Private Jet Charter Ibiza to Malaga

Ibiza to Malaga is 571 km and about 1 h 08 in the air, a light jet sector, both ends in Spain. Indicative price from €3 200 for the whole aircraft, one way. The only two things worth deciding in advance are the hour you leave the island and which Andalusian field puts you closest to your bed – on this coast that is a real question, not a formality. +357 95 119759, any hour.

An hour and a bit south-west, from one summer coast to another. Two things shape the day and neither is the aeroplane: the departure slot out of Ibiza in the peak weeks, and the fact that the Costa del Sol is long enough that the wrong airport costs you an hour of motorway. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, arranged 24/7.

The route at a glance

A summer-to-summer sector, which means both ends are busy at the same time and for the same reason. Ibiza has one runway and a compact business-aviation apron, and it recorded 14,383 business-aviation movements in 2023 on an island of 570 square kilometres; the handling is separate for private traffic, the runway slot and the parking are not. Malaga is a mainland airport with proper capacity, so the arrival is straightforward – the decision there is geographic rather than operational.

Distance
571 km
Great-circle between airport coordinates, Ibiza to Malaga Costa del Sol; the track actually flown is longer than the straight line
Flight time
approx. 1 h 08
A model estimate rather than a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction. The departure slot moves your day further than the wind does
Departure
IBZ
Ibiza LEIB, one runway, separate business-aviation handling, shared slot and shared ramp; about seven kilometres from Ibiza Town
Arrival
AGP
Malaga Costa del Sol LEMG, about eight kilometres from Malaga and roughly fifty minutes by road from Marbella and Puerto Banús – longer on a summer Friday
Typical aircraft
Light jet
Phenom 300, Citation CJ2 or Citation Bravo – over 571 km the cabin is a comfort decision and never a range one
Busiest months
Jun – Sep
Both coasts fill at once, which is why the aircraft itself becomes the scarce thing in August rather than merely the slot
The distance is a great-circle figure between airport coordinates, so the track actually flown is longer than it. The time is a model estimate and not a measured block time: the model is fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, it makes no distinction between the outbound and the return, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

One departure, and three honest arrivals. The Costa del Sol runs a long way west of Malaga, and for the far end of it there are two fields that are genuinely closer – one of them in another territory. We propose them when the drive favours them, not to look thorough.

AirportCodesDistanceSuits you if
IbizaIBZ / LEIB571 kmWhere the crossing starts, and the field every figure on this page is measured from. One runway takes both the scheduled airlines and the private traffic; the handling is separate, the slot and the apron are not, and between mid-June and mid-September they decide your departure hour.
Malaga Costa del SolAGP / LEMGarrivalThe default. About eight kilometres from Malaga itself and roughly fifty minutes by road from Marbella and Puerto Banús – longer on a summer Friday, and that is worth building into the plan rather than discovering. Business aviation is handled away from the scheduled terminals.
GibraltarGIB / LXGBarrival alternativeAt the far western end of the coast and closer to Sotogrande than Malaga is. It is a separate territory with its own border formalities, which is exactly why it is a choice rather than a default – but for that end of the coast the formalities cost less time than the drive does.
JerezXRY / LEJRarrival alternativeInland from Cádiz, and a sensible arrival only for parties heading into western Andalusia. We propose it when the drive genuinely favours it rather than as an automatic option.

Aircraft for Ibiza to Malaga

Five hundred and seventy kilometres is within easy reach of everything we operate. The real constraint in August is not range or speed but whether an aircraft can be found at the island end at all – which is why we quote what genuinely exists rather than what would be ideal.

Light jet

The default and the most available category in the peak weeks. Six passengers with normal luggage, an hour and a bit in the air, and the easiest aircraft to place on a crowded apron.

See the fleet ›

Midsize jet

For a larger party or bulky luggage, and the better answer if the trip continues from Malaga rather than ending there. Ask early about island parking in the peak.

Turboprop

Sensible economy at this distance if the schedule is relaxed, and it also opens the smaller Andalusian fields comfortably – occasionally worth more than the cruise speed.

