Private Jet Charter Istanbul to Paris

Istanbul to Paris is 2,219 km and about 3 h 13 non-stop into Le Bourget, comfortably within a super-midsize cabin with everybody and everything aboard. The complications are administrative rather than aeronautical: Istanbul is a slot-heavy, two-continent city with three very different fields, and France is a Schengen arrival from a third country. Indicative price from €27 900 for the whole aircraft, one way. Give us the dates early and the operations desk will handle the rest, at any hour, on +357 95 119759.

North-west across the Balkans in a little over three hours, from the Bosphorus to the busiest business-aviation airport in Europe. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs.

The route at a glance

The flying is the easy part. Three and a quarter hours is well inside a super-midsize cabin with a full load, and no fuel stop is in question. What takes the planning happens on the ground. Istanbul straddles two continents and spreads its business aviation across three airports that are nothing like each other: one of the largest scheduled hubs in the world on the European side, the city’s former main airport now given over largely to general and business aviation, and a second scheduled airport across the strait. Choosing between them is about where in a very large city you actually are. Then there is France, where an arrival from Turkey is an external Schengen entry.

Distances are great-circle figures between airport coordinates in the OurAirports open dataset, so the track flown is longer. The time is a model estimate fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. Permit and slot requirements at the Turkish end are described in general terms because they depend on the operator, the aircraft and the date; we confirm the current position with your quotation.

Which airports we use

Istanbul is the decision. The three fields are separated by a very large city and by a strait, so the wrong choice does not cost you minutes in the air — it costs an hour or more in traffic at the wrong end of the day.

Istanbul AirportIST / LTFM2,219 kmThe default and the field every figure on this page is measured from. On the European side towards the Black Sea, one of the largest airports in the world by scheduled traffic, and business aviation operates there within the same slot discipline as everyone else. Handling and fuel support are the deepest available, and for the northern and western European side it is simply the nearest.
Istanbul AtatürkISL / LTBAnot publishedThe city’s former main airport, closer to the historic centre and now used largely by general and business aviation. For anyone staying near the old city or along the European shore of the Bosphorus it removes a long drive out to the new airport. Availability and permissions are worth confirming early rather than assuming.
Sabiha GökçenSAW / LTFJnot publishedOn the Asian side, and the right answer for anyone starting there. Crossing the Bosphorus by road at the wrong hour costs more time than the first hour of the flight. It is a busy scheduled airport, so the slot conversation applies here too.
Paris Le BourgetLBG / LFPBarrivalWhere almost all of this traffic lands: eight kilometres from the périphérique, wholly business aviation, and with 55,751 movements in 2023 the busiest such airport in Europe. Night movements are restricted — on a three-hour north-westbound sector, the constraint most likely to reshape your departure out of Istanbul. Orly is the alternative.

Aircraft for Istanbul to Paris

2,219 km with a full cabin and real luggage is a super-midsize sector. A midsize cabin will do it, but the trade becomes passengers or bags against fuel, and over three and a quarter hours the stand-up cabin and the galley stop being luxuries.

Bombardier Challenger 350

Eight to nine passengers, 5,926 km of range, a 3.00 m³ hold and the widest cabin of the three at 2.19 m. The type we put forward first on this corridor: it crosses with everything aboard and a long reserve.

See the Bombardier Challenger 350 ›

Cessna Citation Sovereign

Eight to eleven passengers and 5,926 km of range — the highest seat count of the three, in a narrower cabin. The answer when the party is large and the priority is getting everyone on one aeroplane.

See the Cessna Citation Sovereign ›

Gulfstream G280

Ten passengers, 6,667 km of range, a 3.40 m³ hold and the fastest of the three at 893 km/h. The choice when Paris is the middle of a longer itinerary rather than the end of it.

All three have their own pages in our fleet. A midsize cabin such as the Citation Latitude flies the sector for a smaller party; a heavy cabin is available when the trip continues west or south afterwards. See also luggage limits.

What it costs

From €27 900 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

We have found no published whole-aircraft route price for Istanbul to Paris from a source we would reprint, so the figure above is calculated. There is a second honesty point to make about it: unlike the light and midsize classes, the published European rates we work from do not include a “from” figure for super-midsize aircraft. The calculation therefore uses the bottom of the published super-midsize range instead, applied to the flight time on this page and rounded down.

That makes this floor a conservative reading of a broad band rather than a keen entry price, and it is worth knowing which you are looking at. What moves a real quotation is where a suitable super-midsize cabin already is: there are fewer in the eastern Mediterranean than around Paris, Geneva and London, so a quotation out of Istanbul is often for an aircraft that has to get there first.

The third component is administrative. A departure from Turkey by a foreign operator involves permissions and slots applied for rather than assumed, and the work behind them is real even though routine. It is not a surcharge; it is why a trip arranged in two days does not price like one arranged in two weeks. Tell us the dates as soon as they are firm.

