Private Jet Charter Ibiza to Rome

Ibiza to Rome is 1,004 km and about 1 h 41 in the air, a light to midsize sector, both ends inside Schengen so there is no border to plan around. Indicative price from €4 800 for the whole aircraft, one way. The part worth settling first is the departure hour out of the island; Rome itself is the easy end of this trip. +357 95 119759, any hour.

An hour and three quarters east across the western Mediterranean, from an island that is at its busiest in exactly the weeks you want to leave it, to a city where business aviation has its own airport a short drive from the centre. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, arranged 24/7.

The route at a glance

A Mediterranean crossing between two very different kinds of airport. Ibiza has one runway shared through the summer with very heavy scheduled traffic, about seven kilometres from Ibiza Town: business aviation is handled separately, but the runway slot and the ramp parking are not. Rome Ciampino counted 17,129 business-aviation movements in 2023 and is, for a business jet, effectively the only sensible Rome field – and it happens to be the closer of the two to the city.

Distance
1,004 km
Great-circle between airport coordinates, Ibiza to Rome Ciampino; the track actually flown is longer than the straight line
Flight time
approx. 1 h 41
A model estimate rather than a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction. The departure slot at the island end moves the day further than the wind does
Departure
IBZ
Ibiza LEIB, one runway, separate business-aviation handling, shared slot and shared ramp; about seven kilometres from Ibiza Town
Arrival
CIA
Rome Ciampino LIRA, about fifteen kilometres south-east of the centre, and for business aviation effectively the only sensible Rome field
Typical aircraft
Light to midsize
A light jet does it comfortably with a small party; a midsize above six passengers or with the luggage a long stay generates
Busiest months
Jun – Sep
The island season drives this pairing: Rome is busy all year, Ibiza is busy for four months, and the four months are what you feel
The distance is a great-circle figure between airport coordinates, so the track actually flown is longer than it. The time is a model estimate and not a measured block time: the model is fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, it makes no distinction between the outbound and the return, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

One departure and, in practice, one arrival. The other two Rome fields are listed because knowing why we have not offered them is more useful than wondering whether we forgot.

Aircraft for Ibiza to Rome

A thousand kilometres is comfortable for a light jet and easy for anything larger, so the choice is about the party rather than the performance – with one island caveat about size on the ground in the peak weeks.

Light jet

Fine for up to six with normal luggage, and the easiest category to place on a crowded August apron at the island end. An hour and three quarters in a light cabin is unremarkable.

Midsize jet

What we quote above six passengers or when the luggage is substantial. Also the better answer if the trip continues from Rome rather than ending there.

Super-midsize

For a larger group, or when you want the cabin to be a place to work rather than simply to sit. Worth asking about island parking early if the date is in the peak.

What it costs

Indicative price from €4 800 for the whole aircraft, one way – a floor for a sensible aircraft on an ordinary day rather than a quotation for a Sunday in August.

Above it sit the usual lines: the cabin, where the aircraft came from and where it must be next, and handling at both ends. What is particular to this route is the island: a departure slot and a parking space in the peak weeks are genuinely scarce, and scarcity at one end of a sector prices the whole of it. Rome contributes little volatility by comparison – Ciampino is busy but it is a mainland airport with mainland capacity.

The honest ways down are mid-week departures, hours outside the weekend exodus, and empty legs. Ibiza generates a great many of the latter through the summer, because aircraft deliver parties in and a good proportion leave without anybody aboard.

When to fly, and when to book early

The season that matters here is the island's: June to September. Rome is busy all year but rarely in a way that blocks a business jet; Ibiza is busy for four months in a way that does.

Book early for August, and earliest for Friday and Sunday evenings when the island changes over. If your arrival in Rome is pinned to something – a dinner, a meeting, a connection at Fiumicino – give us that hour first and we will work backwards from it.

Outside the season this is a straightforward sector that can be arranged at short notice, and same-day departures are realistic in both directions.

Onward from Rome

Rome is a hinge between northern Europe and the Mediterranean, and the second leg is simpler arranged with the first.

Rome to Ibiza

The return crossing, and the half most parties book at the same time. Booking both together usually costs less than two separate one-way flights and secures the island slot in advance.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Ibiza to Rome, and how much ground time should we allow?
About 1 h 41 in the air over 1,004 km. Allow roughly fifteen minutes on the ground at each end at a business terminal, and more at Ibiza in the peak weeks because the apron is full. The flying figure is a model estimate fitted to the flight times we publish ourselves rather than a measured block time.
Why Ciampino rather than Fiumicino?
Because for business aviation Ciampino is effectively the only sensible Rome field, and it is the closer of the two to the centre – about fifteen kilometres south-east. Fiumicino becomes the answer when Ciampino cannot take the movement at your hour, or when somebody is connecting onto a scheduled long-haul.
Is there a border to cross?
No. Spain and Italy are both inside the Schengen area, so this is an internal flight with no passport desk at either end. Passenger details are still needed for the flight plan and handling, and identification should be carried, but there is no immigration step to schedule around.
What does €4 800 include, and when does it stop applying?
It is an indicative floor for the whole aircraft, one way, on an ordinary day. In the peak island weeks the real figure is driven by the departure slot and parking at Ibiza rather than by the flying. Send the dates and the passenger count and you get a real number in writing.
Is the Rome end ever the problem?
Rarely, and never in the way the island end is. Ciampino is busy but it is a mainland airport with mainland capacity, and a business jet arriving there is a routine movement. If the hour you want is genuinely unavailable, Fiumicino is a real alternative rather than a consolation.
Can we go on to Sardinia or the Amalfi coast from Rome?
Yes, and it is a common shape. Both are short sectors from Ciampino, and arranging them with the inbound leg means the aircraft and crew are already yours rather than being found again. Tell us the whole itinerary at the enquiry and it is quoted as one trip.
Are there empty legs on this crossing?
Regularly through the summer, because aircraft deliver parties into Ibiza constantly and a good proportion leave empty. The discount range brokers publish is 50 to 75 percent, and the trade is that the date and roughly the hour belong to somebody else. Current empty legs
How late can we book?
Outside the season, the same day. Inside it, as early as you can: the aircraft is usually findable and the island slot frequently is not. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759, staffed twenty-four hours a day, and you will be told what genuinely exists.
