does the choosing. Send us the address you are heading for and we will quote the aerodrome that shortens your journey rather than the one that reads more neatly on a page.

Range writes this shortlist and nothing else gets a vote. 5,176 km is out of reach for every midsize cabin, and a refuelling stop converts a seven-hour flight into a ten-hour day with an invoice from an aerodrome chosen by the fuel gauge rather than by you. Each of the three below crosses in a single leg, in the direction where the prevailing wind is more often an ally than an obstacle.
Between 13 and 19 seats according to our fleet page. Where a large party travels together, or where one aeroplane has to gather everybody up again at the end of the week, this is what we reach for first. The distance sits comfortably inside its book range, which in practice means nobody has to choose between the last two passengers and the last two suitcases.
See the Gulfstream G550 ›Between 13 and 14 seats on our fleet page. Its reputation rests on a low cabin noise level, and it is the usual request when the passengers mean to work across the crossing instead of sleeping through it. Connectivity equipment is fitted aircraft by aircraft rather than model by model, so ask us about the tail number we are offering.
See the Global 5000 ›Between 13 and 16 seats. It carries a third engine, a detail that matters to some passengers over open water and desert and not at all to others. Its short-field performance is the stronger argument: irrelevant at El Prat and at Dubai, decisive if the itinerary carries on to a smaller aerodrome afterwards.
See the Falcon 7X ›Each of the three types has a page of its own on this website, and the passenger figures quoted here come from those pages rather than from a manufacturer's brochure.
From €55 000 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.
No published price for this pairing has reached us from a source we would put our name to, so read the figure above as a floor and not as a quotation. It stands where it does because it comes out of the same arithmetic we apply across our Gulf sectors, carried out to a longer one. What actually sets your number is set out below.
Seven hours in the air rearranges the whole sum. On the hour-long Spanish and Riviera legs elsewhere on this website, ground charges and positioning dominate and the flying is almost incidental; here it is the other way round, and the aeroplane's hourly cost, the crew duty day and the two ferry legs are practically the entire conversation. Two facts about your particular trip therefore weigh more than anything printed here. The first is where the aircraft has to come from. One already based in Spain or on the French Riviera prices very differently from one ferried in for you, and during the weeks when El Prat is at its fullest — high summer, and the largest congress dates — an aeroplane that waits on the ground is also paying for a stand in short supply. The second is what you want it to do once it has landed in Dubai. Retaining aircraft and crew across a short stay frequently beats two independent one-way bookings, because it removes a ferry leg at each end rather than at one; the twenty-four hour rule above means that the waiting is done at Al Maktoum. Send the whole itinerary and we will price both arrangements against each other.
For orientation on where that floor comes from: the same method, applied to the Gulf routes already on this website, produces €52 500 for Geneva over 4,920 km and €58 900 for London over 5,500 km. Barcelona at 5,176 km lands between the two, which is the whole justification for the number at the head of this section. It is arithmetic about distance and aircraft class rather than a survey of what anyone has actually paid, and that is precisely why we call it a floor and not a price.
Published market rates for long-range jets in Europe run from about 8,500 EUR an hour at the bottom of the published range to 20,100 EUR an hour at the top; dollar-quoted sources put the same class at 12,000 to 17,000 USD an hour. Those are published market rates collected from broker price pages in August 2026, not our rates, and they are shown only so that you have something to measure a quotation against.
The pairing is new on this website and we publish no seasonal index for it, so rather than manufacture one, here are the two calendars that collide on it. The Gulf season occupies November to March and draws traffic eastwards. Barcelona's own year peaks across the Mediterranean summer, June to September, with a congress calendar bolted on top and August effectively shut for Spanish business.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| November to March | The Gulf winter, and the heaviest months in this direction. Long-range aeroplanes are wanted eastbound by everyone at once, while Barcelona sits in the quiet half of its own year, so fewer of them are standing in Spain to begin with. | Four to six weeks ahead. Expect the price to settle before the tail number does. |
| Late February and early March | Mobile World Congress fills Barcelona and everything airborne in Spain seems pointed at El Prat. Handling windows, stands and ground cars all tighten within the same fortnight. It is the one stretch of the year when the departure end is the harder of the two. | Reserve as early as you can, and expect us to propose an aeroplane that collects you and departs rather than one that waits on a stand. |
| June to September | Barcelona at its own peak, and the months when the Gulf flow reverses and heads for Europe instead of away from it, leaving the spare capacity in the system pointed against an eastbound departure. El Prat's general-aviation parking is squeezed over the same weeks. | Two to three weeks is normally enough. Tell us whether the aeroplane is to wait, since a jet parked at El Prat in August is harder to arrange than a departing one, and have the way home priced separately. |
| April, May and October | The quiet stretch at both ends; this is the season in which long-range aeroplanes migrate between the European market and the Gulf one. | The best weeks for an eastbound empty leg, and the easiest time of year to obtain a long-range cabin on short notice. |
Movement counts are EBAA 2023 as published by Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024. The pattern above is assembled from the calendars of the two ends — the Gulf winter season and the Spanish business and congress year — and not from a published seasonal index for this city pair.
This sector is rarely bought by itself. With the outbound settled, what is left is the return: whether you fly it on the same aeroplane, and where that aeroplane spends the days in between.
The same distance and the same class of cabin, flown into the prevailing wind instead of with it. Begin there if Catalonia is where the trip ends rather than where it turns.
Dubai to Barcelona ›Across a short stay, retaining the aeroplane and its crew commonly beats two separate one-way bookings. We will quote it both ways and let you compare rather than decide on your behalf.
Ask for both prices ›Long-range aeroplanes shuttle between the Gulf market and the European one all year round. If your dates are not fixed to the day, it is worth asking what is already moving.
Current empty legs ›Tell us your dates and how many of you there are. Your dedicated flight advisor will come back with aircraft options and a firm price.
