A charter jet does not land at Courchevel. The altiport runway is 537 m with an 18.6% uphill gradient, there is no go-around once committed, it works in daylight only and the crew needs a specific mountain qualification. What we actually fly is Milan Linate to Chambery in about 40 minutes on a light jet, then about 55 minutes by road; or a turboprop or helicopter into the altiport itself. Two hundred kilometres on the map and one of the few arrivals in Europe where the aircraft you want is decided by the runway rather than by the passenger list. We will tell you which of the two shapes of this trip fits your party before we quote it.
REQUEST A QUOTEMilan to Courchevel is short enough that the flying is the easy part. Everything that matters on this pairing happens at the arrival end, and it is worth understanding before a date is fixed.
Four fields serve this trip and they are not interchangeable. The first is the one people ask for and the one we cannot fly a jet into; the rest are the ones that actually work.
| Field | Code | Role on this route | What decides it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Courchevel Altiport | CVF / LFLJ | Turboprop and helicopter only | 537 m runway, 18.6% gradient, no go-around, daylight only, mountain-qualified crew. Charter jets do not operate here |
| Chambery Savoie | CMF / LFLB | The jet arrival we use | Closest jet field to the Three Valleys, about 55 minutes by road to Courchevel 1850 |
| Grenoble Alpes Isere | GNB / LFLS | Alternative jet arrival | Used when Chambery slots or handling are full in peak ski weeks; about 1 h 50 by road |
| Geneva | GVA / LSGG | Alternative jet arrival | Widest choice of slots and handling in the region; about 2 h 15 by road, and a border crossing |
Runway length, gradient and the daylight and crew-qualification limits at Courchevel are published aerodrome facts, not our opinion. Road times are typical winter running times and vary with traffic and weather on the day.
Which aircraft depends on which of the two shapes you choose. If you want wheels on snow at the altiport, it is not a jet. If you want the jet, it lands at Chambery and the last stretch is road or rotor.
Light jet for the Linate to Chambery leg, about 40 minutes in the air for up to seven. The usual answer on this pairing.
Phenom 300 →The smaller light jet on the same leg, comfortable for four to six with ski bags, and often easier to place at short notice in the season.
Citation CJ2 →The way to reach Courchevel itself without the road. Flown from Chambery, Geneva or Annecy in a few minutes, subject to weather and daylight.
Helicopters →We do not publish a starting price for Milan to Courchevel, and on this pairing that matters more than usual: the trip is two moving parts rather than one, and the second part is priced by the minute of rotor time or by the car. What can be published honestly are the hourly rates other people publish for light jets in Europe.
| Reference | Applies to | Published figure | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whole aircraft, this route | Milan to Chambery | not published | We hold no route price for this pairing and will not invent one. The written quotation against your dates is the only price |

| Hourly rate, from | Europe | from 2,900 EUR per hour | Broker published range, 19.02.2026 |
| Hourly rate, quoted in dollars | Light jets | 3,750 – 4,200 USD per hour | Broker published range, August 2026 |

A forty-minute sector is the clearest case of why an hourly rate does not produce a price. The crew day, the landing and the handling at both ends sit on top of the time in the air, and in the ski weeks so does parking at Chambery, which fills early. If the aircraft cannot stay where it put you down it flies off to park and comes back for you, and those two extra sectors are yours to pay for. Ask us about that item specifically on this route rather than reading it on the invoice afterwards.
The figures above are third-party published rates, quoted so you can sanity-check a quotation. They are not our prices and they are not a quotation. The only price we stand behind is the written one against your dates.
This is a ski route with a short summer second life, and the difference between the two is not gradual.
| Period | What happens | What to do about it |
|---|---|---|
| December to March | Peak. Chambery slots, handling and parking all tighten, and Saturdays tighten worst of all | Book the Saturday sectors weeks ahead, or fly midweek and pay less for the same aircraft |
| Christmas and February half-term | The two hardest weeks of the year on this pairing | Fix dates early. Late requests get whatever is left rather than what suits |
| June to September | Quiet second season. Walking, golf and the Alpine passes | Short notice is realistic and the price behaves |
| April, May, October, November | Thin. Some handling and road services run reduced hours | Tell us the plan early so we can confirm what is actually open |
Two questions come up once the arrival is settled: how the last stretch is covered, and what else is within a short hop.
About 55 minutes to Courchevel 1850 in normal winter conditions, longer on a changeover Saturday. Cars are arranged with the flight rather than after it.
When Chambery cannot take the aircraft, Geneva almost always can. It costs road time, not flight safety, and we will say so plainly when it happens.
Milan to Geneva →If the appeal is Alpine rather than Courchevel specifically, Samedan takes light jets directly and removes the road stretch altogether.
Milan to St Moritz →Tell us your dates and how many of you there are. Your dedicated flight advisor will come back with aircraft options and a firm price.
