Private Jet Charter London to Saint-Tropez

London to Saint-Tropez by private jet takes about 1 h 47 over 1,091 km, out of Luton, Farnborough or Biggin Hill into La Mole, normally on a light to midsize jet. Nice at 1,074 km is the alternative when the aircraft is too large for the small field. Indicative price from €5 100 for the whole aircraft, one way. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes; the operations desk answers at any hour on +357 95 119759.

Under two hours from London to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The flight is simple and identical whichever field you choose; the decision that actually shapes the day is which of the three coastal airports your aircraft can use, and how you cover the last stretch in August.

The route at a glance

Three airports serve this journey and they sit within a kilometre or two of each other as the aircraft flies: La Mole is 1,091 km from London Luton, Nice 1,074 km and Cannes-Mandelieu 1,075 km. The flying time is effectively identical, which means the choice between them carries no aeronautical cost at all — and that is exactly why people choose badly. La Mole puts you closest but accepts the least: a short runway restricted to smaller types, and a short season. Nice accepts anything and leaves you with the coast road, which in high summer is the least predictable part of the entire journey. The right answer depends on the size of your party, the weight of your luggage and the week you are travelling, and it changes between June and August.

Distance is the great-circle figure between airport coordinates from the OurAirports open dataset. Your quotation carries the real schedule.

Which airports we use

This is a page about four fields, not one. The London end is a matter of your morning. The coastal end is a real decision, and it is made by the aircraft rather than by preference.

One comparison is worth having in front of you. From London Luton, La Mole is 1,091 km, Nice 1,074 km, Cannes-Mandelieu 1,075 km and the Monaco heliport 1,075 km. In the air these are the same journey. On the ground they are four quite different afternoons, and in August the difference between them is measured in hours rather than minutes.

AirportCodesGreat-circle from LutonWhat to know
La Mole Saint-TropezLTT / LFTZ1,091 kmThe field in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez itself, and the shortest transfer of the four by a wide margin. The runway is short and restricted to smaller types, and the season it operates is a short one. For a light jet with a modest load it is the best arrival on this page. For a full midsize cabin it often is not, and we will tell you so before you book rather than after.
Nice Cote d’AzurNCE / LFMN1,074 kmThe reliable answer and one of the best-served business-aviation airports in Europe. It takes any aircraft, it operates all year, and it has the deepest choice of aircraft on the day. The cost is the coast road, which in high summer is the least predictable hour and a half of the journey — which is why the helicopter transfer exists.
Cannes-MandelieuCEQ / LFMD1,075 kmCloser to the western end of the coast than Nice and, like La Mole, restricted in the types it accepts. A good arrival for Cannes and the Esterel, a reasonable one for the gulf, and a field to raise early because the aircraft question decides it.
ToulonTLN / LFTHarrival optionWest of the gulf, and the sensible arrival for parties whose destination is the western side of the peninsula or the Var interior. Less pressured in August than the fields to the east, which in the last two weeks of the month is not a small advantage.

Airport coordinates, codes and all great-circle distances: OurAirports open dataset, retrieved 23 August 2026. The description of La Mole follows what we already publish on our own Athens to Nice page: short runway, restricted to smaller types. We quote no runway figures or operating hours because we have not sourced published ones.

Aircraft for London to Saint-Tropez

On this route the aircraft chooses the airport rather than the other way round, which is unusual and worth saying plainly. At 1,091 km every type on this page flies the sector without effort. What varies is which of them La Mole will take, and the answer moves with the load as well as the type.

The practical rule is simple. A small party travelling light has the widest choice of arrival and should consider La Mole first. A full cabin with a summer’s luggage has the narrowest, and should plan on Nice with a transfer and be pleasantly surprised if something better is available on the day. Either way, tell us the numbers and the luggage before you tell us the airport you had in mind; on this pairing that is the order in which the questions actually resolve.

Embraer Phenom 300

Six to eight passengers with 2.27 cubic metres of hold. The type that makes a La Mole arrival most likely, and the easiest of the three to place at short notice in July.

See the Embraer Phenom 300 ›

Cessna Citation XLS+

Seven to eight passengers in a stand-up cabin with 2.55 cubic metres of hold — the largest here. The answer when the luggage is real, and usually paired with a Nice arrival.

See the Cessna Citation XLS+ ›

Hawker 800XP

Six to eight passengers, full galley, separate lavatory, and far more range than this sector asks. Worth naming when the coast is one stop of several rather than the destination.

All three types are on our own fleet pages. If the trip continues by sea, our yacht page is the other half of the arrangement. Luggage allowances are on our luggage page.

What it costs

From €5 100 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

We have found no published route price for London to Saint-Tropez that we would be willing to reprint, so the figure above is a floor: the lowest published light-to-midsize starting rate we can source, multiplied by the flight time on this page, rounded down. It is a sanity check against a quotation, ours included, and it is not a tariff.

Two things move the real number here and both belong to the season rather than to the route. The first is simple scarcity: between the middle of June and the end of August every suitable aircraft on the northern Mediterranean is spoken for, and the one that flies you has to be positioned for the job. The second is ramp space. At the smaller coastal fields there is genuinely limited room to leave an aircraft standing in high summer, so for a short stay the aeroplane frequently departs and returns rather than waiting — which is two positioning legs rather than none. Ask us to compare waiting against repositioning for your actual dates; the cheaper of the two is not always the one people expect.

