Leeds Bradford to Palma de Mallorca is 1,626 km and about 2 h 28 in the air on a midsize jet, and it is a summer route in the strict sense: the calendar decides more about it than the distance does. Two things are worth naming before the date is fixed. Leeds Bradford sits at 208 m and picks up low cloud when the Pennines do, which on a departure matters less for whether you can leave than for whether your aeroplane can reach you – so we name the alternate when we quote rather than when it happens. And at the island end in July and August, the constraint is slots and parking rather than aircraft. Our own floor is EUR 11,100 one way; the sum is printed below. The summer sector between the north of England and the Balearics, flown in about two and a half hours with no connection and no terminal. Tell us the party and the dates and we will say which aircraft is genuinely placeable on them.
REQUEST A QUOTEA straightforward midsize sector whose difficulty is entirely seasonal: in August both ends are at their busiest at the same time. The Yorkshire end contributes weather and the Balearic end contributes congestion, and between them they account for almost everything that can complicate an otherwise dull two and a half hours.
Operating conditions at both ends change from season to season. We confirm them against your dates rather than against a general rule, and where an alternate is genuinely in play we put it in the quotation rather than raising it on the morning.
Both ends have alternatives, and in August the alternative is sometimes the only thing available. At the Yorkshire end the choice is about the weather and about where your morning starts; at the island end it is about where the aeroplane can stand after it has put you down.
| Field | Codes | Role on this route | What decides it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leeds Bradford | LBA / EGNM | Departure | The Yorkshire field and the closest to Leeds and Harrogate, which is the whole of its case. It sits at 208 m and picks up low cloud when the Pennines do, so the alternate matters here more than usual. On a departure the risk is less that you cannot leave than that the aircraft cannot reach you to collect you, which is why we like to know the evening before where it is coming from. |
| Manchester | MAN / EGCC | Alternative departure | Round-the-clock operation and the usual answer when Leeds is out, about 1 h 15 by road. More driving at the start of the day in exchange for a departure that is far less likely to move. On an August Saturday it is worth pricing both from the outset. |
| Doncaster and Humberside | various | Situational | Occasionally useful for south and east Yorkshire, subject to handling on the day. Worth asking about if that is genuinely where you are starting from, rather than treated as a general option. |
| Palma de Mallorca | PMI / LEPA | Arrival | Full business-aviation handling, and in July and August the binding constraint is slots and parking rather than the availability of an aeroplane. That is an arrival problem specifically: the question is not only whether you can land but where the aircraft stands afterwards, and it is the first thing we ask an operator. |
Two and a half hours with luggage puts this squarely in the midsize class. Below that the cabin starts to tell on the way out, and a family flying to a fortnight in the sun is carrying rather more than a business party flying to a meeting.
The usual answer on this sector: midsize cabin, stand-up height for most, and enough hold for a family with real summer luggage.
Citation XLS+ ›Similar reach with a wider cabin, and frequently the aeroplane that can actually be placed on your date when the XLS cannot.
Hawker 800XP ›Newer cabin, quieter, and the most comfortable of the three over two and a half hours if it can be placed on your date.
Citation Latitude ›All three have pages of their own in the fleet section. Tell us what is travelling with you – bikes, clubs, pushchairs – at the same time as the number of passengers: the hold is the limit rather than the seats.
From €11 100 one way, whole aircraft. That is our own floor rather than a quotation, and it is built from two things and nothing else: 2.47 h charged, above the two-hour minimum, multiplied by 4,500 EUR/h – the published "from" rate for this cabin class (Eurosky, 19.02.2026) – rounded down. A clock and a class of aeroplane; no city pair in it and no direction either.
No published price for this pair has reached us from a source we would be willing to reprint, so the table carries hourly references for the class instead. In the season the real number is set by what is physically in the western Mediterranean or the north of England on your date, not by a rate card.
| Reference | Applies to | Published figure | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whole aircraft, this route | Leeds Bradford to Palma de Mallorca | from €11 100 | Our own floor, not a quotation: 2.47 h charged (two-hour minimum applies) × 4,500 EUR/h, the published "from" rate for the cabin class (Eurosky, 19.02.2026), rounded down |

| Hourly rate, from | Europe | from 2,900 – 3,500 EUR per hour | Broker published range, 19.02.2026 |
| Hourly rate, quoted in dollars | Light to midsize | 3,750 – 4,600 USD per hour | Broker published range, August 2026 |
| Empty leg | varies with the day | brokers publish discounts of 50 – 75% | Broker price pages, retrieved 2026 |
The question that moves the number is where the aeroplane starts. One already in the north of England, or one due back to the Balearics anyway, prices very differently from one flown in empty to collect you. The second item is specific to the southbound leg: parking at the island end in August, where space runs out before aircraft do. If the aircraft cannot stand at Palma it has to go somewhere and come back, and that shows up on your invoice rather than in the schedule. Ask which arrangement your quotation assumes.
And ask what is repositioning your way. This corridor runs hard in both directions through the season, which is why empty legs on it are more realistic than on most.
The hourly figures above are third-party published rates for a class of aeroplane, quoted so you can sanity-check a quotation, ours included. They are not our prices and they are not an offer. The only price we stand behind is the written one against your dates. Call +357 95 119759, 24/7.
GET A FIRM PRICEA summer leisure route in the strict sense, and the calendar matters more here than anything else in the quotation. What runs short in the peak is ground space rather than aeroplanes, at both ends and for different reasons.
| Period | What happens | What to do about it |
|---|---|---|
| June to September | Peak at both ends. Slots and parking are the constraints rather than aircraft availability | Ask about slots and parking in the first message, not after the aircraft has been chosen |
| August Saturdays | The hardest days of the year on this pairing, in either direction | Fly midweek where the plan allows, and price Manchester alongside Leeds from the outset |
| May and October | Shoulder. Good availability and everything at the island end still open | The best value weeks on this route, and the easiest ones on which to move a day |
| November to April | Thin. Handling and services at the island end are reduced | Confirm with us what is actually open before planning around it rather than afterwards |
In any month, the useful thing to send with the dates is the hour and the luggage. The hour is what the Yorkshire weather and the Palma slot both act on; the luggage is what decides the cabin. Neither is a detail that improves by being left until later.
The Balearics are minutes apart by air, and a second short sector is usually cheaper added to the first than booked separately a week later.
Twenty minutes across the water and the continuation asked for most often. Worth quoting at the same time as the inbound rather than after you have arrived.
Palma to Ibiza ›A large share of Balearic trips continue east rather than turning for home. The Cote d'Azur sector is the one we are most often asked to add.
Palma to Nice ›The leg home, published in full. Booking both halves together is what lets the operator plan around the island parking rather than improvise it.
Palma to Leeds Bradford ›Starting from the other side of the Pennines instead? Manchester to Palma de Mallorca is published separately. On to the mainland, see Palma to Barcelona.
Tell us your dates and how many of you there are. Your dedicated flight advisor will come back with aircraft options and a firm price.
All published routes are listed on the route index. Also useful: the fleet, current empty legs, jet sharing.
