Private Jet Charter Tivat to London

Tivat to London is a 1,778 km sector of about 2 hours 39 minutes in the air, and a midsize jet flies it nonstop with the cabin full. The flying is the easy part. The departure is not: Tivat sits at the head of the Bay of Kotor, hemmed in by high ground, on a runway that is short by the standards of the aircraft that want to use it – and an aeroplane is at its heaviest on the take-off roll, with your party, your luggage and the fuel for London all aboard at once. So the first question we settle is which types can actually get out on your date, not which cabin you would prefer. Whole aircraft from €11 900 one way, a calculated floor with its inputs stated. Written quotation inside 30 minutes; +357 95 119759 answers at any hour.

Two and three-quarter hours north-west, from an airfield at the head of a fjord to the flat country around London. Send us the dates, the party and an honest account of the luggage – on this departure the bags are part of the performance calculation rather than an afterthought at the steps.

The route at a glance

On paper this is a short and unremarkable sector: 1,778 km, under three hours, well within midsize range with fuel to spare. In practice the departure end makes it interesting. Which types may operate in and out of Tivat, under what conditions and with what load, is a real question with a real answer rather than a formality – and the answer belongs to the operator, the crew and the authorities against the conditions on the day, not to a web page and not to us. What we do is put your dates, your party and your bags to them before we propose an aeroplane, so that the answer arrives with the quotation instead of at the aircraft steps.

The distance is a great-circle figure between airport coordinates, so the track actually flown is longer than it. The time is a model estimate and not a measured block time: the model is fitted to flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes on this website, it makes no distinction between the outbound and the return, and routing, wind, slots and aircraft type all move it. The schedule in your quotation is the real one.

Which airports we use

Three possible departures on the Adriatic, where the choice is about terrain, aircraft and a national border, and three arrivals in London where the choice is purely about your evening. Read the departure rows properly: this is the one route in the group where the airport decision can change which aeroplane you fly home on.

AirportCodesRoleWhat it means for you
TivatTIV / LYTVdeparture, defaultThe field you want, right on the Bay of Kotor and minutes from Porto Montenegro, Kotor and Budva. It is also a constrained airport: the runway is short relative to the aircraft that would like to use it, and the ground around the bay rises steeply. Which types can operate there, under what conditions and with what payload is confirmed with the operator for your dates – and on a hot, still afternoon in August the answer is not always the same as it is in May. Departing, that calculation is tightest of all, because the aeroplane is heaviest as it rolls.
PodgoricaTGD / LYPGdeparture, all-weatherThe country's inland airport, in the capital, and an easier field on every measure. It becomes the answer when the aeroplane you want is not accepted at Tivat, or when the bay's weather rules the morning out. What it costs is an hour or more of mountain road before you fly – bearable when you knew about it at the booking, and ruinous to a schedule when you learn it at breakfast.
DubrovnikDBV / LDDUdeparture, across the borderUp the coast in Croatia and close enough to the bay to look tempting on a map. The catch is on the ground rather than in the air: Croatia and Montenegro are different countries, so reaching it means an international land crossing with your luggage. Some parties shrug at that and some will not entertain it, which is why we would rather you told us at the enquiry than on the morning.
London LutonLTN / EGGWarrival, defaultWhere most of this traffic lands and the field with the widest choice of aircraft on any given day – 26,661 business-aviation movements in 2023, among the busiest in Europe. Every figure on this page is measured to Luton. Farnborough and Biggin Hill are within a couple of minutes of it on a sector this length, so pick by the road at the end of your day.
Farnborough and Biggin HillFAB / EGLF, BQH / EGKBarrival, by postcodeFarnborough for the south-west, Surrey and the Thames Valley; Biggin Hill for the City, Kent and south-east London. The difference between the three is minutes in the air and can be the better part of an hour in a car, which after a three-hour flight is the difference people actually notice.

Aircraft for Tivat to London

1,778 km is an easy distance for every type below, so range is not what picks the aeroplane here – the departure field is. A midsize cabin with good short-field manners is worth more on this route than a larger one that has to be met at Podgorica instead, and that trade is the whole of the aircraft conversation. Going home it tightens further, because a party that arrived with six bags usually leaves with eight.

Cessna Citation XLS+

Seven or eight seats, a cabin you can stand in and the biggest hold of its class. It also has a long-standing name for behaving well off shorter pavement, which on this particular field is the whole reason it heads our list.

See the Cessna Citation XLS+ ›

Hawker 800XP

Six to eight seats with a proper galley and a separate lavatory, carrying far more range than 1,778 km asks for. That surplus is the point when the Adriatic leg is one of several rather than the only one.

See the Hawker 800XP ›

Cessna Citation Latitude

Eight or nine seats under the highest ceiling here. Homeward, with a tired party and a flat floor to walk on, that height buys more than the handful of knots it costs. Newer airframe, quieter ride.

See the Cessna Citation Latitude ›

All three have their own pages in our fleet. Larger cabins fly to and from the Adriatic regularly, but on this particular departure the sensible order is to establish what the field will take first and choose the aeroplane second – not the other way round.

What it costs

From €11 900 one way. Indicative starting price for this route, rounded down. The date, the aircraft actually available and airport fees move it — tell us your dates and we confirm within 30 minutes.

No published whole-aircraft route price for this pairing has reached us from a source we would be willing to reprint, so the figure above is calculated rather than quoted: the published entry-level European midsize hourly rate applied to the flight time on this page. It is a floor derived from market rates and the length of the sector, not our tariff and not a quotation – and because both of its inputs belong to the aeroplane rather than to the city pair, it stands the same whichever way you fly.

