Private Jet Charter Mykonos to London

Mykonos to London is about 3 h 39 in the air across 2,568 km, off the single runway at Mykonos Island National and into Luton, Biggin Hill or Farnborough, normally on a super-midsize jet. From €22 100 for the whole aircraft, one way. Send the dates and the passenger count and a written quotation follows inside 30 minutes; the operations desk is staffed at every hour on +357 95 119759.

The leg home, flown non-stop in about three and three-quarter hours. The scheduled version of the same journey normally goes through Athens and costs most of a day. Whole aircraft, single seats and empty legs.

The route at a glance

Everything awkward about this route sits at the Mykonos end, and on the way out you meet it as a departure problem rather than an arrival one. The island's business-aviation year is essentially June to September, and inside it a single-runway field on a small Cycladic island absorbs the private traffic of half of Europe. What August rations is ramp space rather than runway capacity: crews drop their passengers and reposition to Athens for the night, so the aircraft that takes you home has often flown in that morning to collect you. The compensation is the empty-leg board, which out of Mykonos is unusually full in high summer.

The distance is a great-circle figure computed from airport coordinates in the OurAirports open dataset. The time beside it is modelled rather than measured: it comes from a simple fit to the flight times Diamond Executive Aero Services already publishes here, and the real number moves with airway routing, wind, slots and aircraft type. The schedule in your quotation is the one that counts.

Which airports we use

At the departure end there is nothing to choose: one runway, and a ramp that decides when an aircraft can be there for you. The choice is at the London end, where three fields will take you, and it is worth making on the drive at the far side rather than on the few kilometres between them.

Aircraft for Mykonos to London

At 2,568 km this is a super-midsize sector: far enough that a midsize type starts trading luggage for fuel, short enough that a heavy jet is a comfort decision rather than a necessary one. Going home, the practical question is usually which of the three can be on the island for your hour and how much hold you need.

Bombardier Challenger 350

Eight to nine passengers, 5,926 km of range and three cubic metres of hold - the largest hold of the three, which is why it is normally first on the list for a group of eight coming off a fortnight.

See the Bombardier Challenger 350 ›

Cessna Citation Sovereign+

Eight to eleven passengers, the biggest seat count here, with a 2.83 cubic metre hold. The type that takes two families home in one aircraft instead of two.

See the Cessna Citation Sovereign+ ›

Gulfstream G280

Ten passengers, 6,667 km of range and 893 km/h, the fastest of the three. It earns the difference when the aircraft has somewhere else to be immediately after it drops you.

Each of the three has its own page in our fleet. When the party is larger than that, a Legacy 650 or Challenger 605 covers the same sector.

When to fly, and when to book early

Four months, and the way out of the island reads differently in each of them. Nothing about booking a departure here behaves normally in August.

PeriodWhat happensWhat to do
JuneThe season opens. The weather is settled, the island is not yet full and the ramp still has room, so an aircraft can usually be there for the hour you actually want to leave. Two to three weeks is comfortable, and this is the best value of the four months.
July and AugustPeak, and on the way out the squeeze arrives twice. Ramp parking at Mykonos is the binding constraint, and the meltemi can affect operations for days at a time. The aircraft collecting you has commonly overnighted in Athens.Six weeks or more. Ask where the aircraft is coming from before it picks you up - that leg is in the quotation.
SeptemberThe best combination of weather and ramp space in the whole season. EUROCONTROL's analysis of European business flying identifies June and September as the genuine annual peaks, with a dip in between. Two to three weeks.
October to MayThe island closes, and the route closes with it.If you do have to leave, short notice is entirely realistic.

The seasonality above is classified in routes_shortlist.csv, Diamond Executive Aero Services route research, 23 August 2026. The June and September peaks are EUROCONTROL's, from "Getting to the Point: Business Aviation in Europe", Trends in Air Traffic vol. 1. Questions we get about this route

How long is Mykonos to London, and is it the same as the flight out?
About 3 hours 40 minutes non-stop. The great-circle distance to Luton is 2,568 km, to Biggin Hill 2,515 km and to Farnborough 2,562 km. The time itself is direction-neutral: it comes from a model fitted to the flight times we publish, not from a measured block time. In practice the two directions differ, because upper winds over Europe are predominantly westerly and this leg flies into them, so it is normally the slower of the pair. The flight plan filed on the day carries the real figure. The scheduled alternative usually connects in Athens and takes most of a day.
Can the aircraft be at Mykonos for the hour we want to leave in August?
That is the question worth asking first, and it is not the same question as availability. Ramp parking on the island is finite in August, so crews commonly drop their passengers and reposition to Athens for the night, which means the aircraft collecting you may have to fly in that morning. Give us the departure hour you want rather than a rough time of day and we will plan the positioning leg backwards from it.
Will the meltemi stop us leaving?
Rarely. The strong northerly summer wind of the Aegean can affect operations at island airports in July and August, but it is a normal part of planning here rather than an exception. The practical effect is that departure times move, not that flights do not happen. If your onward connection at the London end is tight, say so when you book and we will build the day with room in it.
Which London airport should we land at?
Whichever puts you nearest the address you are going to; the sector lengths barely separate them. Luton is 2,568 km and suits North London and the M1, and it holds the deepest pool of super-midsize aircraft in the UK. Biggin Hill is the shortest sector at 2,515 km and serves south and south-east London, Kent and the City. Farnborough is 2,562 km, has no scheduled traffic and the fastest turn on the ground, which makes it the choice for Surrey, Hampshire and the west.
Is an empty leg likely in this direction?
More likely than in most places, and for the reason described above: aircraft leave Mykonos empty every day of August once they have dropped their passengers, so the board out of the island is unusually full in season. It is worth asking about the leg home and the empty legs in the same call. Current empty legs.
What aircraft do we need, and can everyone bring their luggage?
Super-midsize is the comfortable answer at 2,568 km. A Challenger 350 takes eight to nine passengers with three cubic metres of hold, a Citation Sovereign+ eight to eleven with 2.83 cubic metres, and a Gulfstream G280 ten. All three cross non-stop with a full cabin and a full hold; midsize types can fly the sector but start trading luggage for fuel. For a larger party a Legacy 650 or Challenger 605 does the same job.
What does it cost?
From €22 100 one way for the whole aircraft, as an indicative floor. For comparison, brokers publish around 14,500 GBP for a seven-seat Citation Bravo, around 21,400 GBP for an eight-seat Hawker 800XP and around 35,500 GBP for a thirteen-seat Legacy 600 (retrieved August 2026), with super-midsize hourly rates quoted between 8,700 and 15,000 EUR. Those are third-party estimates rather than our offer. In August the positioning leg is often what separates two quotations, so ask what the aircraft does before and after it carries you.
Can we buy single seats, and how late can we book?
Single seats are sold on the flights we open for sharing - our own published Larnaca to Mykonos example is 500 EUR a seat on a Citation XLS+ in 1 h 24. More about jet sharing. On timing: in June or September a few days' notice is usually enough, while in August booking late means taking whatever slot and parking arrangement is left. Short notice is nonetheless a common way this leg is bought, and what decides it is where a suitable aircraft is standing rather than our willingness. Call +357 95 119759 at any hour and you will get a straight answer rather than a hopeful one.
