Paris to Cairo is a 3,215 km sector of about 4 h 28 in the air, Le Bourget to Cairo, and a heavy jet crosses it non-stop with the cabin full. Indicative price from €29 000 for the whole aircraft, one way. The Egyptian end needs permits rather than just a booking, so the earlier you tell us the dates the better; the operations desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.
Four and a half hours south, and the flying is the simple half. What is not automatic is that a flight into Cairo by a non-Egyptian operator needs permits and slots that are applied for rather than assumed, and that the arrival is a third-country entry with immigration and customs. Neither is unusual – both take working days. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, arranged 24/7.
REQUEST A QUOTEA long sector with an easy departure and a deliberate arrival. Le Bourget is wholly business aviation, eight kilometres from the périphérique, and with 55,751 movements in 2023 the busiest such field in Europe by a wide margin – so nothing at the Paris end will surprise you except the night restriction if you wanted to leave very late. Cairo is where the lead time goes: permits and slots for a non-Egyptian operator are applied for, not assumed, and a trip planned on a Friday for a Monday is a different proposition here than between two European capitals.
Cairo is a very large city with a very large airport on one side of it, and a second field on the other side that most people do not know exists. Which of the two you want depends entirely on your address, because crossing Cairo by road is not a detail – on the wrong afternoon it is longer than an hour of the flight.
| Airport | Codes | Distance | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paris Le Bourget | LBG / LFPB | 3,215 km | Where the leg starts, and the field every figure on this page is measured from. Eight kilometres from the périphérique, wholly given over to business aviation, 55,751 movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). Night movements are restricted. |
| Paris Orly | ORY / LFPO | 3,207 km | Eight kilometres shorter than Le Bourget and a different proposition on the ground – a large scheduled airport with a business-aviation facility attached. It becomes the answer when Le Bourget has no window at the hour you need, and it suits departures from the south and west of Paris. |
| Cairo | CAI / HECA | arrival | The default and the field every figure here is measured to. Egypt's principal international gateway, on the north-east side of the city, with separate handling for business aviation. The right answer for Heliopolis, New Cairo and the eastern half of the metropolis, and for any onward scheduled connection. |
| Sphinx International | SPX / HESX | 3,184 km | Thirty-one kilometres shorter in the air – about two minutes – and on the western side of the city, which for Giza, 6th of October City and the western suburbs can remove a very long drive across Cairo. The two minutes are irrelevant; the drive is not. |

Three thousand two hundred kilometres with a full cabin is heavy-jet work if you want it done without arithmetic. Smaller cabins will do it, and we will tell you exactly what they cost you in passengers, luggage or a stop.
The default. Non-stop with the cabin full, a proper galley and room to work or sleep for four and a half hours. On a route where the ground arrangements are the difficult part, the aircraft should not be.
See the fleet ›Non-stop with a lighter load, and a real saving when there are five or six of you travelling light. We will name the load limit rather than discover it at the weigh-in.
See the fleet ›For a larger party, a night departure, or when Cairo is a stop on the way to the Gulf or east Africa rather than the destination. It also carries the margin for a long routing without a technical stop.
See the fleet ›Indicative price from €29 000 for the whole aircraft, one way – a floor for a sensible aircraft on an ordinary day rather than a quotation for your trip.
Above the floor sit the cabin, which moves it most; the positioning flight, because the aircraft has to reach Le Bourget and go somewhere afterwards; crew duty and any overnight, since a same-day return over four and a half hours each way is not realistic; and handling, permits and slots at the Egyptian end. That last line is genuine work rather than a fee, and it is the reason we would rather quote you on Tuesday for the following week than on Friday for Monday.
Where the total can come down: keeping the aircraft with you if your stay is short, rather than paying for it to fly away and return; and empty legs, which appear on the north-south corridors into Egypt with some regularity. Both require flexibility, and we will say which one applies to your dates rather than offering the idea in the abstract.
GET A FIRM PRICEThe comfortable months are the busy ones: March to June and September to November, at both ends of the route. High summer is quieter for everything that is not business, for the obvious reason. The winter weeks around the turn of the year fill again, and they fill early.
Book early for one reason above all others: the permits. Slots and permissions for a non-Egyptian operator take working days, and no amount of urgency shortens them. Send the dates as soon as you have them, even if the passenger list is not final – the clearance process can start while the seats are still being argued about.
Flag a mixed-nationality passenger list at the same time. Entry requirements vary by nationality and that, not the aircraft, is usually the piece that sets the earliest possible departure.
Cairo is a hinge between three regions, and a good share of these trips carry on rather than turn round. Arranged at the same time, the second leg shares the permit work of the first.
Hurghada, Sharm and the resort fields are short hops from Cairo, and if the coast is the real destination we will quote it directly rather than add a long domestic leg to a long international one.
See published routes ›Cairo is a natural staging point. Tell us the onward destination at the enquiry and both legs are cleared as one piece of work instead of two sequential ones.
Paris to Dubai ›Our own desk is in Larnaca, a short sector north, and it is a practical European re-entry point part way through a longer trip.
Paris to Larnaca ›Tell us your dates and how many of you there are. Your dedicated flight advisor will come back with aircraft options and a firm price.