Above the floor, the destination end of a Montenegrin trip does less to the price than the origin end does. Montenegro's season is compressed into about four months, the Bay of Kotor fills up inside them, and a small coastal airport in August is working far harder than it does for the other eight. What that means for a homeward leg is simple enough: an aeroplane coming to collect you in the first week of August has to be fitted into a busy field on a busy day, and an aeroplane that has been waiting for you there has been occupying space that is genuinely scarce.

Which is why the return is the lever rather than the burden. On a short sector the positioning legs are a large share of the total, so a one-way bought on its own is poor value – the aeroplane still has to get there. If this flight is the back half of a trip, price it with the front half. For a stay of two or three nights, keeping the aircraft with you is frequently cheaper than two separate singles, and it removes the ramp-space question as well, because the aeroplane is not standing anywhere for a week.

The hourly ranges are third-party published estimates, reprinted so that you can test a quotation against them – ours included. None is our offer and none binds anybody. The floor at the top of this page is a calculation with its inputs stated, published in preference to a route price we cannot source. Nothing is a price until Diamond Executive Aero Services has quoted your dates in writing. Call +357 95 119759, 24 hours.

When to fly, and when to book early

The Montenegrin year is four crowded months and eight empty ones, with almost nothing in between. That single fact does more to the difficulty of arranging a departure, and to what it costs, than anything else on this page.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
July and AugustEverything at once. The coast road crawls, a small airfield is doing several times its winter workload, and the item nobody thinks of – somewhere for an aeroplane to stand – is what actually runs out.Allow a month or more for a fixed date, and settle the parking question with the aircraft question rather than after it. A no on parking reshapes the trip, not merely the invoice.
June and SeptemberThe two best weeks-blocks of the year: warm water, an open season, and either the crowd has not arrived or it has gone home. Far more aircraft are free on any given date.A fortnight of notice generally does it. Ask for a weekday if you can; Saturdays are where everyone else is.
May and OctoberThe shoulders, and comfortably the best value on this pairing. Nothing is full. The bay's weather is less settled, which is the argument for treating Podgorica as part of the plan rather than as a rescue.A week or two. Movable dates belong here.
November to AprilGenuinely out of season. What little traffic remains is business rather than holiday.Short notice works. In these months it is the forecast rather than the fleet that decides your morning, so the named alternate earns its place.

Questions we get about this route

How long is the flight from Tivat to London by private jet?
About 2 hours 39 minutes nonstop over 1,778 km to Luton, and we publish the same figure for the flight out. It is a model estimate rather than a measured block time, and routing, wind and aircraft type all move it. Farnborough and Biggin Hill are within a couple of minutes of Luton on a sector this length. Allow roughly fifteen minutes on the ground at each end.
Can any private jet depart from Tivat?
No, and this is the question to ask first rather than last. Tivat sits at the head of the Bay of Kotor with high ground around it and a runway that is short relative to the aircraft that would like to use it. Which types may operate there, under what conditions and with what payload is decided by the operator, the crew and the authorities against the actual conditions – not by a web page and not by us. What we do is put your dates, your party and your luggage to them before we propose an aircraft, so the answer arrives at the quotation stage.
Does departing make the calculation harder than arriving?
It is the tighter of the two, for a straightforward reason: an aeroplane is at its heaviest on the take-off roll, with passengers, luggage and the fuel for the whole sector aboard at once. That is why we ask for an honest account of the bags rather than a polite one, and why a party that has collected things over a fortnight should tell us so. The operator runs the numbers against your actual morning, not against a typical one.
What happens if the weather at Tivat is against us?
We file an alternate, and on this route we do it every time rather than only when the forecast looks doubtful. Podgorica is the usual one: inland, more forgiving, and open when the bay is not. The cost of using it is a longer road transfer over the mountains at the start of the day. Knowing that in advance is the difference between a changed plan and a missed departure.
Is Dubrovnik a sensible alternative?
It can be, and it is geographically close to the bay. The consequence to weigh is that Croatia and Montenegro are separate countries, so leaving from Dubrovnik means crossing an international land border by road before you fly. For some parties that is a non-issue and for others it is the whole objection. Raise it when you send the dates and we will set out both options properly rather than assume one for you.
How much does a private jet from Tivat to London cost?
From EUR 11,900 one way for the whole aircraft as our own indicative floor. No published price for this exact city pair has reached us from a source we would reprint, so it is the published entry-level European midsize hourly rate – about 4,500 EUR an hour, against a broker range topping out near 12,900 EUR – applied to the 2 h 39 flight time, that is 2.65 hours, and rounded down. It is a floor and a sanity check rather than a quotation.
Do we need visas or special formalities?
Montenegro is outside both the European Union and the Schengen area, and the United Kingdom is outside both as well, so this is a third-country flight in both directions and the ordinary formalities apply – carried out at the aircraft rather than in a hall. What each passenger needs depends on their nationality and is set by the authorities rather than by us, so check the current official guidance for your party. Send us the complete passenger list with passport details early, and the day itself is uneventful.
Are there empty legs on this corridor?
In season, reasonably often. A short summer route with parties going out for a week or a fortnight produces repositioning flights in both directions, and brokers publish discounts of 50 to 75 percent on them. They are led by dates rather than by routes, so the useful thing is to tell us which week could move. On flights we open for sharing you can also buy a single seat rather than the whole aircraft.
