Private Jet Charter Paris to Istanbul

Paris to Istanbul is 2,219 km and about 3 h 13 non-stop out of Le Bourget, comfortably within a super-midsize cabin with everybody and everything aboard. The complications are administrative rather than aeronautical: Istanbul is a slot-heavy, two-continent city with three very different fields, and Turkey is a third-country arrival from Schengen. Indicative price from €27 900 for the whole aircraft, one way. Give us the dates early and the desk will handle the rest, at any hour, on +357 95 119759.

Three hours and a quarter south-east, and the only decision that will genuinely change your day is which side of the Bosphorus you land on. Crossing that water by road at the wrong hour costs more time than the first hour of the flight. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, arranged 24/7.

The route at a glance

The flying is the straightforward half. Le Bourget is wholly business aviation, eight kilometres from the périphérique, and with 55,751 movements in 2023 the busiest such field in Europe, so the departure is quick. Istanbul is the half that needs thought: three airports across two continents, all of them busy, all of them working to slot discipline, and an arrival that is a full third-country entry rather than a walk to a car.

Distance
2,219 km
Great-circle between airport coordinates, Paris Le Bourget to Istanbul Airport; the track actually flown is longer than the straight line
Flight time
approx. 3 h 13
A model estimate rather than a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction. Routing and the arrival slot move it more than wind does
Departure
LBG
Paris Le Bourget LFPB, business aviation only, night movements restricted; Orly is the alternative when Le Bourget has no window at the hour you need
Arrival
IST
Istanbul Airport LTFM, on the European side towards the Black Sea; Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen are the alternatives, and which one suits you depends on which shore you are staying on
Typical aircraft
Super-midsize
A Challenger 350, Legacy 500 or Gulfstream G280 crosses non-stop with the cabin full; a midsize does it with a lighter load
Busiest months
Mar – Jun, Sep – Nov
A business calendar at both ends, with a summer leisure peak that fills the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts rather than the city
The distance is a great-circle figure between airport coordinates, so the track actually flown is longer than it. The time is a model estimate and not a measured block time: the model is fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, it makes no distinction between the outbound and the return, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

This is the section that decides the trip. Istanbul has three fields and they are not interchangeable: the water between them is the reason. Tell us the address you are going to rather than the city, and we will name the airport that gets you there soonest.

AirportCodesDistanceSuits you if
Paris Le BourgetLBG / LFPB2,219 kmWhere the leg starts, and the field every figure on this page is measured from. Wholly business aviation, eight kilometres from the périphérique, 55,751 movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). Night movements are restricted, which matters if your departure would be late in the evening.
Istanbul AirportIST / LTFMarrivalThe default and the field every figure here is measured to. On the European side towards the Black Sea, one of the largest airports in the world by scheduled traffic, and business aviation operates there within the same slot discipline as everyone else. The right answer for most European-side destinations and for any onward scheduled connection.
Istanbul AtatürkISL / LTBAarrival alternativeYou are staying near the old city or along the European shore of the Bosphorus. The city's former main airport, now used largely by general and business aviation, and it removes a long drive out to the new field. Availability is the question to ask us about in advance.
Sabiha GökçenSAW / LTFJarrival alternativeYour destination is on the Asian side. Crossing the Bosphorus by road at the wrong hour costs more time than the first hour of the flight, so this is not a second-best but the correct answer for that half of the city. It is a busy scheduled airport, so the slot conversation applies here too.

Aircraft for Paris to Istanbul

Two and a quarter thousand kilometres is a real sector, and the cabin is where the money and the comfort both sit. Everything below crosses it; what differs is how many of you do so without anybody counting the minutes.

Super-midsize

The default and what we quote unless told otherwise. A Challenger 350, Legacy 500 or Gulfstream G280 takes eight or nine with full luggage non-stop, with a cabin that works for three hours rather than merely holds you.

Midsize jet

Non-stop with a lighter load and a shorter passenger list, and a sensible saving when there are four or five of you. We will say plainly where the limit falls rather than quote it and adjust later.

Heavy jet

For a larger party, for a night departure where sleep matters, or when Istanbul is a staging point for somewhere considerably further east.

What it costs

Indicative price from €27 900 for the whole aircraft, one way. It is a floor, not a quotation: it describes a sensible aircraft on an ordinary day, and the variables above and below it are large.

