Private Jet Charter Paris to Athens

Paris to Athens is 2,113 km and about 3 h 05 in the air, Paris Le Bourget to Athens, normally on a midsize jet. We publish no starting figure for this sector, because on three hours the cabin you choose moves the price far more than the distance does. Send the dates and the passenger count and a written quotation follows inside 30 minutes; the operations desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.

Three hours south-east, the length at which a private flight stops being a convenience and starts being the reason the day works at all. Both ends are inside Schengen, so there is no border to plan around – what is left is the aircraft, and on this sector that is a real choice rather than a formality. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, arranged 24/7.

The route at a glance

A proper sector rather than a hop, and the change of scale is what shapes everything else. Le Bourget is the busiest business-aviation field in Europe, with 55,751 movements counted by EBAA in 2023, so the aircraft side of the departure is never the difficulty. At the far end Athens handles business aviation through its own terminal alongside a busy scheduled operation. Over three hours the cabin stops being a matter of taste: a light jet would need a fuel stop or a very short passenger list, and a midsize does it without either.

Distance
2,113 km
Great-circle between airport coordinates, Paris Le Bourget to Athens; the track actually flown is longer than the straight line
Flight time
approx. 3 h 05 min
A model estimate rather than a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction. Routing over the Alps and the Adriatic moves it more than wind does
Departure
LBG
Paris Le Bourget LFPB, business aviation only, closest of the Paris fields to the centre; Orly is the alternative, Charles de Gaulle only for a long-haul connection
Arrival
ATH
Athens LGAV, with a business-aviation terminal separate from the main halls, and effectively the only sensible field for the city
Typical aircraft
Midsize jet
A Citation XLS, a Learjet 60 or a Hawker 900XP crosses it non-stop with the cabin full; a light jet can only do it with fewer people aboard
Busiest months
Mar – Jun, Sep – Nov
Business traffic in spring and autumn, with a separate leisure peak through July and August towards the islands rather than the city
The distance is a great-circle figure between airport coordinates, so the track actually flown is longer than it. The time is a model estimate and not a measured block time: the model is fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, it makes no distinction between the outbound and the return, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

The choice on this route is at the Paris end, not the Greek one. Athens is effectively a single answer; Paris offers three fields that behave very differently, and picking the wrong one can cost you an hour on the ground before you have flown a metre.

AirportCodesDistanceSuits you if
Paris Le BourgetLBG / LFPB2,113 kmWhere the leg starts, and the field every distance and time on this page is measured from. Business aviation and nothing else, no scheduled traffic, several competing handling agents, and the closest of the Paris airports to the centre: 55,751 business-aviation movements in 2023 (EBAA 2023). The car meets the aircraft rather than the end of a terminal.
Paris OrlyORY / LFPOdeparture alternativeYour morning starts in the southern or south-western half of Paris, or Le Bourget handling is genuinely committed that week. Orly takes business jets subject to slots, but it is a scheduled airport, so you queue with airline traffic for the slot and again for the stand.
Paris Charles de GaulleCDG / LFPGconnection onlySomebody in the party is arriving off a scheduled intercontinental flight and the walk matters more than the drive. It is not a default and it is not what the figures on this page are calculated from.
AthensATH / LGAVarrivalWhere the leg ends, and effectively the only field for the city. Business aviation is handled through its own terminal rather than the main halls, so the ground time at the Greek end is a handling question rather than a choice-of-airport one. If the Aegean islands are the real destination, say so and we will quote the island field directly instead of adding a drive and a ferry.

Aircraft for Paris to Athens

Two thousand kilometres is where the aircraft choice becomes an honest question rather than a preference. The cabin has to hold your party comfortably for three hours, and the range has to do it without a technical stop that would add an hour to a journey you chartered to save one.

Midsize jet

The sensible default, and what we quote unless you tell us otherwise. A Citation XLS, a Learjet 60 or a Hawker 900XP takes seven to nine passengers and full luggage across non-stop, with a cabin you can work or sleep in rather than merely sit in.

Super-midsize

Worth the step up when the party is larger, the luggage is awkward, or the schedule has you landing in Athens and going straight into a meeting. More cabin, a quieter ride at altitude, and margin in hand if the routing goes the long way round weather.

See the fleet ›

Light jet

Possible, and honest about what it costs you: fewer people, less luggage, and on some days a fuel stop. It can make sense for two or three passengers when the saving is real, but we will say plainly when it does not.

