London to Monaco by private jet takes about 1 h 46 over 1,075 km, and the one thing to understand before anything else is that no jet lands in Monaco. The aircraft lands at Nice Cote d'Azur and the last 18 km is flown by helicopter — the standard Riviera transfer, and the quickest way in. Indicative price from €5 100 for the whole aircraft one way for the jet sector, with the helicopter leg quoted inside the trip or as a separate line, as you prefer. Written quotation within 30 minutes; the operations desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.
The helicopter crossing from Nice takes seven to ten minutes. By road the same journey along the coast is about an hour, and longer in traffic. The helicopter is always flown by a partner operator rather than our own aircraft, and it can be quoted inside the price of the trip or as a separate line — whichever suits you. Some clients ask for the road transfer from the outset, and that is equally standard.
Under two hours from a London business-aviation field to the Cote d'Azur, then a few minutes over the water into the Principality. Whole aircraft, single seats, empty legs, and the helicopter arranged as part of the same booking.
REQUEST A QUOTEMonaco is two square kilometres of coastline with a heliport and no runway, so every private-aviation arrival is really two journeys: a jet sector into the Riviera and a short transfer at the end. Nice Cote d'Azur is where the jet goes, and it is one of the busiest business-aviation airports in Europe, which on most dates is an advantage — aircraft, crews and handling are all plentiful. On a handful of dates in the year it is the opposite, and those dates are the whole of the planning problem on this route.
Three departures in London and, at the Riviera end, a decision that is really about the last twenty kilometres rather than about the flight. Nice is the arrival for almost all of this traffic. Cannes Mandelieu exists and occasionally earns its place. The heliport in Monaco is not an alternative to either — it is the end of the journey, not a place a jet can reach.
| Airport | Codes | Great-circle to Monaco | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| London Luton | LTN / EGGW | 1,075 km | The default departure, about fifty kilometres north of central London, with the deepest choice of aircraft on any given day. On a corridor as busy as London to the Cote d'Azur that depth is what makes short notice work. |
| Farnborough | FAB / EGLF | a little shorter | South-west of London, business aviation only and no scheduled traffic at all, so ground time is minimal. It also sits on the Riviera side of London, which makes it marginally the shorter sector as well as the quicker one for Surrey, Hampshire and the Thames Valley. |
| London Biggin Hill | BQH / EGKB | a little shorter | South-east of London, and the right departure for south and east London, Kent and the City. As with Farnborough, the few minutes saved in the air are beside the point; the road time is the argument. |
| Nice Cote d'Azur | NCE / LFMN | arrival by jet | Where the aeroplane actually lands, with a dedicated business-aviation terminal and one of the highest business-aviation movement counts in Europe. Monaco heliport is 18 km on from here — our own published figure — and the helicopter shuttle across is the standard Riviera transfer. By road the same journey is a coast drive that can take a great deal longer in season. |
| Cannes Mandelieu | CEQ / LFMD | an alternative | Further west along the coast and a useful alternative when the party is assembling on the Croisette rather than in Monaco, or when Nice is at its most congested. It is a smaller field with its own constraints on aircraft type, so we confirm it for your aeroplane rather than offer it blind. |
| Genoa | GOA / LIMJ | about 200 km from Monaco | A fallback rather than a first choice: useful when Nice is at its busiest and slots are unavailable. The road transfer from here is long, so it is used when the alternative is not flying that day. |
Airport coordinates and codes: OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026. The 18 km from Nice Cote d'Azur to Monaco heliport and the 1,074 km London-Nice jet sector are figures Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website. Relative sector lengths from Farnborough and Biggin Hill are qualitative; we have not measured them from the same dataset.
At 1,075 km this is a short, easy sector and range plays no part in the decision. What decides it is the party and the luggage, and on the Riviera the luggage is usually the honest answer: a week in Monaco generates rather more of it than a day of meetings does.
Six to eight passengers, 2.27 cubic metres of hold, 3,650 km of range. The commonest type on the London-Riviera corridor and normally the quickest to arrange at short notice, which in May and September is the quality that matters most.
See the Embraer Phenom 300 ›Seven to eight passengers in a stand-up cabin, with the largest hold of the three at 2.55 cubic metres. The type to name when the party is travelling properly rather than with briefcases, which on this route is most of the time.
See the Cessna Citation XLS+ ›Six to eight passengers, full galley, separate lavatory, 5,463 km of range. Well inside itself here, and worth naming when Monaco is one stop of a longer Mediterranean week rather than the destination.
See the Hawker 800XP ›All three types are on our own fleet pages. The helicopter leg is arranged alongside the jet: our own published helicopter rates start at 750 EUR per hour on a Eurocopter AS350.
From €5 100 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.
The figure at the top of this page is our own floor for the jet sector, London to the Riviera, built from published hourly references for the cabin class and the flight time above. The helicopter into Monaco is flown by a partner operator, so it can appear inside the price of the trip or as its own line — whichever you prefer. The table below shows the published references we work against, including third-party whole-aircraft prices for the same jet sector.
Two dates in the year behave unlike any others on this route. Grand Prix week in May and the Yacht Show in September both concentrate a very large amount of arriving traffic into a few days, and what runs short is not the aeroplane but everything around it: handling, parking on the ground at Nice, helicopter slots and hotel rooms. Prices in those weeks are set by that scarcity rather than by the distance from London.
Outside them, this is one of the most competitive corridors in European business aviation, and the number is driven mainly by where the aircraft happens to be that morning. Ask for the return leg at the same time: on a corridor this dense the aeroplane usually has somewhere else to be, and a pair of dates lets the operator plan around you instead of guessing.

The Riviera calendar is not a smooth curve with a summer bulge. It has two spikes that dominate everything else, a solid summer either side of them, and a long quiet winter in which the same trip is a different proposition entirely.
| Period | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Grand Prix week, May | The single hardest week of the year to arrive. Nice absorbs the traffic for the whole Principality: WingX recorded 315 business-jet arrivals into Nice during the 2024 Grand Prix alone. Aircraft parking, handling and helicopter slots all run short together. | Book months rather than weeks ahead, and accept that the departure hour will be chosen from what is available rather than from what you would prefer. The helicopter leg needs booking at the same time as the jet, not afterwards. |
| September, Yacht Show | The second spike, and it behaves like the first: a short, intense concentration of arrivals into a coastline that is already busy at the end of the summer. | Six to eight weeks. If your dates have any flexibility at all, arriving a day before the crowd is worth more than any amount of negotiation. |
| June to September, and the winter | Outside the two spikes the summer is busy but manageable, and from November to March the coast is quiet and the route is easy and cheap by comparison. | One to two weeks in summer; genuine short notice works in winter. Ask about empty legs all year: this corridor generates them constantly. |

This is the part of the trip that people underestimate, and the part that decides whether the journey feels like an hour and three quarters or like most of a day.
The standard Riviera transfer and the reason the route works at all: a short hop from Nice across the bay into the heliport, arranged with the jet as one booking. Our published helicopter rates start at 750 EUR per hour on a Eurocopter AS350.
Helicopter charter ›Possible, and perfectly pleasant out of season. In July, in Grand Prix week or on a Friday evening it can take a very long time indeed, which is precisely when people wish they had booked the helicopter.
Ask us to arrange both ›Nice, Cannes and Antibes are all closer to the runway than Monaco is, and for a party split along the coast the answer is often one jet and two transfers rather than one of each.
London to Nice ›Tell us your dates and how many of you there are. Your dedicated flight advisor will come back with aircraft options and a firm price.
