Mykonos to Malaga is 2,639 km and about 3 h 45 in the air, the full width of the Mediterranean from the Aegean to the Costa del Sol. Indicative price from €32 600 for the whole aircraft, one way – a large figure, and the reasons for it are on the ground rather than in the air. Both ends are at their busiest in the same eight weeks. +357 95 119759, any hour.
Nearly four hours west, and the longest purely-summer sector we publish. No border, nothing unusual to file – but an island that cannot park the aeroplane at one end and a coast whose slots tighten in July and August at the other. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs, arranged 24/7.
REQUEST A QUOTEA long crossing between two places that share a calendar. Mykonos is one small airport carrying an enormous summer: slot and prior permission both required, finite parking, restricted night operations, and ground time held to around forty minutes because the island does not park private aircraft in the peak. Malaga is the Costa del Sol field with full business-aviation handling – capable, and in summer its slots tighten too, which is when Gibraltar and Jerez become genuine answers rather than footnotes.
One departure that is negotiated, and three arrivals along a coast that is longer than it looks on a map. The western end of the Costa del Sol is genuinely closer to another territory's airport than to Malaga's.
| Field | Code | Role on this route | What decides it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mykonos | JMK / LGMK | departure | Slot and prior permission both required. In peak season the island does not park private aircraft, so ground time is held to around forty minutes and general-aviation slots are restricted. The hour is arranged in advance rather than chosen on the day. |
| Malaga Costa del Sol | AGP / LEMG | arrival | The default and the field every figure here is measured to. Full business-aviation handling, about eight kilometres from Malaga and roughly fifty minutes by road from Marbella and Puerto Banús – longer on a summer Friday. In summer its slots tighten, so the arrival window is booked rather than assumed. |
| Gibraltar | GIB / LXGB | arrival alternative | At the far western end of the coast and closer to Sotogrande than Malaga is. A separate territory with its own border formalities – which for that end of the coast cost less time than the drive would. |
| Jerez | XRY / LEJR | arrival alternative | Inland from Cádiz, and the sensible arrival only for parties heading into western Andalusia. We put it forward when the drive genuinely favours it rather than as an automatic option. |

Two and a half thousand kilometres with a full cabin is midsize to super-midsize work, and at this distance the cabin is the largest single line in the quotation. The island adds its usual second criterion about size and turnaround.
The comfortable answer for a full party: non-stop, nearly four hours, and a cabin you can work or sleep in rather than simply occupy. Confirmed with the island for the actual aircraft.
See the fleet ›Non-stop with a slightly lighter load, and a real saving when the party allows it. Also easier to place into a restricted island slot at the height of the season.
See the fleet ›For a larger group, or when the coast is a stop on the way somewhere further west rather than the destination. More cabin and more margin on a long routing.
See the fleet ›Indicative price from €32 600 for the whole aircraft, one way. It is the highest floor of any purely-summer sector we publish, and it deserves an explanation rather than a shrug.
Three things stack up. The cabin, because at this distance with a full party you are in the larger categories. The island, because the aeroplane cannot wait on Mykonos in season – its movements before and after your sector belong to your trip. And the calendar, because both ends are at full stretch in the same eight weeks, so the aircraft that flies you is rarely one that happened to be nearby and idle.
The honest ways down are the same as on every summer route and they matter more here than elsewhere: fly outside the peak weeks if you can, fly mid-week rather than at a changeover, and ask about empty legs – westbound repositioning across the Mediterranean is common, and on a sector this expensive the saving is correspondingly large.
GET A FIRM PRICEBoth ends run June to September and peak in August, so this route has no quiet half in high summer. The Aegean season ends first; late September and early October are the comfortable weeks, with the Costa del Sol still warm.
Book early, and give us both hours. Two windows have to agree – a restricted island slot out and a tightened Malaga slot in – and securing one while assuming the other is the commonest reason a plan on this corridor moves.
Tell us where on the coast you are actually going before we quote. If it is Sotogrande or the far west, the honest answer may be Gibraltar, and that changes both the drive and the quotation.
The Costa del Sol connects easily to the rest of Spain and to the Balearics, and the second leg is easier arranged with the first.
North-east to the Balearics in about an hour, and a common continuation when the summer moves from one coast to another rather than ending.
Malaga to Ibiza ›North to the capital in about an hour, and the usual shape when the coast was the holiday and business is the way home.
Malaga to Madrid ›The common way home from this coast, and a sector we publish in its own right.
Malaga to London ›Tell us your dates and how many of you there are. Your dedicated flight advisor will come back with aircraft options and a firm price.