The cabin moves it most. After that: where the aircraft was before it came to Le Bourget and where it must be afterwards; whether a crew can do this out and back inside a duty day, which at 3 h 13 each way is rarely the case without an overnight; and handling, parking and slots at a very busy Istanbul field. None of these are surprises, but all of them are real money, and a printed hourly rate multiplied by three hours accounts for none of them.

Where savings genuinely appear: a return booked as one trip rather than two one-ways; and empty legs, which occur on this corridor because aircraft reposition between western Europe and Turkey regularly. Both require your dates to have some give in them.

When to fly, and when to book early

The business calendar runs March to June and September to November at both ends, and it is the one that fills this corridor. The Turkish summer is busy too, but most of that traffic is aimed at the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts rather than at Istanbul itself.

Book early whenever your arrival hour is fixed. Slots at the Istanbul fields are the binding constraint far more often than aircraft availability is, and the popular morning and early-evening windows go first. Book early too when passengers hold a mix of nationalities, because entry requirements vary by nationality and that is the step that cannot be hurried at the last moment.

Short notice is workable, with one honest caveat: the paperwork has a floor. Tell us as early as you can and the administrative side stays invisible to you; tell us on the day and it becomes the thing everybody is waiting for.

Onward from Istanbul

Istanbul sits at a junction, and a good share of these trips continue rather than return. Arranged together with the outbound leg, the second sector uses the aircraft already assigned to you.

The Turkish coast

Bodrum, Dalaman and the Aegean fields are short hops from Istanbul. If the coast is the real destination, say so and we will quote it directly instead of adding a domestic leg to the end of a long day.

Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean

Our own desk is in Cyprus, and Larnaca is a short sector from Istanbul. A two-stop week across this corner of the map is a shape we quote regularly.

Empty legs

Aircraft reposition between Europe and Turkey often enough that empty legs appear on this corridor with some regularity. Flexible dates are the price of using one.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Paris to Istanbul, and does it go non-stop?
About 3 h 13 in the air over 2,219 km, non-stop on a super-midsize with the cabin full, or on a midsize with a lighter load. The flying figure is a model estimate fitted to the flight times we publish ourselves rather than a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction.
Which Istanbul airport should we land at?
Istanbul Airport for most European-side destinations and for any onward scheduled connection; it is the field every figure on this page is calculated to. Atatürk if you are near the old city or along the European shore, as it removes the long drive out. Sabiha Gökçen if your destination is on the Asian side – crossing the Bosphorus by road at the wrong hour costs more than the first hour of the flight.
What happens on arrival in Turkey?
A full third-country entry. Turkey is outside both the European Union and the Schengen area, so there is immigration and customs on landing, and entry requirements apply to passengers according to their nationality. At a business-aviation terminal the process happens beside the aircraft in minutes rather than in a hall – but it is not automatic. Send us the complete passenger list with passport details well in advance.
Are slots really the problem?
More often than aircraft availability, yes. All three Istanbul fields are busy, and business aviation works within the same slot discipline as scheduled traffic. That is why we ask for your dates and your preferred hour early: the aircraft can usually be found, and the window sometimes cannot.
What does €27 900 include, and what moves it?
It is an indicative floor for the whole aircraft, one way. The cabin moves it most; then positioning, the crew duty day – which at 3 h 13 each way rarely allows a same-day return without an overnight – and handling, parking and slots in Istanbul. Give us the dates and the passenger count and the quotation is a real figure in writing.
Can we do it out and back in a day?
Rarely, and we would rather say so now than discover it on the morning. Three and a quarter hours each way plus a working day in Istanbul exceeds a normal crew duty period in most shapes. The usual answers are an overnight or a second crew, and we will price both if it matters to you.
Are there empty legs between Paris and Istanbul?
They appear, because aircraft reposition between western Europe and Turkey regularly. The discount range brokers publish is 50 to 75 percent. The trade is that the date and roughly the hour belong to somebody else. Current empty legs
How late can we book?
Later than you might think for the aircraft, and not as late as you might like for the paperwork. Slots and the passenger formalities are the parts with a floor. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759, staffed twenty-four hours a day, and you will be told which of the two is the constraint on your dates.
