Florence to London by private jet takes about 1 h 59 over 1,242 km, normally Peretola to Luton and normally on a light or midsize jet. Indicative price from €5 700 for the whole aircraft, one way. The decision that shapes this trip is made at the Florence end, not the London one: Peretola is a small, constrained city airport, and whether your aeroplane can use it is settled before the dates are. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; the operations desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.
Two hours north-west from Tuscany to a London business-aviation field, out of the airport ten minutes from the Duomo when the aircraft suits it and out of Pisa or Bologna when it does not. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs.
REQUEST A QUOTEAlmost every route page on this website spends its energy on the arrival. This one spends it on the departure. Florence Peretola is remarkably convenient — it sits on the edge of the city, and the drive in from a morning meeting is measured in minutes. It is also small, hemmed in by terrain, and it accepts a shorter list of aircraft types than most European airports of its traffic level; weather disrupts it more readily than it disrupts a large field. All of that is manageable, and only if it is dealt with in advance. The London end, by contrast, offers a clean choice between three good airports and no complications at all.
Four airports matter here and only one is in London. Peretola is the one everybody wants and the one with conditions attached; Pisa and Bologna are the answers when those conditions are not met, and neither is a consolation prize. At the London end you are choosing a road journey rather than a flight.
| Airport | Codes | Great-circle to London Luton | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Florence Peretola | FLR / LIRQ | 1,242 km | The default and by a wide margin the most convenient, because it is on the edge of the city rather than an hour outside it. It is also a constrained field: a short runway, terrain close by, and an approach for which crews and aircraft have to be suitable. We confirm that your aeroplane can use Peretola before we quote it, and we say plainly when it cannot. |
| Pisa | PSA / LIRP | a comparable sector | The principal alternative, west of Florence and a straightforward road connection. A larger airport, fewer restrictions on aircraft type, better resilience in bad weather: the right answer when the party needs a cabin Peretola will not take, or when a diversion would wreck the day. It also serves anyone whose trip starts on the coast or in Lucca. |
| Bologna | BLQ / LIPE | a comparable sector | North of Florence over the Apennines. Worth naming when the party is assembling in Emilia-Romagna rather than in Tuscany. The road journey is the whole of the decision; the flight is not materially different. |
| London Luton | LTN / EGGW | arrival | Where most of this traffic lands and the field with the deepest choice of aircraft on any given day. Farnborough takes no scheduled traffic at all and gives the shortest ground time; Biggin Hill is much the best arrival for south and east London, Kent and the City. A few minutes separate the three in the air and an hour can separate them on the road, so give us the postcode and we will name the field. |
Airport coordinates and codes: OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026. London Luton movement count: EBAA 2023 via Private Jet Card Comparisons, 4 June 2024. Sector lengths from Pisa and Bologna are described as comparable rather than measured: we have not computed them from the same dataset, and the difference that matters here is the road journey. Constraints at Peretola are described qualitatively; acceptance for a specific type and date is confirmed with the airport.
Two hours is comfortable for a light jet and easy for a midsize, so on distance alone this route would need no conversation about aircraft at all. The departure airport supplies one instead. The types below combine a cabin that suits a two-hour business flight with performance that suits a constrained field; where a party needs something larger, the honest answer is usually a different airport rather than a different aeroplane.
Six to eight passengers, 2.27 cubic metres of hold and 3,650 km of range. The commonest type on this corridor and usually the easiest to arrange at short notice, which on a route where the departure field narrows the list is worth a great deal.
See the Embraer Phenom 300 ›Seven to eight passengers in a stand-up cabin with the largest hold of the three at 2.55 cubic metres. The type to name when the party is travelling with real luggage — a Tuscan fortnight rather than a morning meeting — or when there are eight of you rather than five.
See the Cessna Citation XLS+ ›Six to eight passengers, full galley, separate lavatory and 5,463 km of range. Well inside itself over 1,242 km, which is exactly why it earns its place when London is the middle stop of a multi-city day rather than the end of one.
See the Hawker 800XP ›All three types are on our own fleet pages. Larger cabins fly this sector easily but are likelier to need Pisa or Bologna than Peretola; if the party is ten or more, tell us early and we will build the trip around the airport that fits.
From €5 700 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.
No published price for the Florence to London city pair has reached us from a source we would reprint, so the figure above is our own floor rather than a quotation, and the table below carries published hourly references for the cabin class. Better to show the working than invent a number.
What moves the real figure here is not the distance and not usually the date — it is where the aeroplane is when you ask. Aircraft move up and down this corridor constantly, and the gap between a quotation that includes a long positioning flight and one that does not is far larger than the gap between a Tuesday and a Thursday.
The second variable is the airport, and it cuts both ways. Peretola is the convenient departure, but the smaller pool of types that can use it sometimes makes it the dearer one. Pisa and Bologna widen the choice and can produce a better number. We show both when the difference is real, because an hour in a car is a price too.

Florence runs on two calendars at once and they do not agree. The business calendar peaks in spring and autumn around the trade fairs. The visitor calendar peaks in high summer, when the city is at its fullest and its least comfortable. Departures to London feel both, and the weeks to plan around are the ones where they overlap.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| January and June | The Florence menswear fairs bring a concentrated trade audience into the city for a few days. Everything that flies in must fly out inside the same short window, which is felt on departures rather than arrivals. | Three to four weeks for a departure in those weeks, and fix the hour before you settle the aircraft type. If your date sits inside a fair, Pisa is worth considering from the outset. |
| March to June and September to November | The general business pattern, steady rather than spiky, and the best flying weather of the year. Private events add weekend traffic through late spring and early autumn. | One to two weeks is usually enough. Tell us the hour you need to be in London and we will work backwards from it, including the road time to whichever field you are leaving from. |
| July and August | The city is full of visitors and empty of business. EUROCONTROL's analysis of European business flying identifies a pronounced July-August trough, and Florence follows it closely. | The cheapest and easiest weeks on this pairing, and the ones where genuine short notice works. Heat affects performance out of a constrained field, so an early departure is worth asking for. |

The London end is the easy end. The only decision worth making carefully is which of the three fields puts you closest to where the evening actually happens.
Luton, Farnborough and Biggin Hill are minutes apart in the air and an hour apart on the road. The right one is decided by your address, not by the distance from Florence.
Ask which field ›All three London business-aviation fields handle helicopters, which is the quickest way from an outer field into the middle of the city. Our own published rates start at 750 EUR per hour on a Eurocopter AS350.
Helicopter charter ›London is frequently the middle of the day rather than the end of it. Paris is under an hour onward, and it is a published route from London on this site.
