Private Jet Charter Athens to Mykonos

Athens to Mykonos is 136 km, about 35 minutes in the air on a light jet. The sector is trivial; the arrival is not. Mykonos requires a slot and prior permission, general aviation slots open only a fortnight before the flight, and in peak season the island holds private ground time to around 40 minutes rather than parking the aircraft. A written quotation follows inside 30 minutes; +357 95 119759 answers at any hour.

Thirty-five minutes from the mainland to the Cyclades, flown all summer and constrained all summer. We will tell you what the island will actually allow on your dates before you commit to them.

Athens takes anything at any hour. Mykonos takes what it has room for, when it has room.

Aircraft for Athens to Mykonos

On half an hour the cabin hardly matters. What matters is what can get a slot and turn round inside the ground-time limit.

Phenom 300

Up to seven seats and the aircraft most often placed on short Mediterranean sectors. The usual first answer.

Phenom 300 →

Citation CJ2

Four to six with luggage, easier to place at short notice in the season, and cheaper to run on a short leg.

Citation Bravo

The older light jet on the same sectors. Less cabin, lower cost, and worth asking about when the schedule is flexible.

What it costs

We do not publish a starting price for Athens to Mykonos. On a 35-minute sector the hour in the air is the smallest item in the bill and the repositioning is the largest, so a route price would mislead. Below are hourly rates other people publish for light jets.

Mykonos is the item that decides this quotation. In peak season the island does not park private aircraft: the aircraft sets you down, leaves, and comes back for you, and those two extra sectors are yours. General aviation slots can only be requested a fortnight before the flight and are granted after scheduled traffic, so a July date confirmed in May is not a thing that exists. Ask any quotation you receive whether it includes the repositioning and what happens if the slot is refused - ours says both.

The figures above are third-party published rates, quoted so you can sanity-check a quotation. They are not our prices and they are not a quotation. The only price we stand behind is the written one against your dates.

Helicopter instead

On this sector a helicopter sidesteps the fixed-wing slot problem and lands closer to the villa. Often the better answer.

Questions we get about this route

Can we park the aircraft at Mykonos?
In peak season, generally no. The island holds private ground time to around 40 minutes: the aircraft sets you down, leaves, and comes back for you. That is not a service failure, it is the airport, and it belongs in the quotation rather than the invoice.
How far ahead can we confirm a Mykonos slot?
General aviation slot requests open a fortnight before the flight, and scheduled traffic is served first. So a July arrival cannot be guaranteed in May by anyone, whatever they tell you. What we can do is hold the aircraft and tell you honestly on the day the window opens.
What happens if the slot is refused?
The usual answer is Athens, then a short hop, a ferry or a helicopter. We name that plan in the quotation rather than improvising it on the morning. Ask any other quotation you are holding whether it does the same.
Is it cheaper to fly into Athens and connect?
Frequently, yes, and in August it is sometimes the only thing that works. The trade is two to three hours of your day against the repositioning cost of a direct arrival. We will put both numbers in front of you.