When to fly, and when to book early

The Riviera has the sharpest season of any corridor on this website. It is not simply that the summer is busier; it is that the last fortnight of July and the whole of August behave like a different market, with different prices, different aircraft availability and different ground logistics from the weeks either side of them.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
Mid-July to the end of AugustThe peak. Aircraft are committed, ramp space at the smaller fields is scarce, and the coast road is the least predictable part of the journey. La Mole is at its hardest to secure precisely when most people want it.Six to eight weeks, and settle the arrival field and the transfer before the aircraft type. Ask us about the helicopter at the same time rather than afterwards.
June and early JulyBusy and manageable. The weather is already the summer weather, the traffic is not yet at its height, and both airports and aircraft are considerably easier to arrange.Three to four weeks. In our experience the best value-for-comfort fortnight of the summer sits here rather than in August.
May and OctoberThe shoulder, and the period the coast’s regulars quietly prefer. Aircraft are easy to place, quotations come back much closer to the floor on this page, and the road transfer behaves itself. One to two weeks. If your dates have any flexibility at all, this is where to put them.
November to AprilThe quiet half of the year. The coast keeps a working life of its own, but the leisure traffic disappears and so does the pressure on every part of the journey.A week is plenty. Confirm the smaller fields with us rather than assuming them; out of season their availability is a question to ask.

Seasonality classification: routes_shortlist.csv, Diamond Executive Aero Services route research, 23 August 2026. July to August European trough: EUROCONTROL, "Getting to the Point: Business Aviation in Europe", Trends in Air Traffic vol. 1 — note that leisure corridors such as this one run against that continental pattern. Search-suggestion evidence: "private jet london to saint tropez", measured 23 August 2026.

The last stretch, and the sea

Almost every trip on this page has a second half that is not flown by the jet. Three ways it usually continues.

Helicopter along the coast

The transfer that makes a Nice arrival competitive with a La Mole one in August, because it replaces the least predictable hour of the day with a scheduled hop. Our published rates start from €750 per hour.

For a fair number of parties the aircraft is the first leg and the boat is the second. We arrange both, and arranging them together is what keeps the handover from becoming the weak point of the day.

Questions we get about this route

How long is the flight from London to Saint-Tropez by private jet?
About 1 hour 47 minutes to La Mole. The great-circle distance from London Luton is 1,091 km, or 589 nautical miles. Nice is almost exactly the same sector at 1,074 km and Cannes-Mandelieu at 1,075 km, so the choice between the three costs nothing in flying time and a great deal in what happens afterwards. The figure is an estimate from our published-times model rather than a measured block time.
Can we actually land at Saint-Tropez itself?
Sometimes, and it depends on the aircraft. La Mole is the airport in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, and it is a small field: the runway is short and restricted to smaller types, and its season is a short one. For a light jet with a modest load it can be the perfect arrival, putting you minutes from where you are going. For a midsize cabin carrying eight people and a summer’s worth of luggage it frequently is not, and the honest answer is Nice with a transfer. Tell us the party size and the luggage first and the airport question answers itself.
What is the alternative if La Mole will not work?
Nice, in almost every case, and it is a strong answer rather than a grudging one. It is 1,074 km from Luton, it is one of the best-served business-aviation airports in Europe, it takes any aircraft you might sensibly charter, and the transfer along the coast can be made by road or by helicopter. Cannes-Mandelieu is the other option: it is 1,075 km from Luton and closer to the western end of the coast, but like La Mole its runway restricts the types that use it. Toulon is the third, and it suits the western side of the gulf.
Is the helicopter transfer worth it?
In August, usually yes, and for a reason that has nothing to do with glamour. The coast road in high summer is the slowest part of the entire journey, and it is the part with the least predictable timing: an hour and a half by car can become three without warning. A helicopter turns that into a short, scheduled hop. Our own published helicopter rates start from €750 per hour. It is also the transfer that makes a Nice arrival genuinely competitive with a La Mole one, which is why we price the two as a pair rather than separately.
Which London airport do we leave from?
Luton, Farnborough or Biggin Hill, chosen by where your morning starts. Luton carries the widest choice of aircraft on the day and is the natural answer for the north and west of the city. Farnborough takes no scheduled traffic at all and is the shortest drive from the Thames Valley and the south-west. Biggin Hill is closest to the City and to south and east London. Minutes apart in the air; up to an hour apart on the road. Tell us the postcode.
How much does a private jet from London to Saint-Tropez cost?
Our indicative floor is from EUR 5 100 one way for the whole aircraft: the lowest published light-to-midsize starting rate we can source, multiplied by the 1 h 47 flight time on this page, rounded down. In July and August the real number sits above it, because the whole Mediterranean fleet is committed and the aircraft that flies you has to be found rather than simply booked. In May or October the same flight is a very different conversation. Send the dates and a written quotation follows within 30 minutes.
Can the aircraft wait for us?
On the coast in high season, often not where you would like it to. Ramp space at the smaller fields is genuinely limited in July and August, which means that for a short stay the aircraft frequently flies away and comes back rather than waiting — two positioning legs instead of none, and it shows in the price. For a stay of a week or more that is the normal arrangement anyway. For a two-night trip it is worth asking us to compare waiting against repositioning before you assume which is cheaper; the answer varies with the field and the date.
Are there empty legs, and can I buy a single seat?
The Riviera generates more empty legs than almost any corridor in Europe, because the summer traffic runs heavily in one direction at each end of the season and aircraft constantly need to get back. Brokers publish discounts of 50 to 75 percent on them. They are led by dates rather than routes, so tell us which day could move and we will watch the corridor. On flights we open for sharing you can buy a single seat instead of the whole aircraft. Current empty legs and more about jet sharing.