The hourly ranges are third-party published estimates, reprinted so that you can test any quotation against them — ours included. None is our offer and none binds anybody. The floor at the top of this page is a calculation with its inputs stated, and we have said plainly that it rests on the bottom of a broad range rather than on a published entry rate, because a number whose basis is hidden is worse than a number with a caveat. When to fly, and when to book early

This is a business corridor and it runs on a business calendar in both directions. The peaks are the two working seasons, the trough is high summer, and the weekly rhythm — out on Monday, back on Thursday — matters as much as the monthly one.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
March to JuneThe stronger of the two seasons: comfortable weather at both ends, full calendars in both cities, and steady two-way demand. Two to three weeks, and start the Turkish permissions as soon as the dates are firm rather than when the aircraft is chosen.
September to NovemberThe second season, and usually the busiest weeks of the year here. Paris carries a heavy autumn calendar and Le Bourget is correspondingly full, which shows up as fewer convenient arrival hours rather than as no availability.Three weeks, and give us the hour you need to be on the ground in Paris rather than the hour you would like to leave Istanbul.
July and AugustQuiet, and genuinely so. European business flying falls sharply in midsummer — EUROCONTROL’s analysis of the sector identifies a pronounced trough — and the Turkish business calendar thins out at the same time. The easiest weeks of the year for short notice. If your dates can move, move them here.
The second half of DecemberA short, hard stop in Paris rather than in Istanbul, and enough to empty the corridor for about a fortnight before it resumes abruptly in January.Short notice is realistic, with the caveat that permit and handling offices keep holiday hours at the French end.

Onward from Paris

Le Bourget works as a hub as well as a destination, and a good share of the traffic arriving from Istanbul carries on within a day or two.

Across to London

Paris to London is under an hour and one of the densest business-aviation corridors in Europe, which is why empty legs appear on it so regularly.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Istanbul to Paris by private jet?
About 3 hours 13 minutes non-stop over 2,219 km into Le Bourget, and we publish the same figure for the flight back. That is an estimate from our published-times model rather than a measured block time. Flown north-west you are more often into the prevailing wind than with it, so if one leg of a return trip runs long it is more likely to be this one. Allow roughly fifteen minutes on the ground at each end.
Which Istanbul airport should we leave from?
Whichever is on your side of the city. Istanbul Airport on the European side is the default and has the deepest handling. Atatürk, closer to the historic centre, is now largely a general and business aviation field. Sabiha Gökçen is the Asian-side answer, and if your morning starts there, crossing the Bosphorus at the wrong hour can take longer than the first hour of the flight. Tell us the district, not the airport.
What permissions are involved at the Turkish end?
A departure from Turkey by a foreign-registered operator needs permissions and an airport slot, and these are applied for rather than assumed. The work is routine and we do it as a matter of course, but it takes working days rather than hours, and the exact requirements depend on the operator, the aircraft and the date. The practical advice is the same every time: give us the dates as soon as they are firm, before the aircraft and the passenger list are settled.
What happens on arrival in France?
A full third-country entry. Turkey is outside both the European Union and the Schengen area, so this is an external Schengen arrival with immigration and customs, and visa requirements apply to passengers according to their nationality. At a business-aviation terminal the process is carried out beside the aircraft in minutes rather than in a hall — but it is not automatic. Send us the complete passenger list with passport details well in advance.
Can we land at Le Bourget at any hour?
No. Night movements at Le Bourget are restricted, and on a three-and-a-quarter-hour north-westbound sector that is the constraint most likely to reshape your plans: a late departure from Istanbul can arrive after the window has closed. Give us the hour you need to be on the ground in Paris and we will work backwards to a departure time. Orly is the alternative when the hour genuinely does not exist at Le Bourget.
Do we need a super-midsize aircraft?
For a full cabin with full luggage and no fuel stop, it is the sensible class. A midsize cabin can fly 2,219 km, but with eight or nine aboard the trade becomes passengers or bags against fuel, and three and a quarter hours is long enough that the stand-up cabin and the galley earn their keep. For four people with hand luggage, a midsize aircraft is a perfectly honest answer and we will say so.
How much does a private jet from Istanbul to Paris cost?
From about 27,900 EUR one way for the whole aircraft as our own indicative floor. No published price exists for this exact pairing from a source we would reprint, and for super-midsize aircraft the published European rates carry no separate entry figure either — so the number is the bottom of the published super-midsize range, about 8,700 EUR an hour against a top of roughly 15,000 EUR, applied to the 3 h 13 flight time and rounded down. It is a conservative reading of a broad band rather than a keen price.
Should we book the return at the same time?
On a sector of this length, yes, and it moves the number more than the aircraft type does. Whether the aircraft waits for you in Paris or flies back east and returns changes the economics of the whole trip. For two or three nights, keeping it with you is frequently cheaper. Tell us the shape of the trip before you ask which aeroplane.
Are there empty legs, and can we book at short notice?
Empty legs occur on this corridor but less often than on the short European pairings, because an aircraft that has flown three hours rarely turns straight round empty. On short notice the honest constraint is the Turkish permission process, which sets a floor on how fast the trip can be arranged. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759 and we will tell you what is achievable on your dates. Current empty legs and jet sharing.