What it costs

We publish no starting figure for Paris to Athens. On a three-hour sector the honest variable is not the distance — that is fixed — but the cabin, and the gap between a light jet and a super-midsize on the same route is wide enough that a single printed number would mislead whichever aircraft you ended up flying.

The rest of the arithmetic is the part nobody sees. Where the aircraft spent the previous night decides the positioning cost; whether the crew can operate there and back inside one duty day decides whether an overnight is priced in; and Athens handling, parking and the return slot all sit in the total. Brokers publish hourly rates by aircraft class, and those rates are a reasonable way to compare categories — they are not a price for this city pair, and multiplying one by three hours produces a figure no operator would sign.

Where the saving usually is: a same-day return, when the timetable allows one, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of being repositioned twice; and an empty leg, if your dates can bend. Aircraft reposition between western Europe and the eastern Mediterranean constantly through the season, and a proportion of those flights carry nobody.

When to fly, and when to book early

Two different peaks sit on this corridor and they do not overlap. Business traffic runs March to June and September to November, concentrated on Monday mornings out and Thursday or Friday evenings home. Leisure traffic runs July and August, and most of it is not going to Athens at all – it is going through it, to the islands.

Book early for the summer weeks, and earlier still for a Friday or a Sunday in August: the Greek season compresses an entire year of demand into about ten weeks, and by then the aircraft that would otherwise be idle in Paris are already working the Aegean. Book early too around the major conference dates in Athens, when handling and parking fill before the aircraft do.

Short notice is workable outside those windows. What it costs you is the pick of the cabin rather than the flight itself: at two days' notice we quote what is genuinely available, which in late March is most things and in mid-August is whatever has just landed empty.

Onward from Athens

Athens is often the doorway rather than the destination, and the second leg costs far less arranged at the same time as the first – the aircraft is already there and the crew is already yours.

The Greek islands

Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu and the smaller fields are short hops from Athens and we quote them directly. If the island is where you are actually going, flying to it beats landing in Athens and finding a boat.

Empty legs out of Athens

Aircraft that brought somebody in have to leave again, and through the season a good many of them leave empty. If your return date is flexible, this is where the saving lives.

Questions we get about this route

How long is Paris to Athens, and does the aircraft go non-stop?
About 3 h 05 in the air over 2,113 km, non-stop on a midsize jet or anything larger. A light jet can be made to work with a short passenger list, and on some days with a fuel stop – we will tell you which before you book rather than after. The flying figure is a model estimate fitted to the flight times we publish ourselves, not a measured block time, and the model takes no view of direction.
Which Paris airport should we leave from?
Le Bourget unless there is a reason not to. It takes no scheduled traffic at all, it is the closest of the Paris fields to the centre, and it is where the deepest pool of available aircraft in Europe sits. Orly is the alternative if your morning starts south or south-west of the city, or in a week when Le Bourget handling is genuinely full. Charles de Gaulle only when somebody is connecting off a long-haul.
Is there a border to cross?
No. France and Greece are both inside the Schengen area, so this is an internal flight: no passport desk on either side. Passenger details are still needed for the flight plan and for handling, and identification should be carried, but there is no immigration procedure to build into the schedule.
Why is no price published for this route?
Because the cabin decides it. Over three hours the difference between a light jet, a midsize and a super-midsize is large enough that one printed figure would be wrong for two of the three. Positioning, the crew duty day and Athens handling all sit in the total as well. Tell us the dates and the number of passengers and you get a real number in writing rather than an indicative one.
Can we do Paris and Athens in a single day?
Sometimes, and it depends on the crew duty day rather than the aircraft. Three hours each way plus your time on the ground in Athens adds up quickly, and beyond a certain hour the crew legally cannot bring you home. Give us your meeting times and we will say straight away whether one crew can do it, or whether the honest answer is an overnight.
We are going to the islands, not to Athens. What then?
Then say so and we will quote the island field directly. Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu all take business aircraft, and flying to the island beats landing in Athens and adding a domestic hop or a ferry. Where the runway or the season does not allow it, we will tell you and quote Athens plus the onward leg instead.
Are there empty legs on this corridor?
Yes, particularly through the Greek season when aircraft reposition between western Europe and the Aegean almost daily. The discount range brokers publish is 50 to 75 percent. The trade is fixed dates: an empty leg is somebody else's schedule that you are joining. Current empty legs
How late can we book?
Same-day is possible outside the summer peak, and at two or three days' notice it is routine. In August the constraint is not the aircraft but where the aircraft already are – most of the Mediterranean fleet is working the islands. Call the operations desk on +357 95 119759, staffed twenty-four hours a day, and you will be told what genuinely exists.