What it costs

Indicative price from €3 200 for the whole aircraft, one way. A floor for a light jet on an ordinary day, and on a route where both ends share the same season, ordinary days are concentrated outside July and August.

What makes this sector different from most island hops is that the destination is busy too. In the peak weeks you are not competing for an aircraft with quiet mainland Spain – you are competing with everybody else moving along the same coasts. That shows up as positioning cost: the aeroplane has to come from somewhere, and in August somewhere is rarely next door.

The reliable ways down are the same as everywhere on this coast: mid-week rather than weekend, an hour outside the exodus, and empty legs. On this particular pairing empty legs are unusually common, because aircraft shuttle between the Balearics and Andalusia all summer and frequently return without anybody aboard.

When to fly, and when to book early

June to September at both ends, and the pressure sits in the same hours on both coasts: Friday and Sunday evenings, Monday mornings. Outside the season this is an ordinary hop and short notice is comfortable.

Book early for August and book both directions together. The island slot is the binding constraint outbound; on the return into Ibiza it is tighter still. Booking the pair also removes the risk of the aircraft being repositioned away between your two legs.

Tell us where on the coast you are actually going before we quote. If it is Sotogrande or the far west, the honest answer may be Gibraltar rather than Malaga, and that changes the quotation as well as the drive.

Onward from Malaga

The Costa del Sol is rarely the end of a summer itinerary. Arranged with the outbound leg, the next sector uses the aircraft already assigned to you.

Malaga to Ibiza

The return crossing, and the half most parties book at the same time. Booking both usually costs less than two one-way flights and secures the island slot in advance.

Malaga to Nice

East along the northern Mediterranean, and a common second leg when the summer moves from one coast to another rather than ending.

Malaga to Madrid

North to the capital in about an hour, and the usual shape when the coast was the first half of the trip and business is the second.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Ibiza to Malaga, and how much ground time should we allow?
About 1 h 08 in the air over 571 km. Allow roughly fifteen minutes on the ground at each end at a business terminal, and more at Ibiza in the peak weeks because the apron is full. The flying figure is a model estimate fitted to the flight times we publish ourselves rather than a measured block time.
Malaga, Gibraltar or Jerez?
Malaga for Malaga itself, Marbella and Puerto Banús – about fifty minutes by road, longer on a summer Friday. Gibraltar if you are heading for Sotogrande or the far western end of the coast; it is a separate territory with its own border formalities, and for that end they cost less time than the drive. Jerez only for western Andalusia. Tell us the address and we will name the field.
Is there a border to cross?
Not if you land in Spain – Ibiza and Malaga are both Spanish and this is a domestic flight. If Gibraltar is the better arrival for your address, then yes: it is a separate territory with its own formalities, which at a business-aviation terminal is a desk beside the aircraft rather than a queue.
Why is August more expensive than the published floor?
Because both ends of this route are busy at once. You are not chartering out of a quiet mainland into a busy island; you are moving between two coasts that fill in the same weeks. The aircraft has to come from somewhere, and in August somewhere is rarely nearby. The slot and apron at Ibiza then add their own pressure.
Can we do it as a day trip?
Out of season, comfortably. In August the outbound is usually arrangeable and the return into Ibiza is the tight half, so we book both ends together rather than leaving the evening to chance. Give us the two hours you need and we will say whether they exist.
Are there empty legs on this pairing?
Unusually often, because aircraft shuttle between the Balearics and Andalusia all summer and a good many return without anybody aboard. The discount range brokers publish is 50 to 75 percent. The trade is that the date and roughly the hour are somebody else's. Current empty legs
What if Ibiza cannot take the departure at any workable hour?
On the worst August weekends that happens. The honest fallback is Palma de Mallorca, which is a different island and therefore costs a boat or a second short flight. We name it in advance rather than produce it as a surprise, and we propose it only when the alternative is not flying at all.
How late can we book?
Outside the season, the same day. Inside it, as early as you can – here the aircraft is as likely to be the constraint as the slot, because both coasts want it. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759, staffed twenty-four hours a day.
