From the San Fernando Valley to the Wasatch Front is a short hop by private jet, and in winter the reason is usually snow. Salt Lake City International is the arrival airport for Park City, Deer Valley and the Cottonwood Canyons resorts of Alta, Snowbird and Brighton, so a morning departure from Van Nuys can put you on a lift the same day. Outside ski season the trip is more often business: Utah's tech corridor runs south of the city toward Lehi and Provo. Clients from the Westside or the South Bay can leave from LAX instead.

| December to early April | Ski season in Park City and the Cottonwood Canyons; holiday weeks and Presidents' Day weekend fill up first. | Book the holiday dates early and keep the return day flexible if a storm comes through. |
| Winter mornings | Snow and de-icing can slow departures from Salt Lake City. | Leave a margin before any fixed appointment on the return. |
