Istanbul to London is a 2,494 km sector of about 3 h 34 in the air, Istanbul Airport to London Luton, flown comfortably by a super-midsize jet with the cabin full. Indicative price from €31 000 for the whole aircraft, one way. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; the operations desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.
Three and a half hours north-west across the Balkans and central Europe, from a city with three airports to a city with three more. Which two you use is the only part of this route that takes any thought.
REQUEST A QUOTETwo and a half thousand kilometres is an easy sector for a super-midsize cabin and the flying asks nothing unusual of anybody. What gives this route its character is that both ends offer a genuine choice of airport, and in Istanbul the choice is geographical in a way it is nowhere else on this website: the city sits on two continents, the airports are distributed across both, and picking the wrong one can cost you more time on the road than the difference between a midsize jet and a fast one saves you in the air.
This is one of the few routes on this website where the departure end deserves as much thought as the arrival end. Istanbul has three airports, they are not interchangeable, and one of them is on a different continent from the other two. Read the first three rows before you decide anything, and tell us which side of the Bosphorus your morning starts on.
| Airport | Codes | Codes and side | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Istanbul Airport | IST / LTFM — European side | default | The principal airport of the city and the field every figure on this page is measured from. It is north-west of the centre on the European side, very large, and has business-aviation handling arranged separately from the scheduled terminals. It is the default because it has the deepest handling and the widest choice of aircraft on any given day, not because it is the closest to anything. |
| Istanbul Atatürk | ISL / LTBA — European side | business aviation | The city’s former principal airport, now given over to general and business aviation rather than scheduled passenger traffic, and closer in on the European side. For a party staying in the historic city or the western districts it can remove a long drive at the end where you are standing. Availability and handling there want arranging in advance rather than assuming on the day. |
| Sabiha Gökçen | SAW / LTFJ — Asian side | the other continent | On the Asian side of the city. For anyone whose day starts in Kadıköy, Ataşehir or further east it is not an alternative so much as the obvious answer, because the alternative involves crossing the Bosphorus in traffic. For anyone on the European side it is the wrong airport, and the bridges will prove it. |
| London Luton, Farnborough, Biggin Hill | LTN / EGGW, FAB / EGLF, BQH / EGKB | arrival | Three business-aviation fields within a few minutes of each other in the air and up to an hour apart on the road. Luton carries the widest choice of aircraft and handling; Farnborough takes no scheduled traffic and suits west London and the Thames Valley; Biggin Hill suits the City, Canary Wharf and Kent. Send us the postcode rather than the airport name. |
Airport coordinates and codes: OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026. Luton logged 26,661 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023 via Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024); Turkish airports are outside that dataset, which counts European Union and associated states.
At 2,494 km this sector sits comfortably inside super-midsize range, which means range never decides the aircraft here — the party does. What matters is how many of you there are, how much you are carrying and whether the three and a half hours are for working or for sleeping.
Eight to ten passengers, a flat floor and a hold that takes real luggage rather than briefcases. The commonest type on corridors of this length and usually the easiest to place at short notice.
See the Bombardier Challenger 350 ›Nine to twelve passengers and the most forgiving of the three about shorter runways, which matters less on this pairing than it does elsewhere but buys options if the trip grows a second leg.
See the Cessna Citation Sovereign ›Eight to ten passengers and the quickest of the three, with range well beyond what this sector needs. The surplus is worth having when London is the middle stop of a three-stop week rather than the end of it.
See the Gulfstream G280 ›All three have their own pages in our fleet. Larger cabins — Legacy 650, Challenger 605 — fly this route regularly too, and are worth asking about when the party is twelve rather than eight.

We have found no published whole-aircraft route price for Istanbul to London from a source we would be willing to reprint, so the figure above is calculated rather than quoted: the bottom of the published European super-midsize hourly range applied to the flight time on this page, then rounded down. It is a floor derived from market rates, not our tariff and not a quotation.
One caveat about that calculation is worth stating, because it is the kind of thing a price page usually hides. For the light, midsize and long-range classes our sources publish an explicit entry-level rate — a figure labelled "from". For super-midsize they do not, so the number above uses the bottom of a published range instead. That is a slightly less conservative basis than we use elsewhere on this site, and you should read the floor accordingly.
What actually moves the real number here is positioning and the return. Istanbul has a substantial resident business-aviation fleet, so an aircraft is more often already at the departure end on this route than on the Gulf pairings we publish — which helps. Against that, a one-way west leaves the aeroplane somewhere it has to be paid to leave. If the return date exists, send it in the first message: the pair frequently quotes better than two singles.

This is a business corridor and it runs on a working calendar, which makes it the opposite of the Mediterranean routes elsewhere on this site. The months everyone else is flying for pleasure are the months this pairing goes quiet, and the two shoulder seasons are its peaks rather than its bargains.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| March to June | The stronger of the two business seasons. A full working calendar at both ends, comfortable weather, and steady demand in both directions rather than spikes. | One to two weeks is usually enough. Give us the hour you need to be on the ground in London and we will work back from it. |
| September to November | The second business season and in practice the busiest weeks of the year on this corridor, with a heavy European autumn calendar pulling traffic west. | Two to three weeks. In this window the constraint is which aircraft is free rather than whether the route is possible. |
| August | Quiet, and genuinely so. European business flying drops sharply in July and August — EUROCONTROL’s analysis of the sector identifies a pronounced summer trough — and Istanbul empties along with everywhere else. | The easiest month of the year for short notice, and usually the cheapest. If your dates are movable, this is where they are worth moving to. |
| The second half of December | The other quiet window, and a short one. Business travel in both directions stops for roughly a fortnight and then resumes abruptly. | Short notice is realistic, with the caveat that handling offices keep holiday hours at both ends. |

London is a hinge as often as it is a destination on this corridor, and all three business-aviation fields sit inside an hour of most of western Europe by air.
Luton, Farnborough and Biggin Hill are minutes apart in the air and up to an hour apart by road. Send the postcode and we will name the field rather than let you pick from a map.
Ask which field ›All three London business-aviation fields handle helicopters, and our own published helicopter rates start at 750 EUR per hour on a Eurocopter AS350.
Helicopter charter ›London to Paris is a short sector and one of the busiest business-aviation corridors in Europe, which is why empty legs appear on it so regularly.
