Paris to Monaco is 696 km and about 1 h 18 in the air — but it is not one aircraft. The Principality has no runway: its only aviation facility is the heliport at Fontvieille, so a private jet from Le Bourget lands at Nice and a helicopter covers the last few minutes along the coast. Indicative price from €3 700 for the whole aircraft, one way, for the jet sector. Tell us the hour you need to be in Monaco and we will build the day backwards from it, on +357 95 119759 at any hour.
The helicopter crossing from Nice takes seven to ten minutes. By road the same journey along the coast is about an hour, and longer in traffic. The helicopter is always flown by a partner operator rather than our own aircraft, and it can be quoted inside the price of the trip or as a separate line — whichever suits you. Some clients ask for the road transfer from the outset, and that is equally standard.
Eighty minutes from the capital to the Côte d’Azur, then a short hop along the coast into Fontvieille. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, with the helicopter leg arranged as part of the trip.
REQUEST A QUOTEAlmost everything written about flying privately to Monaco skips the one fact that shapes the trip: you cannot land a jet there. The Principality is small and steep, it has no runway and it never has had one, and the heliport at Fontvieille is the whole of its aviation infrastructure. What that means in practice is a two-part journey with a well-worn shape — a jet into Nice, which is one of the two busiest business-aviation airports in Europe and sits a short distance west along the coast, and a helicopter from there into Fontvieille. The transfer is routine, frequent and quick. It is also the part of the day worth booking first, because in the busy weeks the helicopters fill before the jets do.
There is no real choice at the Paris end and no choice at all at the Monaco end — the interesting decision is the middle one, which is where the jet puts you down on the Côte d’Azur and how you cover the last stretch.
| Airport | Codes | Great-circle from Le Bourget | Role on this route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paris Le Bourget | LBG / LFPB | departure | Where this traffic starts: eight kilometres from the périphérique, wholly given over to business aviation, and with 55,751 movements in 2023 the busiest such airport in Europe. Night movements are restricted, which is worth knowing if you are trying to leave Paris late after a working day. |
| Nice Côte d’Azur | NCE / LFMN | 694 km | The jet arrival, and effectively the airport of Monaco. 37,425 business-aviation movements in 2023, the deepest handling on the coast, any cabin at any hour, and a dedicated helicopter operation running along the shoreline to Fontvieille. Paris to Nice is a route we publish in its own right. |
| Monaco Heliport | MCM / LNMC | 696 km | Fontvieille, on the reclaimed land at the western edge of the Principality. Helicopters only — there is no runway in Monaco and no aircraft other than a helicopter arrives there. From the pad you are a few minutes by road from anywhere in the Principality. |
| Cannes Mandelieu | CEQ / LFMD | 695 km | The Riviera’s dedicated business-aviation field, west of Nice. It is size-limited and restricted at night, and it is further from Monaco than Nice is, so it earns its place when the trip is really about Cannes or when Nice is congested. |
| Genoa | GOA / LIMJ | about 200 km from Monaco | A fallback rather than a first choice: useful when Nice is at its busiest and slots are unavailable. The road transfer from here is long, so it is used when the alternative is not flying that day. |

Under 700 km with a light cabin asks nothing of an aeroplane, so range is irrelevant here and speed nearly so. What decides the type is the party: how many of you there are, how much you are carrying, and whether the same aircraft is staying on the coast for a few days or going straight back.
Six to eight passengers, 3,650 km of range, a 2.27 m³ hold and a flight attendant. The commonest type on short French sectors and usually the easiest to place at short notice out of Le Bourget.
See the Embraer Phenom 300 ›Six to seven passengers and 2,987 km of range. The economical choice for a small party on a day trip, which on this pairing is a very common shape of journey.
See the Cessna Citation CJ2 ›Six to seven passengers and a 2.07 m³ hold — more luggage volume than the CJ2 for the same seat count, which matters when the trip is a week rather than a day.
See the Cessna Citation Bravo ›All three have their own pages in our fleet, and a midsize cabin such as the Citation XLS+ flies the sector just as comfortably for a larger party. The coastal leg is a different aircraft altogether: see helicopter charter for the types and our published rates.

We have found no published whole-aircraft route price for Paris to Monaco from a source we would reprint, so the figure above is calculated: the bottom of the published European light-jet hourly rate applied to the flight time on this page, rounded down. It is a floor derived from market rates rather than a quotation.
It also covers the jet sector only, and on this route that distinction is not a technicality. The helicopter into Fontvieille is a second aircraft with a second bill — our own published helicopter rates start at 750 EUR an hour on a Eurocopter AS350, quoted before positioning, waiting and landing fees, which on short coastal work often matter more than the flight hour itself. A Monaco day is the sum of two aircraft and we would rather say so here.
The third variable is the calendar, and in Monaco it is unusually sharp. The Principality’s major event weeks in late spring and in September concentrate enormous demand into a handful of days, and in those weeks both the aircraft and the helicopter slots are scarce at once. Outside them this is an ordinary, well-supplied French business sector where short notice is entirely realistic.

Monaco runs on a business and events calendar rather than a beach one, which makes this route the opposite of the Saint-Tropez pairing a few kilometres along the same coast. The peaks are spring and autumn, the trough is August, and a handful of event weeks distort everything around them.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The spring event weeks | Late spring puts the Principality’s largest events into a very small number of days, and the whole coast feels it. Jets, helicopter slots, handling and hotel rooms all become scarce simultaneously, and it is the helicopter leg that usually runs out first. | Two to three months, and book the coastal hop at the same time as the jet rather than afterwards. This is the one period of the year where late planning genuinely costs you the trip. |
| March to June, September to November | The general business pattern in both directions: steady, unspectacular, driven by meetings and by the Principality’s finance and maritime calendars rather than by holidays. | One to two weeks is usually enough. Give us the hour you need to be in Monaco and we will work backwards through the helicopter and the jet. |
| The September show week | The autumn maritime event fills the port and the coast for the best part of a week and produces the second annual spike, with the same combination of pressures as the spring one. | Six to eight weeks, and expect arrival times to be shaped by helicopter availability rather than by the jet. |
| August and late December | The quiet windows. European business flying drops sharply in July and August — EUROCONTROL’s analysis identifies a pronounced summer trough — and the Principality’s working calendar stops for a fortnight at Christmas. | Short notice is realistic and prices are at their softest. August is the month to fly this route if the date is yours to choose. |

The Principality is small enough that most trips there are part of a wider Mediterranean week, and the sectors out of Nice are short enough to be decided late.
Paris to Cannes is 695 km and about 1 h 17 — the same flight, a different end of the same coast.
Paris to Cannes ›Paris to Saint-Tropez is 712 km into La Môle, when the aircraft and the hour allow it.
Paris to Saint-Tropez ›Nice to Mykonos is 1,676 km and about 2 h 32, the usual next leg when the week continues into the Aegean.
